Would stick with standard coil .. have tried the others .. but still find 11inch mono very sensitive to the tiniest bits ..
IMHTO .. have a good day

You did a great job getting the paint off, but its strips off the details of the part at the same time, You'd really need to contact Minelab service unless they can't help in your country. One of the Aussies that tinker with detectors maybe able to identify the part for you and would be worth making contact with.

They do out of warranty GPX repairs so likely can identify the part.
Minelab .. would have scrubbed the part no and then painted it ...

No .. can not simply replace with normal coax .. the coax used is a litz coax the internal and shield ..
also the coax is of low capacitance .. so is quite special ..Then if you do find the correct type cable it is a big job breaking into the coil to fit ....
If the outer protective sheath is decomposing ..for a bandaid fix ..just try taping it with electrical tape .. have done this in the past ..
otherwise is a replacement coil is the way to go..

As per above ... 5000 is more designed for prospecting for native gold and ideal for this ..
but if lookin for relics / treasure etc . would also suit and using the correct configuration using the DD coil as can only discriminate with the DD coil
Maybe also have another VLF treasure type in your arsenal .. even the vanquish series or equinox
cheers hope this helps
