  1. Wow! Thank you all for your replys.

I posted my question then got very busy getting ready and leaving for Lake Tahoe. Spending the 4th up at the lake.

Plan is to hit the beach with my ATX the fireworks crowds leave!

Okay back to dry washers. I was leaning puffer with battery, something a little more mobile, one to two man operation. Although if gold recovery is significantly better with a blower style unit I may be persuaded otherwise.

  2. Thanks for posting. I have the SPP so should apply to the SPP as well. I will have to try some 2900s for the longer run time, I have the ATX so I can use the Duracell 2650 mah NiMh AAs that it came with for both the ATX and SPP but the 2900 s run time sounds nice.

  3. TVANWHO. Riding a Rokon off trail is not going to harm the environment one bit! Have you seen the balloon tires on a Rokon, and the fact that it is two wheel drive equates to very little wheel spin so not likely to cause erosion.

In my opinion the environmentalist movement is more about government power and control over the population and limiting individual freedom and liberty than it is about the environment.

Hey mabe erosion from a dirt bike trail somewhere will expose some gold rich bedrock in the next 200 years! Future generations could have some new ground to prospect.

  4. Hey Steve,

I didn't feel like you were pushing the V3i at all. I asked what everyone likes and you gave me that and much more, so thank you for that!

I had forgotten about that Tesoro Compadre. A friend of mine had one and it is a very effective little detector.

I do like the V3i and the 22.5 kHz may be more sensitive to small gold than the 14 kHz MTX.

Also the price of the V3i isn't that expensive compared to my ATX and other gold prospecting PI detectors out there.

I will be looking forward to more results in your comparison betwen the V3i, F75, FORS Gold and CTX 3030.

    Thanks Steve.

  5. Alright so what is your favorite detector for hunting jewelry? Anyone can chime in here, just curious what is liked PI, VLF, discrimination ext.

All my detectors were bought with gold prospesting as the number one objective ATX, whites SPP and GMT. I think I am setup pretty well for a dig all approach although the GMT takes digging trash to a hole new level with tiny pieces of foil and the likes, but has the ability to find micro jewelry.

A couple of years ago I found a diamond stud on a beach in cal. Turned out to be a fake dimond but it was a small find none the less.
