Quick update. Turns out they never sent my 6k away and have sent it back to me via express post. Less annoyed and very relieved! Now just waiting on an 11” replacement. 

I hope you’re right. Starting to feel like there’s something more to it. I have multiple minelab products with no issues and would hate to think somehow this 6000 was a mistake.
