Hey Gold Hound,
Thanks so much for your information on the CTX. I do not own one but I just made up my mind to get one as I do hunt many trash areas. My sole detector for gold is the 4500 and its been good to me, but a CTX as a back up for trashy areas would be a smart move. Thanks again !

I suppose we will never know who is doing well or not since our activity is very , well you know. But I would go with hard work and determination also. I have seen a many detectorist out on good grounds and they find way less or nothing than some others. I know of one fella here in my area who uses an old Whites gold master v-sat and he is hitting multi-ouncers and bits with it....WHY ?? Because of his determination and he puts time behind his machine, and at times appears like its part of him...so you dont need the latest and greatest , just a will to succeed.

Energy bars and coconut water.......works for me. And when you feel like you need a break, take 5-10 minutes and rest,. I have found when I do that, I usually slow it down on my sweeps and pay more attention to the sounds. Many a time after a nice break I find a nugget. That gold wont grow legs and run, it will be there waiting for you....so rest.

Minelab 4500 and waiting for the Nokta Gold to come out......I need a vlf for trash spots. As long as it isn't broken I am not replacing my 4500. Of course a 7000 would be nice , but at 10,000 I can wait and continue putting in my 80% and leave the 20% to the detector that I own and been good to me.

Whites don't want to compete with dealers...? Ha ha ....that's a good one.

Haha...that's good NuggetBob !! Soo true, the Gold Rush starts in the mind...and hits Fever Levels every time I think about heading out to hunt, which is often for me. The gold we find is just a reminder.....theirs more out there to be found....

Plenty of areas to hunt , the end is no way near. I wish I had the time to hunt just the areas I see and spot on my way to work and back....

I use Detech coils on a regular base and find them very stable, they are built very well. I found this .9 gram nugget at 9-10 inches. Barely heard it, but with such a stable threshold I managed to hear it. I been over this spot with Commander coils and Nuggetfinder coils and missed it, since that nugget many more were found. I am not sure about the detectors but I think I saw a video on U-Tube of someone testing a Detech Gold Catcher.

Impossible to please everyone, because some people you can never please....so don't sweat the small stuff..and I for one am looking forward to the Racer coming to the States. keep up the great work.

First , thanks for sharing your finds and the video was great! I noticed you also use the Detech coil, I have the 15x11 E Mono on and I am very satisfied with it. What size Detech coil did you have on when you found the 15 gram piece down 19 inches or so?

Chris,
I was their with the boy and girl scouts, it was our trip to the museum, I did not see the gold display, wish I knew about it. But now I am well aware that their is a fish net wearing bars maid and saloon, I can kill two birds with one visit. Sacramento is a pretty cool place, and many things to see including the Fort??? dang whats it's name? Escapes my mind right now, next to it is the Native American Museum worth seeing both...

Yes I am a dreamer, it's free and feels good , all these detecting companies and rumors of new line of detectors, looks like 2015 will be interesting. I am just going to wait and keep my 4500 for now, it works well and finds me gold. Gona sit back in 2015 and see whats the greatest new machine, than decide.

Great museum, been there and I would also recommend a visit. I was amazed at the amount of engines in that building. Worth a visit, the State Capital is a must...take a tour and learn how out government is supposed to work

Wouldn't that be something, Whites comes up with a Pi, VLF Hybrid.....for 2995.00, 100% iron discrimination,. and goes deep!! A detector geared for nuggethunters in the U.S.
