    CT,

I was a beta tester as well and in my area, I initially had some issues with falsing.  I did a frequency shift and lowered the sensitivity to 7, and have no issues now.  Occasionally it will start to false but I just do a quick retune and it shuts up.  I have 11 pin-pointers and during my in ground testing comparison and subsequent use, the FPulse and Quest XPointer Max are deeper.  The Accupoint depth wise, has been equal to my MI6, unless the MI6 is paired with the D2 and the sens maxed out at 50…then the MI6 is deeper.  The Accupoint has been a great pin-pointer for me.

Good to hear that maybe it's not a product-wide issue.  Changing freq or sens did nothing for me.  There is always a chance that I DO in fact have a bad unit.  I'll be sure to include a link of the performance vid I hope to make soon.

Problem was, most of the time my Tek Point was going nuts in the air and in the ground. I tried everything in the book to remedy it. I even tried different locations and turning off my Legend. All of it to no avail. Turned out, it was defective right out of the box.

I've heard that kind of problem from a few people.  I was lucky enough to have no real issues with mine.  When it died it went pretty fast.  I'm hoping to put some kind of illustrative vid together on the Accupoint issues I'm seeing.  I'll be sure to let you all know.

Put it this way, if there were inherent issues as you described, then after the NDA, the main Legend's Facebook page, etc, would be filled with those complaints. Yet, that didn't occur. Nor did it occur on any other social media site.

I have seen at least one person on the FB page go into detail about the problems as soon as we were released from the NDA, and they were pretty much just as I described above.

And please don't take me for a Nokta-hater.  I adore my Legend and I really like the company.  I wanted to love my Accupoint, but so far that hasn't been the case.  Maybe I'm just spoiled at getting at least 3 inches depth with my first batch Tek Point for so long.

So, given that so far, you are the only one experiencing those issues, then isn't it a possibility that you may have a defective pinpointer?

I'll check those out.  But I'm not the only one.  I talked with 2 other beta testers that were experiencing the same issues.  Again, 3 or 4 out of however many they made isn't bad I suppose.  Unless you're the one that got stuck with the piece of crap.

  5. I don't think I've ever seen a real life dirt video review.  Just people unboxing it, a few air testing it, then singing its praises without actually even using it.
It's performed poorly since I got it during the beta test.  Air testing did fine, around 3 inches for most coins.  Hunting in the dirt I couldn't find targets til I was literally right on them.  Did some slow recovery with measuring the hole from when I finally got a signal and when I recovered the item, and it was always 1 inch (give or take maybe an 1/8 inch either way depending on target).  Even on shallow targets (per the Legend), I couldn't detect them from the surface with the Accupoint.  So I'd dig a shallow plug maybe 2 inches deep.  Just peel back the grass, really.  Nothing in the hole or bottom of the plug from the Accupoint.  Legend would say it's in the shallow plug, but I'd have to dissect the plug into bits until the Acupoint was almost touching it before getting a signal.  Very disheartening.
Ground balances at between 9 and 12 (depending on site).  Tried changing freq to alleviate falsing, but to no avail.
Short pressing the power button does retune it and stop the falsing, but everytime you do that you lose a little sensitivity.  So when it was giving such a piss poor depth performance already, I didn'nt like having to cripple it further just to be able to use it at all.
Since I was beta testing, I told Nokta about all of this, but received no reply.
I also have a Dr Otek MT6 Pro that I had purchased until my Accupoint arrived (my Tek Point finally died after about 7 years), and I have found that the Accupoint is as weak a pinpointer as that cheap POS.  Only thing it's got over the Dr Otek is that the Dr Otek is really sluggish, requiring you to hover over an in-range target for about a second or more before it will give a tone.

Got it today and going out tomorrow but I can tell you right now I love it. Definitely worth the wait.
I haven't tried out the discriminate feature yet but just the ability to come thru the headphones was the main thing I wanted. Nokta you have made a very cool pin pointer. Thanks!!!

Personally I have been very disappointed in it.  From heavy falsing in air and soil, to poor...very poor soil depth. I'm talking I've never picked up anything over 1 inch in the dirt.  I really wanted to love this pinpointer.  The headphones and connecting with the Legend are fantastic, though.  Just would like at least another inch in the dirt.

i have been using the Avantree Torus with my Legend and a few other detectors, and they have been working great, but I have been on a quest to find a set of Bone conduction headphones to use with my detectors, and I think I have finally found some also made by Avantree, these are a new product made by Avantree

    Link below to the Lingo's

    https://www.avantalk.com/collections/homepage-featured-products/products/lingo

Yep, not everyone ventures onto Facebook so I end up posting things to different forums also

there does seem to be some confusion from some on Facebook about the differences in Threshold being utilized on the Legend, and some think a reference threshold is a true or live threshold, they do not think that they are two different types, even had one person on Facebook to tell me I was full of crap in a PM, over that post on Facebook LOL

I wasn't dishing on you posting multiple places.  Just tryinmg to make a joke that I already knew it, only to reveal that the way I knew it was from you earlier...hehehe  Fail.  LoL

Just Learned something about the Legend today

I run in Gold mode 98% of the time, with my threshold set as low as I can get it in gold mode and still hear the faint mosquito buzz, my setting would be around 9-12 and the pitch of the threshold would be somewhere around 9-13 but it was always very hard to hear the threshold, even with the Legend volume set at 6 which is max Volume.

I already knew this.  But only because I read your post about it on FB earlier today.  hehehe
    Interesting tinkering!

  10. UPDATE:
I've been in contact with Nokta directly since there is no service center in my country (Japan). They asked I send them a video showing the problem and my warranty number.  That's it.  No long questionnaire or doubting my issue wasn't caused by me somehow.
End result, they are sending me a new pair of headphones. Entire process was very easy and my customer service rep Ceylan Önlek was super understanding and kind.
What a great customer service experience.

You didn’t say if you did just the volume up plus mode button combo (not both volume buttons). I know it’s just for clearing pairing memory but who knows, I was also thinking it would reset and reboot the phones.  At this point you will probably just have to let the battery die and see if it reboots.  On my Sony’s if I plug them into the charger, they are de-energized but they only have a momentary push button to turn on or turn off not a physical positional on-off switch like the Legend phones.  Maybe momentarily plugging them in to the charger will wake them up.  In any event. Good luck.

I'll give it a shot.  Thanks again.  I really appreciate the ideas.

I was thinking that too about maybe it would reset when the battery finally dies.  Thing is these headphnes last FOREVER on a single charge!  hahaha

  12. First, I want to say thanks for the help and ideas.

It's not a pairing problem at this point.  The headphones are frozen in an "On", but undiscoverable condition.  I've been using them with my laptop exclusively for a few months now, but this suddenly happened last night.
Cleared the headphones out of both computer and phone Paired Devices list, but now neither my phone or computer 'sees' them in the Pair New Device list.

Switching them On or Off does nothing.  Won't even turn them Off.  Light just stays on.  It's been on since about an hour before my original post.
I've tried holding both volume buttons for up to 30 seconds with no results.  Also tried both volume + the Mode button (all three simultaneously) for the same amount of time but with no results.

    Frustrating and baffling

  13. Anyone heard of this problem (and hopefully a solution)?

Turned on my Legend headphones to use with my laptop. I usually get two voice confirmations, "Connecting" "Connecting" (probably because it connects with both my laptop and phone).
Just now, I only got one "Connecting" prompt (which was my phone), and it wouldn't connect to the laptop. Figured I'd switch it off and on again, but then it won't turn off (green light stays on)....but still no sound.  Now neither the phone nor laptop can find it...says it's not on, even though the green light shows.  Any idea if there's a way to do a hard reset? Headphones busted?

  14. I don't know about developer tools, but I wondered if something like that was happening.  Thanks for the info.  You could've edited other things than my info though.  You make it look like divining rods aren't legitimate...  ahaha

  15. Recently heard someone make the claim that in any of the Multi settings (as well as Park or Field), 60 tone detects items better than 6 tones, and Pitch tone beats them all.  Is this true?  Why would Pitch tone detect better/deeper than another tone setting?  Doesn't make sense to me, as I thought that was just how it notifies you of a target vs changing the actual detecting parameters.
I've used 6 Tone since I got the Legend, but am now wondering if I should get used to 60 or Pitch...

  16. I was under the impression that EMI was a relatively constant thing.  As in, if it's there, it's constant (more or less).

Reason I bring this up is I was at a site that had Hella EMI with a large telecommunications tower and power station about 100 yards away.  The Legend actually performed well even at full power (sens 30), but what I found odd is that while swinging the coil, most of the EMI was not detected.  Just the occasional pop or beep.  As soon as I stopped swinging, however (to dig a target or something), the EMI would show up in all it's glory!  Happened on Multi Freq as well as all single freqs.  Even after noise cancelling.  Is that normal to be virtually gone while swinging the coil then slam the detector as soon as it's stationary?  Or is this something the Legend is able to do in order to combat EMI?

Scott complains about the Fisher F-Pulse several times in the linked video.

As a person who has thousands and thousands (not an exaggeration) of hours using an F-Pulse and hundreds of hours using one with the Legend, there are two things that he was doing that I absolutely don’t do.

I never put the coil right next to the dig hole when I am using an F-Pulse/Tek-Point.

I also never put a shovel or any other large metallic object near my F-Pulse/Tek-Point when turning it on or using it.

These are extremely sensitive pinpointers. So, his complaints in my opinion were operator error. Not criticizing him for the sake of criticizing. I just want other users and potential users to know that what I saw in that video was totally normal pinpointer behavior for that brand of pinpointer.

I agree completely.  Been using a Tek Point from the first batch released.  Bought it the first month of release and still use it.  Absolutely love it.
