I really appreciate Minelab's military discount. Being retired and partially disabled it really helps out those of us on fixed incomes. Good on ya Minelab...

Dubious: It hasn't bothered me. I find the 24k much simpler to use and I like their new ground tracking system a lot. Sorry for not responding sooner. I'm pretty hit and miss with forums...

Great review Steve. I sold my GMT and bought the 24K from Gerry in Idaho and haven't been sorry.

I really like the 24k. Don't miss my GMT since getting it. I have found it to be really sensitive and able to find some really small gold. Still learning it, but I think it's going to be great, at least for me.

Good idea, thanks.

Kodiak: thanks for the suggestion, I'll try it out.

I didn't find any results when I searched. I'm looking for some advice on a good hand-held GPS to use when prospecting. Is there such a thing as one that is easy to use and easy to connect to a computer? Thanks for helping a novice.

Yep, it worked great. Did it about three years ago to a Garrett Pro Pointer. It's still there.

Awesome, comprehensive review. Thanks Steve.

Great finds. I just picked up a TDI SL today. Can't wait to try it out. I just finished Tom Bohmker's book on prospecting in Idaho. I'm guessing he's your dad or grandpa. Nice video.
