I think it is similar to XP's X-Y screen.

On the Atrex, the headphones are sold as an accessory along with a wireless transmitter. There is also a mated wireless receiver available for other HPs.  This is very similar to Garrett's Z Lynk.

Hopefully the Versa will have a built in transmitter like other waterproof detectors. Final specs are still to be announced.

From  Q&A from Rutus: Versa got built in transmitter and will cooperate with SR1 headphones and OS2 transmitter  https://www.rutus.com.pl/en/page/70/versa-2.

@xawi29  Thank you for the information. Since I notice you have experience with the Rutus Alter & Atrex, what is your opinion on how their detectors perform in high mineralization.   Also if the All Metal channel gives good ID depth.   Has their detector performance increased with each new model's introduction?  I am wondering what advancement the Versa may have above the Atrex 2.0.

I was using Alter mostly in  mild terrain, Only occasionally in high mineralization, I was participating in archeological digs in medieval monastery witch was completely burn  in early post medieval, so lot of high mentalization form char coal, crushed bricks and pottery and tons of burned forget nails. detectors could not  reach targets deeper than 10 cm... Alter on high reaction (7)was working well ,there was little chatering  and falsing  from it but it was easy to pick up signals of good targets. For next season of dig I have already Atrex and this one overpefromed  all detectors used there.  I was literally walking behind nox, D2 and D1 machines and pick up a lot of good  signals.   I thing rutus make a good  job with  multifilter ( I was using only single frequency with  multifilter and even reaction was not so high 4. I was using 2 coils: mars sniper and 12cm CC).  I don't know Versa  but I think it will be performing better than  Atrex due to  bigger choice of frequencies  and knowledge  that Rutus gain during development of Atrex and Versa, I think ElNino will have more to say about this as he is testing Vesra ( but I guess before official  release there will be not much information as  Versa  software is still in development).

That is good to know. Is the added expense some sort of Import duty? I have never purchased anything from overseas before.

One of the Polish sites lists the Versa as Out of Stock but prices about $785 w/ VAT. That does not include any shipping. Does the VAT apply to sales to the USA?

actual it is not in stock yet, it will be more less in  the middle of june. UK is not any more in EU so I guess all goods are subject of import duty. About Polish Vat you need to contact store I dont want to say something that is not true but it can be that VAT could be deducted from price (23%).

I sent an E mail inquiry to the UK distributor and received a prompt reply. The Versa is expected to be available in July/August. The anticipated price is 700 Pounds(about $868)  A bit more expensive than I was hoping but I am quite interested even with added shipping.

You can try to contact Polish dealers of Rutus,  for all it will be around 100 USD cheaper than  in UK (more or less price of additional 23 DD coil), and they will have it   early in stock. for exaple this store: https://sklep.zwiadowcahistorii.pl/gb/metal-detectors/906-versa-rutus-wykrywacz-metali-nowosc.html.  ot this store https://sklep.undergroundpassion.pl/rutus-detektory-c-2.html

IMG_20230112_002202_245.thumb.jpg.5433845975762e56690cfebfc3d114da.jpgXavi... as an Atrex tester, I used Atrex for almost the whole of last year on the new Multifrequency "Coin program" on reactivity 4-5 and then I detected this Teren again on Reactivity 7... which can unmask other findings... mostly at a sensitivity of around 85.. to 90..... Finally, I will also cross the field on 1 frequency around 14.4 khz -17.4 ... for further control of the field.... and sometimes 1 frequency can have an edge in some detection situations...
Reaktivity 5 has the best depth and separation properties of Atrex, even when you use different coils... that's why I recommend using such Reaktivities for the first and also the next crossing of the terrain...

for higher reactivity 7 .....Atrex picks up and unmasks other targets...

From my point of view, the 23cm DD coil has the best depth separation properties....but the 6x10 Sniper coil will also be very effective in 3D separation..

for the last crossing of the terrain, I use a 12 cm concentric coil that can unmask other slightly shallower targets in 2D separation.... this small coil requires a certain amount of patience in detection... but it will be rewarded with good finds...

12 CC coil Im using on digs archaeological   sites, last year I pic up more than 150 tiny hammered and brakteats with this coil. I was literal walking behind deus and orx usesr with HF coils and picking up  those targets.

Nice find Xavi...👍, which multi-frequency program do you use on Atrex, on your Terrain...?

Hi  Slavo, I use single frequency  due to amount of iron and reduced sensivity to 65, 13.6 khz. ( lot of emi and this one was the quiet one).   reaction was 5 on Mars sniper.  some of this  targets were real deep for this size of coil :).

  7. I would recommend you new baby in Rutus family the almighty  Atrex.  Best price  of all,  excellent support from manufacture , you can get always phone advice form Saper. It got 2 software version now available Basic  best  for  starting adventure  with Rutus detectors and Advance for more experience users. More version of softwares are under development  for example a  multifrequency, or special dedicated for  meteorite searching.

On one hand you’re saying that it’s too early to speculate about any potential update wars between machines on the verge of release because it’s too early to know what they are bringing to the table, but on the other hand you want me to speculate even further to include a hypothetical Garrett machine that has not been announced but may or may not come out in the next year or so.

Honestly though, I think if I’m leaving anyone out or overlooking a sleeper it might be Rutus. I’m not impressed with the aesthetics or ergonomics of the Altex but it may end up being a performer, and they have the color screen that really takes multi to another level.

Permission granted. Consider it a continuing and wide ranging permission, kind of like a 24/7 Detectival (see what I did there)

Yes, I’m pickin’ a bit. You dish it out plenty, often over any undotted i or uncrossed t (that’s why your name is “chase”) so I figured you’re due for a little. Now that I’ve gotten it out of my system…

Out of all the companies mentioned, I’d love to see Garrett come in for the upset. Few people would want to see an American company back on top than me. Personally, I’d love it to be Fisher, but I see no signs of life over there. One guy capable of such an upset is very sick, and the other is on other projects. So Garrett is who I have to pin my hopes on at this point. But I also have to be honest, and it’s just a gut feeling I hope I’m wrong on, but out of the 4 we are discussing I have the most hope, but the least faith that Garrett will come out on top of it in terms of sheer performance. I have no doubt they could sell and market whatever they make, but sheer performance. One thing I hope I’m dead wrong on.

You might have the drop on Minelab though. If the others come out with truly competitive products, updates may not cut the mustard. Equinox is a bad aesthetic and ergonomic design prone to flooding and breaking. It is not worthy of the technology it holds…not even a little bit. If I were them, no matter where they are on a CTX level variant, I’d immediately revise the equinox into a 1000 version, placing Multi-IQ in a worthy housing. Short of this, their thunder might just get stolen.

I appreciate how difficult multifrequency is. It’s not lost on me that there’s not one single DIY circuit in the wild. But I’m not convinced that a 1st design by another company not named Minelab couldn’t equal or best them. All these companies now have the benefit of Minelab’s prior work, not just Minelab. They know what they are up against and hopefully enough about how it works that they could make improvements or innovations of their own. Of all companies I’m seriously doubting that XP would release anything they aren’t sure measures up. I have less faith in Nokta but I also know how hungry and driven they are. I don’t think they are going to embarrass themselves with an inferior product either. I think they’d sooner take on a lawsuit lol.

In the end, whatever the players are, once the root performance is ironed out, they’ll have to win us over in features. I look forward to their custody battle for us.

Regarding to Atrex. I own now one. After first tests I can say it is a  very effective machine. And  the best thing is that Rutus still improving  software  and working on new functions that will further improve this machine. So new machines  from other manufactures will have to bring a lot more... what is good for us ;).

For the last few months, I've been detecting with Atrex .. and .. I'm also testing ... But lately I've also used XP ORX, Equinox 800, AKA Signum, .. Rutus Alter71, Etrac ... and Whites for detection. Spectra Vision ..,

As part of a serious and direct comparison and .. however, I use a much larger number of detectors, especially to compare certain specific detection properties .... for different detectors ....

I take the detector as a detection tool ... for various detection situations ... and in this case I put my trust and experience in a given model that may be the best in the given situation ..

In the end, Rutus ATREX himself did not disappoint me at noon ... and he brought really nice finds ....ATREX ..software 1.0.2  whit  Multifilter..

    IMG_20210902_131051_812.jpg

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ps: elliptical coil HF in ORX will be good for 2d separation..as also for work ... as well as good content in red hematite soil for low-conductivity targets ..

Hi Elnino that ring is from gold?? it looks like mediaeval one.  Any way nice finds.

  10. New Rutus name will be ATREX.

What's new you'll find in Atrex?
The first novelty in the Atrex is the availability of two types of software that the user can change himself in an innovative way. "Basic" for those looking for a user-friendly detector and "Advance" for users who want to control every aspect of the device. There is no need for cables or special applications that the user has to install on his laptop to change the software. Everything is operated wirelessly using WiFi and an ordinary web browser, so that the software can be changed even in the field using a phone. More advance software may develop in the future.
Multifilter is the second important thing. Wherever the ground is highly mineralized and it hinders the search, Atrex has an "ace up its sleeve". The Multifilter is an algorithm that runs in the background of the detector's normal operation. If a small object made of non-ferrous metal can be signaled by normal ground filters, i.e. there is no problem with the ground - nothing is happening, the detector works in the classic way. If the signal from the ground is greater than the signal from the object - the Multifilter, based on the data archived for the last tens of milliseconds, can reconstruct the approximate ID of the object and signal the non-ferrous object. The effectiveness of detection of non-ferrous metal objects in heavily mineralized soils increases very significantly. We have verified it in reliable field tests and there is no doubt that the theoretically developed "Multifilter" works in practice.
Next new feature is the ability to neutralize the effects of water on search. Neutralization does not mean "masking" the problem. Electrically conductive water has different characteristics than metal objects. If we "stimulate" the water with several frequencies, it turns out that we can easily "subtract" the signal from the water, and the signals from metal objects can be further processed. With Atrex, you can walk on wet beaches, swamps and peat bogs just like you would on dry sand.
Another novelty is the Noise level preview screen. From now on, choosing the operating frequency will be easier. Just turn on the preview screen and select a frequency where there is no interference.
The new color display is very little susceptible to the effects of low temperature and always works just as fast.
Atrex will contain all the functions that are in Alter71.
A new wireless receiver with a built-in rechargeable battery will work with Atrex.
We expect to release Atrex on foreign markets at the end of the year.

  11. In September I was participating in 5th season of archeological dig for remains of huge silver treasure discovered in 2015. Treasure consist mostly of parted coins from Samanid Empire 8 to 9 century, Slavic jewelry and coins from  Germany , Hungary  and Denmark. In this season of digging ( 4 meetings) we discovered totally 150 fragments of treasure. Field were it was discovered is an iron carpet, were many detector fail to separate good targets  from iron junk. I attend 2 digs and I was lucky  to discover 35 silver items.
