  1. Hi ,,, to whoever is reading this particular link.......

Im sat here in the UK reading this complete utter dribble,,, laughing,,,,, hopefully with many others!

Do you know .... recent phrases, such as..... "Parlour Tricks".... "Harry's Potters Wand"... "Hypted Claims ".......words/quotes,,, that were never heard of on detecting forums before the Tarsacci was launched....

I can remember XP Deus videos promoting the HF Coils,,,, using CD's...... "pop rivets.... and various other things to promote the HF Coil,,,,, but none Of these fabricated words were  ever mentioned! ....... Strange that?

yes,,,, I've promoted the Tarsacci,,,,,,,, which I reckon I'm totally justified to do so, as I've paid my money for the unit,,,(ex Demo),,,, $1200 + UK inport duties +VAT,,,,,, (and no commitments whatsoever,, and not a part of any marketing ),,so yes, if I'm impressed with my purchase, I'm more than happy to share with others! (Isn't that the meaning of a metal detecting forum after all)?

It appears to be, many people here, on the forum seem obsessed with belittling the Tarsacci,,, not sure why,,, from what I can see most ,,, don't even own the machine?????... I don't own a Garrett,,,,, and I never look on the Garrett section on this forum, so why do so many people who don't own a Tarsacci comment on the Tarsacci section of this forum???? Don't understand! Totally beyond my comprehension.

So my friends, to conclude,,,,,, I love my Tarsacci,,, and yes, it appears to do things that previous detectors were unable to,,,,,,, I'm so looking forward to searching with it here in the U.K.,  for many years to come,........after all....... "waving my Harry Potter Magic Wand" surely has to bring me luck!!!😉

  2. My first Roman search with the Tarsacci went very well, sadly though the stubble was much longer than I imagined, only a few areas were short, most was just too high for detecting.

However, I found Roman coins, including a early silver! loads of silvers have come from here over the past years! Really cuffed to get my first silver with the MDT,,,. I've not tried to ID it yet, but looks an early one.

Not much else turned up, a couple of shotgun tops, one piece of lead, didn't get caught out with much iron, really is quite easy to tell Iron using the Tarsacci, the best area of the field as for Finds go is still in crop, so will have to get back later, may probably wait for the field to be cultivated, taking into account the long stubble.

    Settings .

TrH, -4,,,, any higher was getting noisy, -1 was unusable here.

    Dsc, -30

    Sens, 7 ,,,, very stable

    GB, auto 910/930

    Disc mode

    ST, 41

    Black sand, OFF

    TRACK, OFF

    Fc, 12K & 18K

The -4 on TrH,, made all the difference here today, no false signals from the Coil touching the stubble, all together a very enjoyable 3 hour search, can't wait to get back here again, always a good test for any new detector is a well searched out site, gives a good insight to how good the machine should be.

I'm so far delighted with the MDT.

    Regards.

  3. Tomorrow, 30th July...........

im using the Tarsacci MDT on its first Roman site tomorrow,,

The field has only the headland cut,, (wholecrop silage),, but I can't wait to experiment with the Tarsacci, I will only have a few hours to spare here but really looking forward to this opportunity!

ive been detecting this site since the early nineties,, (Fisher 1265X)  was the first detector I ever used here....(loved that machine),, and numerous other detectors since!

Site has been detected heavily throughout, not just by me , but numerous of other people, so,,, should be an excellent place to see what the Tarsacci can unearth,,,, .. For the record, I detected this site last year and only found about  half a dozen coins,,, in a whole days hunt,, so it will be a great test!

Hopefully some photos of Finds to follow, and a brief summary of how it went!

    regards

  4. Well, I've got to be honest here.

I've been detecting for some 37 years, and I have to admit, I've never "taken"too a detector so quickly as the Tarsacci!

So simple to navigate, no silly sub-menus, such a pleasure to work with.

managed to get about 4hours in, before heavy rain arrived and had to abort.

I simply did a Salinity Balance,, came in around 28, GB was between 850-890, 12kHz, TrH -4, Sens 5, Mix Mode...I was searching on a oil seed rape stubble field.

Very stable machine, no EMI issues, quite simply a pleasure to use!

mixed bag of non-ferrous finds, only a couple of nails catching me out!,,, great depth .

Didn't use the pin-pointer,, old trick of "wiggling the Coil" back towards your feet from the target,, when signal disappears, target was directly below the front tip of the Coil,,, worked every time!

OK ,, nothing really interesting found, but great fun!

I just know that the Tarsacci is going to be undoubtedly, one of the best detectors I've ever used!,, and I can't fault it in any way,,looking forward to getting out again early next week!

    regards

    Dave

  5. Hi,
I've not gone away,,,,, Tarsacci arrived safely here on Tuesday, I've been testing, only in my garden for a few hours.

Build quality is outstanding, carbon fibre shafts, amazing cam locks, no wobble, good Balance, really pleased.

I've had to purchase a UK charger, as USA is 110 v & we run 240v, no problem, next day delivery from online shop, cost £10.95,,,,,  both batteries now fully charged.

I've been playing with the Salinity Balance a lot, looks very interesting,, I'll keep you updated on this. I may try and do a simple video showing this soon, ( never uploaded a video before)....Lol.

I've also converted the Tarsacci to "wireless" ,,,, received today,, wireless transmitter, and wireless headphones, Bluetooth aptX Low Latency, made by "TROND" model BT-DUO, and the TROND matching headphones,,,,, amazing sound, no noticeable signal delay whatsoever, really great, and to expensive,,, about £87 delivered.

I obviously need to get more hours on the Tarsacci before I start to post further comments, so I will be back soon with new updates asap.

    Regards
    Dave.

  6. Aaron, really appreciate you shipping my new toy! Today.

    may the fun begin!😉

Dewcon,, pleased you like the really old stuff the coin in my avatar was in use around c.50-35 BC, it's tiny..

Im sure that I'll get use to its tones/ quirks pretty fast,, ....something tells me the Salinity Balance will be a major player here in the U.K.,,, ALSO I'm very surprised that apparently I'm the first to be able to use the Tarsacci in the UK,

I'll keep you all post on further information.

  7. Hello all.

I've been following the Tarsacci for sometime now, and today, with the assistance from Aaron, ive "pulled the trigger ".... and ordered the Tarsacci.

Hopefully my new machine will arrive here in the UK in 5-10 days..... so I'm looking forward to searching on many of my ironage & Roman sites..

any advice/ setting  tips would be muc appreciate!

im really excited about this new machine,,  I've been detecting for 37 years now, however the Tarsacci has got me filled with more enthusiasm than any other machine.....,... not sure why...... just a gut feeling?.......... time will tell........?

    regards.

I'm going to give that a try David. was on a very iron infested site thursday

I hope it works out for you,

I was out today on a grass field, regularly ploughed and left the GB on 75, didn't engaged tracking and Equinox ran really smoothly, never ran this high before on the GB but was very impressive, plenty of finds with great tones, also recovered plenty of small targets, i.e. Air gun pellets and shotgun percussion caps, so convinced its not tracking out the small stuff!... only used recovery speed 6/7 ,,, not that interested in depth, target separation is more important to me! Good luck!

  9. Some folks here may find this interesting, I certainly did!

Testing my equinox 800 in my home test garden today, ground not high on mineralisation, but full of iron, old rusty nails etc.

Had a silver UK sixpence 1930's buried only about 4/5 inches deep iron nails below and all around. (Difficult target)

Imagine a clock face, I'm sweeping from 12 o'clock to 6 o'clock , good 2 way tone, no problem, now sweeping from 3 o'clock to 9 o'clock, 1 way signal, one tone only sweeping from left to right (from 3 o'clock back to 9 o'clock)

Here's the interesting discovery reference ground balance, on my test garden there's so much iron getting a true GB is impossible, when I do try to auto GB it jumps up to the high 90's! However most of my permissions here in the UK read a GB in the mid 40's to the mid 50's so generally that's where I leave my GB most of the time.

Ok GB set at 50, one way target from 3 o'clock to 9 o'clock, sweeping from 3 back to 9 gives me a one way tone.

Increasing the GB to 90 gave the opposite, still a one way tone, but in reverse ,now sweeping from 9 back to 3,, still a good 2 way tone sweeping from 12 to 6!

Lowering the GB to 75, amazing, perfect 2 way tone, 3 to 9,, and 9 to 3.

Just thought I would share this as I found the results very interesting!

(GB set at 0 gave no tone whatsoever from 3 o'clock to 9 o'clock)

Program used field 2 , 50 tones, multi, discrimination -9/+1, iron bias 1, stock 11" coil, sensitivity (tried 17/21 not a great deal of difference)

    Regards Dave. H

Is the ground very mineralized?  I have not had to use the ground balance feature on my 3030 in Ohio, Maine, or FL hunts.  I would try a full on hunt with just stock field settings before messing about with the detector.  I think deviating too far from stock settings can create unwanted frustration.  I cant wait to see what you pull out of the ground!

    Hi there Vez,

here in the U.K., I experience some difficult ground i.e. Searching a Roman site for example,

I totally agree with you using the factory's stock settings, ( until a least we become familiar with the Equinox),,,as you can see I'm only diverting slightly from the stock settings!

    Dave.

  11. Well, as a XP Deus user for 5 years, and loving using this machine, I've came to the conclusion ( solely on reading this forum),,,, I'm definitely purchasing a Equinox 800!

Having read the user manual listed here for the Equinox, several times,,, before even purchasing the 800, I've made a note of my initial settings!..... ( UK land searching, mainly Roman & medieval sites)....

    Here goes!

    Field 2

    Multi frequency

    2 tone

    Recovery speed 6

    Ground Balance = auto

    Noise Cancel = auto

    Sensitivity = 20/22

Discrimination = 0. ( back from factory preset of 2)

    Iron Bias = 0

Rest of settings,,,,, factory presets , till used for at least 30 hours!

PS , I've been detecting for 30 years,,,,,, honestly I can say I've never been so excited about purchasing a new detector, as this one!

Good luck, and happy hunting to all users of the Equinox!

    Regards.

  12. If like mine, after 5 years of neglect & general ware & tare ,, your remote is suffering from scratches on the screen......

here's a quick tip to restore your remote screen  back  to new!

gently rub over the screen with a " Brasso pad wadding" cleaner,,, it takes about 15-20 minutes,  after which your screen will be as new!!

    hope this helps!

    regards

    Dave
