Depends on the base program. In v1.1+, Deep HC, they seem to come in at 54-59 for me. In Fast, 59-64.

Thanks Rattlehead, it's based on the fast program.

  2. Hey all, I'm setting up a new custom notch for my D2 (version 1.1). I would like as much feedback as I can get for what nickels are ringing up so I make sure I can "see" them. What is a good range everyone is seeing to hit buffaloes, V, Jeffersons etc? I'm thinking 58-63. Thanks!

Actually, you’ve got that sort of backwards.  Besides being able to charge all D2 accessories (Remote, coils (except the new Xtreme hunter two-box which uses USB C), headphones, and the MI6), the D2 triple head cord is used to only update the D2 remote because it has required multifunction round screw-in barrel connector for the remote.  The other two mini USB B connectors on the triple-head charge cable provide charge power only and lack data pin connections and can’t be used for updates to the headphones.   In order to do updates to the headphones, you need the single USB mini B data/charge cable that was included in the D2 kit or, if you lost that, you need to get a third-party single USB cable with a mini B connector that has both power and the data pins connected or you can get an XP replacement single data/charge cable from an online shop that carries XP accessories. HTH

So, getting any aftermarket USB mini B single cord that is longer, sans the data pins would be fine for just charging, correct? My whole reason for the longer cord is to be able to charge the coil and remote simultaneously without removing the remote from the rod. That dang 3 wire stock XP cord is a pain! The USB mini B cords that they supply are too short as well.

  4. I am looking to buy a single charging cable for my Deus 2. It is my understanding that the adapter is USB mini B. I'm assuming you can use any cable with this configuration.  I need a couple more that are longer than what XP provides.  Does anyone know if any mini B will work with the accessories?

I hit an old homesite this morning that was a sea of iron but managed to pull this padlock. Name is " HOMER & CO. Still functional and I was able to pick it. Anyone have any idea what the age is?

I actually think it says "ROMER & CO".

Very nice finds that would please anybody in a single hunt. How many junk targets did you dig in the course of finding these three rings?

Luckily, not too much in the way of junk. I just found a decent amount of clad though. I have found that if I stay near the low tide mark/wet sand, the lighter stuff like pull tabs are few and far between.

  7. I have to add one more to my favorite accessory list. I got a replacement control mount for the top of my shaft from Steve G. It locks the controller on with a little clamp. It's really intended for his round shafts, but it fits fine on the OEM shaft.

  8. Next to the WSA6 1/8" headphone adapter, my second pick is the WSAII XL headphones. Those are one of the reasons I chose my D2 over the Manticore as my new detector. Having wireless rainproof over the ear headphones for me as a beach hunter is invaluable!

Without question, it was Steve Goss’ carbon fiber detector rod for the D2.  Light years better than the stock rod in every way.

Yeah Colonel, I have thought about getting that as well. Bought his rod for the Nox and it is nice. Great guy to deal with as well!

  10. What is the best D2 accessory you have bought that did not come with the detector and why? This can be XP brand or other. I'll start: the 1/8" headphone jack that attaches to the WSA6 or WSAII. It keeps the detector wireless and allows you to use headphones that are cool in the Summer.

  11. I am always trying to find new ways to improve my hunting on the saltwater beach. I do not dive, but frequently detect the wet sand/water in pretty rough conditions including rainy days. I'm looking for the best water resistant/proof headphone option with the best audio. I have the WSAIIXL's and love them in the cooler months, but way too hot in Summer. I have ear buds that I hook to the WSA6 master, but have to protect the master from water. I like the idea of being able to use the bone conduction headphones as they are waterproof but don't know about the sound quality with ambient noise from the ocean and wind.

Can anyone share their experience with this?

  12. I too went from the Nox 800 to the Deus. I mostly hunt on the beach near Topsail. I have found that the Deus does a better job of sniffing out non-ferrous targets deeper than the Nox. It also will give a pretty accurate ID on the deep targets. Allow some time to learn the D2's "language" and it will reward you.

  13. Went for a 2 hour hunt this morning at the beach. I got to a low patch in the wet. Never dug so much lead in such a short time (1 hour), but I knew it had to pay off. Right before I called it quits because I was exhausted from digging deep holes and fighting waves, I popped a ring. 14K, real ruby and diamonds and 13 grams! Deus 2 rules on the beach!

  14. Anyone have experience with the WS6 with the headphones or as a standalone as far as it being rain proof? The only thing I see stated from XP is it being weatherproof, whatever that means. I just like to detect in the rain at the beach sometimes without worrying about my equipment.

  15. With all of the new updates that keep coming and wiping out my previous settings for custom programs, I have generated a form to put all of the settings for each program. It's a Google document and hope it will help you because I think it's helping me! When you click on the link, it will automatically force a copy, so that you can edit it. Hope you're able to access it. Let me know what you think. Custom Program Deus II

  16. I have heard mixed reviews of the new update. From my experience so far, it seems to be ok, but I have only been out twice. I watched a couple of Sharpshooter's videos where he compared the 1.0 to the .071. He showed the separation was markedly worse in the new update based on a coil next to iron. Thoughts?
