Rob Allison from Rob's Detectors has a slightly used Axiom for sale in the Classified section for $3000. That is a great deal. You will not find too many used GPX 5000s for sale that are priced below $2500 so that Axiom price is really good considering its newer tech, lighter weight, less complicated features/controls and decent coil selection. Rob is awesome by the way both with online/phone communication and in person.
Yes I saw that, it really tempting. Just a thousand short. I know there will be another one.

Hi all, hope this is the correct place for this question. I’m wondering if any of the older PI machines are worth getting and what the pros and cons would be. My goal is to save money while still finding gold and having fun. I want an Axiom but it’s just out of my price range at this time. So staying between a GP 3500 and GPX 5000 what should I look for?

Let’s see if I reword my question. Do people use metal detectors to Nugget hunt in colorado as we do in California, Arizona, Nevada and Idaho? I’ve never found nothing on it and just wondering if I should leave the equipment behind. I understand there are regulations and laws I’ll have to look into.

I’m planning a trip to northern Colorado and wondering if anyone Nugget hunts or is it all fine River Gold?

The name here is Kelley, and just wanted to start with a howdy folks. Got my first detector at 17 and been hunting on and off sense then. Now looking at aimlessly walking around the Arizona desert searching for nuggets. I’ve had my Gold Monster for about 3 months. Still haven’t found anything other than lead and wire. But only been out 4 times between Dr. appointments. Just picked up a White’s TDI SL that was NIB for a good price. Want to get a Sadie loop for it and give it a swing.

What are the thoughts on the GPX 4000/4500 series or is the 5000 the way to go?
