  1. My first run with 1.1 got me a nice ornate silver and a plai  looking small gold ring that were less than a foot apart. Also the usual amount of coins etc. The thing that I'm finding with the deus II  while trying to test these updates, is that I really can't expect it to behave the same way in the same soil day to day or,  Daytime vs night-time.  The signals that I expext to hear  just keep changing.  Maybe it's just that time of year where the soil is really dry, especially during the day. I wish I could manually adjust the ground balance. (JUST TO SEE). But for now,  I find that testing a few targets from my test pack in the soil really goes a long way to helping.

So far, I'm just putting in the time...

  2. Don't worry, they will warranty it. But first, just to save you a lot of trouble. If you purchased it from a brick and Mortar,  Contact them fitst. They will handle the repair/ warranty or direct you to the nearest distributor to ship it off to. If you bought it online, look up the distributor closest to you. It will be days before you get a response from XP directly.

  3. I doubt it's your actual internet connection. If anything, it's the router, firewall, or some other settings down stream.  But you have to work backwards to find the issue. Start with settings in your egde web browser. If you don't have Microsoft Edge installed and are using an old internet explorer, it probably won't work at all.

  4. I've posted that link many times now. Just click on it. No need to cut paste. Just click on that link right from the message that Chase posted above. It should go straight to the login page.  Its safe. Again, just double click on link Chase provided and let us know what happens. If you can, take a screenshot of the screen that you are seeing the ERR  time out message.

I'm on PC. I have tried on Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Last night I had the idea that not many would be there. So I tried ERR.Timed. Out. Could be that my internet is so slow. I believe I have created the account. If the account is created, is there a web address different to go to? Nah, it will not let me go to the Create account page. Hey, you-all, I appreciate your help and we'll get her. I tried last night from 11-1 pm est. Thanks, ever so much.

Your account  will only have been created if you got an email saying so. Other wise, use the link above. Those (2) are the only ones you need. Remember that "https://www.xpmetaldetectorsamericas.com"  IS NOT the right site.

That site is no longer valid, not sure why it's even still up! Confuses more than it helps!

If you are trying to sign up on that site, you will simply get nowhere!!!!

    Here is the link again.

    https://updater.xpmetaldetectors.com/#/login

click on Create account again and make a new account, then check your email. Check junk mail/ spam too! Once you get that email, confirm it and you're good to try again.

  6. Really want to see you get through this.

What platform are you using Mac or PC?

Are you maybe going to the old site at https://www.xpmetaldetectorsamericas.com/warranty-registration

That site shouldn't even exist. Xp has told me themselves that this site is no longer valid.

    The actual link is at

    https://www.xpmetaldetectors.com/en/

The very first prompt you get is to accept cookies. From there you select my account at top. That gets you to the following link at :

    https://updater.xpmetaldetectors.com/#/login

there you give an email and create a password. At that point you vet an email sent to you saying that you're now registered (otr something like that). Then you log into the website again and it takes you to a page that only says "connect your device ". Which you click on. Is this where you are getting stuck?

  7. I'm going to make xp wait until later tonight or tomorrow before I do the update. Mostly cause I'm on my wait out anyway. But love what I am hearing, especially being able to change top end frequency in each program.  Liked the mono program for that...

I can see the warranty as an advantage though. So is it 5 years on workmanship and 10 years on parts? I know of the 5 years, but never heard about that 10 year thing that losfinder mentioned.

Also, the wireless aspect is one of those love or hate things. From what I've read, a lot more people complain about it, then say good things about it.

The 10yr parts guarantee, is something I came across. It's basically that XP will guarantee parts for their detectors will be available to make repairs or replacement for 10yrs.

The actual warranty is stil only 5yrs. But it's nice to know that if I need a part 8yrs from now, XP will still have it. (Not that it may necessarily be worth buying it versus something new).

But, it gives me that extra bit of confidence in the product and the company. Obviously they are saying this is a product they will continue to support for quite a while. Just like the original DEUS was.

I also have to agree about the wireless thing being a preference. I also can't speak too much to using it in water yet. I have only made it into about a foot of water so far.

But one of the reasons for buying it, was that I got anxiety whenever using my nox 800 in water. It never flooded, but it's been out of warranty for 2 yrs now. I just rather not risk it at this point.  I do love the wireless aspect when it comes to transporting my detector and also packing it away when I take it out with my bike. Sure the nox broke down and fit too, but with a lot more work and worry about the cable and cable nub on coil damaging inside the backpack.

Bottom line is that I would not consider either  wired or wireless to be a deal breaker. But now that I am wireless, I can appreciate it, so far...

I just want to help anyone looking at a DEUS II, to overcome some concerns they may have. One which I had, was to be made to think the DEUS II is overly complicated. It maybe for some, but I really have to put this out there...

As far as the RC unit goes, I really don't find that to be the case at all!

I actually enjoy navigating it's menu. A few things I use often took a few more button presses than I would have prefered. But I quiclkly found that I could just make a separate program and just switch between those.

Ex: two programs that are the same, but one is XY the other numeric ID. One is pitch, the other square or pmw. .

I can now just switch the program to the XY version or a different sound profile by using only the -and + keys. It's actually faster than it was engaging the user profile button on the nox. And there is 12 available! Also, square is what I was use to and most of the time I ears think I am still using a nox, my shoulder knows better though. 😉

And to be fair, something that I dislike is the two separate buttons needed for the pin pointer on/off mode.  But I'm getting use to it. I also bet that some people even prefer it.

Sorry, I had to get that off my chest.

  9. Those dirt cheap items are still in addition to the same Ole stuff that makes up a coil. Plus we're talking a 5yrs warranty and 10yr parts guarantee. Anyone seen the prices of some of those extended warranties? 😔 Maybe saving money in areas such as coil ear thickness would help get that price down a bit, but i am ok with XP not doing that! Nothing like trying to sell your used equipment down the line with obvious repairs done. Some I've seen were really atrocious looking white goop jobs too.  In this case, I think I may splurge a bit. But to each his own.

I'm also not trying to justify the cost of these coils to the average person. But in relation to the cost of dumb coils for the top machines, I just don't think it is as much of a stretch.

Yes compared to the Nokta legend or vanquish line, it would appear ridiculous. But for the $150 to $175 extra that extra 2yrs warranty, 10yr parts guarantee and oh ya it's wireless! I'm in.

I also really appreciate the weight of this machine so much. I picked an older simplex a few weeks ago at a friend's place and couldn't believe how heavy it felt, there was a time when I didn't think so.

  10. Here in Canada Ctx coils from. Both minelab and coiltek are $425- $490. All of the 3 available Deus II coils are $523 each. Considering that the Deus II coils are smart, wireless and have a battery inside, the price is more than resonable. Though, yes. I would still prefer they be cheaper!😁  Heck even the equinox's coiltek $373 and minelab 15" coil $314 are not that much cheaper considering they aint wireless or have no batteries to add to cost( not even going to talk about build quality). Maybe I'm just stuck in the cordless  comes at a bit of premium era?

  11. I have found that the MI-6 needs to be In front of the RC when powering it on. If the RC is behind me, it sometimes does not switch over. So now, I lay my detector further forward, then grab the ponpointer and hit the power button while it's infront of the RC (Screen side). I think maybe the wifi stream between the coil and RC interferes with the MI-6 pairing? Anyway, just a guess there, but that's what I find works for me
