I have a CZ 20 that I need the 4 9v battery pack for. I purchased from someone on here who turned out to be a real A-Hole and never sent it only to find out he has ripped off numerous people on other forums as well. I need help with designing a battery pack to hold the 4 9v batteries needed for this machine. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am retired and disabled and out $40.00 that I sent this bastar.. Thanks everyone.

Thanks, I used to teach wood shop but after becoming disabled I sold my own complete wood shop. Just trying to sell them as is but I also thought of the craft path but that is not happening. Thanks.

There are some museums that may go even higher than you think for artifacts in good condition. They may even give you a great tax write-off if you work with them.
Try some of those before posting on CL.
Had no idea. Will do, Thanks!

I'm 78 years old and not as spry as I was! Seems the DFX is getting heavier every time I use it. I am looking for the same features (or better) with a lighter weight. Maybe one that can be belt mounted.
I am in the same boat as I became disabled and have not hunted for six years but I have a DFX 300 and a DFX which are now for sale and I bought a Minelab Equinox 800 it is like night and day

Welcome back! Maybe a 6" coil on that Nox may make it even easier to swing and separate a few good targets as well?
Possibly. I may try that thanks.

People on Ebay can ask whatever they want for any detector. One DFX has been on Ebay for months. The seller has slowly dropped the price from $599 down to $399 and still no takers yet. That seller has another $100 or so to go before most potential buyers will be interested. The condition of the DFX may or may not matter. What might matter more are what coil or coils come with it. If the coils are really old or boat anchors the price may not be any higher than $250 to $300.
The DFX is an excellent detector in the right EMI, soil and target conditions.
Loved my DFXs. If I could I would use them solely again. Too heavy for me now. Thanks.

Depending on condition anywhere from $250 to as high as $500 for the mint DFX/300 seems like the going price. They are relatively rare to find now (compared to say older First Texas machines) and with White's demise (despite being sold to Garrett), Whites die hards seem to be snapping them up as backups or for parts etc. So you should have success getting whatever you ask in that range. Here are some more recent threads on the subject, including Steve H. and Jeff M. discussing recent used DFX purchases. HTH
Great, thank you.

I have just returned to detecting after 6 years and am disabled. I used my DFX and DFX 300 (which I just bought before the injuries) previously and have now found they are too heavy for me. I now have a Minelab EQ 800 and have stopped using these two Whites. The DFX300 is mint for sure and the DFX is also in great shape. Trying to find comparative values before posting in classifieds. Saw one on Ebay. Any ideas? Thanks.

Thanks everyone. I will be trying my best to get out. I just sat on the ground quite a few times taking the middle of a farm field all in again. Been too long.

I had been detecting for over the 25 years with many good finds and good times. Went to many organized hunts, meetings and belonged to 2 clubs. Caught an autoimmune as well as a neck/head injury which has made me make some huge changes. Was a fishing guide for 22 years, gave that up, sold the boat, sold the truck, played in a band etc etc. Finally after 6 years the Drs all keep telling me "you need to get out and move around if only for a little while". I tried with my DFX 300 which was just bought prior to this, but it was to heavy to swing for me. Tried my regular DFX, the CZ20 with the belt and nope, nothing worked (they both for sale now). My wife talked to a friend of mine who I used to hunt with and he recommended the Minelab 800. Well, it is much lighter for me and I was able to get out for 1 hour the other day. She also bought me a Lesche digger that was the exact height as my walking sticks to which I use that as my walking stick now. Worked out well. Hopefully little by little I can add some time but for now even a little is great for me. Here is a pic after my first time out in 6 years with the new 800. Take care everyone. There is always someone else worse off somewhere and never give up!
