Great Find!!!!!  Yes, it's real. It could have belonged to the original home owner, or family member. Just because you aren't near an actual battle site doesn't mean you can't find relics.  There could have been an encampment near by for new recruits. Research the town / county history more and you may come up with your answer.

Ive dug 6 stainless rings this year.  The first few made me excited thinking they were gold, now I just expect to find disappointment. 

I was in Wal-Mart last night and they have a large collection of SS rings.  Prices go all the way up to just over $100.  Some of the high priced ones have a wide "gold" section around the outside of the ring which is VERY attractive and others had small "diamonds" embedded on the outside.  Finding gold rings may become as scarce as finding a stack of silver dollars with an equinox ?

I always check the discharge at those coinstar machines.  Found a 1929 wheatie in really good shape.  Makes me wonder what other good coins passed thru.  I just took $80.08 in clad I found so far to the bank and deposited in my checking account.  I can't see giving coinstar 10%.
