  1. Tests like the bird dog that TNSS is showing i see as useful information rather than a setting to be used.

I've a well hunted medieval site that I'd gladly dig 100 nails on to maybe hit a gold hammered coin, so if i can use TNSS info to build myself a setting for that scenario I'd be well pleased.

Think about the % of ring pulls and balls of foil etc that are dug at a park to find a gold ring, if information came from a similar TNSS test that might help someone build themself a program to lower this % then I'd say that's useful info

Just curious how many has received their coil? Ordered January 31, called Myers and said still on order. I know we are all anxious and everyone has their own outcomes from every hunt. I guess seeing some already getting them, wondering what business was first come. Just glad to see the knowledge we all get from the people who can steer us about ground soil, depth and overall fundamentals of detecting. I am great full for all the inputs gathered for choosing the Minelab. Thanks for everything Mike

I'm in the UK so have had mine just over a week, but it's got a fault, so currently waiting on a replacement for it.

  3. The Equinox wouldn't be my first choice for working in iron on or near the surface, as has already been said an Orx of even a cheap GM1 would be more inline.

When detecting stubble or rolled ground etc your really only working the top 6" inches, what you miss this time around you'll get when the ground is turned over for the next years crops.

Personally i had thought of buying the Tarsacci for deep pasture detecting on hammered coins, but the Nox with 15" coil and excellent audio accuracy on low/mid conductors is hard to beat for that job.

Apparently there's a number of Tarsacci users already in the uk, but I've not seen or heard any reports.

  4. I've had a few of these shafts, there pretty good, but watch for the top collar closest to the handle coming loose. It's actually a threaded collar but they couldn't thread the carbon shaft it's on, so they glue them on. The bottom end plastic part that fits to the coil snapped on my last one in the cold weather.

You can buy the carbon rod sections (less the handle) for easy money on alibaba, even cheaper if you do a forum multi buy!
