  1. After trying an MX3 I decided I did not like it so I got rid of it and got an MX Sport...so far trying it in my yard and test garden....I am one happy camper (detectorist). Now to really learn this machine.
  2. Hi all Just joined and would like some help.I detect in Cornwall UK and Spain’s Costa Blanca. Owned quite a few detectors over the years inc CTX 3030. The old Whites Spectrum (great detector) Thinking of buying a used MX Sport but really want to know if all the bugs have been sorted re the firmware upgrades, and is the warranty (2yrs ? )Transferable. Would appreciate any help
  3. This specification comparison chart is derived from the White's MX7 Owner's Manual and the White's MX Sport Owner's Manual. Everything is pretty straight forward. The asterisks note that the MX7 weight with batteries is derived from the manual. The MX Sport manual is unclear on whether batteries are included in the weight and my personally weighing the MX Sport with batteries suggests the answer is no. The MX Sport with batteries weighs 4.23 lbs. as weighed on my postal scales. I can't vouch for the MX7 weight as listed in the manual. Current internet price for MX Sport is $749.00 and MX7 $549

  5. Tom from White’s made a statement that the color of the MX 7 had to do with the day it would hit the market. All know that we see orange everywhere on Halloween. Now with that said will it hold true on the hint that Tom drop. Maybe it could be what Halloween is all about and that’s Trick or Treat. Intil tomorrow when we’ll all know. Chuck

  7. hello fellow detectorist out there, Hi from a land far far away, my maxy have problem which when i turn it off , i cant turn it back on. The only way to get it to turn on is to pull out the battery altogether. Even when its on, it will turn off randomly. The way its shut down is like something pressed the on/off button ( what im trying to say is its turn off randomly with beeps like proper shutdown. Sorry cant describe it properly since english is not native. ) I have already done the factory reset and change new batteries, but the problem are still there. Is there any w
  8. Well I received my December 2017 mag from Lost Treasure today and just on the inside of the first page is the new MX 7. This has to be the same detector that Tom has been swinging around with a orange ring around the face. White's is offering you a look at the detector by way of a video on their site. The only thing said is a test was done with a 8.5 gram 14K gold ring at 14 inches saying gonna need a bigger shovel. I guess to find out more we all need to look at White's video on this detector. Chuck 10/30 edit - you can find the latest White’s MX7 Details & Specifications H
  9. Been thinking about picking up a 7" or 9.5" coil for the MXS. I've seen one review on YT on the 9.5 but nothing on the 7" They said the 9.5 looses very little depth over the stock 10" and pin points better. How much depth loss would the 7" have over the 10" and how well does the pin pointing work with the 7"? I've been detecting the fresh water lakes with a lot of trash and cant seem to hone in on my pin pointing. Thanks in advance. Sod.
  10. What a weekend! I had the opportunity to head out to Idaho for an event put on by Spud Diggers/Ultimate Metal Detectors and meet some members of this forum who attended. Great group of guys on an old Chinese gold mine with an old townsite. Many layers of history going back from the 1870s to the 1930s, and lots of tin - yuck! I followed the Oregon Trail out there, and planned to represent the White's factory at the event since we were sponsoring the event. My fingers were crossed for relics, but I knew that since it was an active mine years ago there was a chance at finding some other type
  11. Hello there, After few months of heavy used at waterfall, beach and dirt, I'm happy that the MX sport didn't have crack, leakage issue . I'm still learning the language of the MX sports.. Still didn't understand about the threshold, what it use for, what does it tell me when the hum disappear in a brief of time especially at high mineralized ground like beach. And I still not confident using the relic mode, too much information its giving out for me . Thank you very much. HH
  12. The White's MX Sport is now one of the only "all terrain" metal detectors that comes standard with waterproof headphones. Most waterproof to 10 feet detectors do not come with the waterproof headphones required to make them truly submersible. The MX Sport is now ready for mask and snorkel work right out of the box.
  13. Sure could use some help on this one. This is NOT a post to bash my new found family member. She is very sensitive and goes deeper then I care to dig (all day) My first Sport didn't take to the water all that well so I called that sweet lady at Whites and she had a new machine out that day. ( God Bless Her ) When the new machine arrived I was a little under the weather and wasn't able to unbox her and run but that gave me time to do a some research on an old overgrow park. The first four hours she was finding coins, jewelry, Junk and of cores my favorite pull tabs like you
  14. To enter you can go on line or mail your answer in. The question is how deep is the MX Sport certified waterproof and that is up to 10 feet. 15. Setting up the White's MX Sport for depth on coins and relics running the DeTech Ultimate 13 DD coil.
  16. Hi there, new member here , First off all, English is not my 1st language, learnt it through online gaming and professor google translator. OK I'm from Malaysia and I would like to buy the MX sports. After doing some research, its seems that the detector has some problem that need to be rectify via sending back to factory. This will be a problem for me if I needed to send the detector back to US, money and time wise. I read from various, sites and forum that some of the detectors are going great but some or not due to the software and crack issues. In other word, Is there any guaran
  17. can someone tell me what is the best coil for fresh water with MX sport on jewelry
  18. Tom, one of my requirements for a fresh water detector is the ability to see targets under cold rocks. I'm in the northern lower peninsula of Michigan where they are abundant in a few lakes and beaches around here. DD coils usually take care of this but I need to be sure. Thanks Tom Z
  19. Detech I just wanted you to know I ordered your 7 in. DD coil for my MX Sport last week and I got it today. It looks finer than fog hair and solid as a rock. I had to put it on right away and fire up my MXS. I had to check the sen and depth with both looking great. Hope to get in the field soon but now it's colder than a well diggers butt and until it warms up I won't be going out. Just too young and tender !haha Thanks for a great coil and White's also sent me their calendar for 2017. Chuck
  20. Tom------If a person purchases a MX Sport---How do you know/how can you tell if you are purchasing one of the latest produced ones (one with the very latest "improvements")?--------Thanks------------Del
  21. The DeTech 13" Ultimate is one of the nicer coils I have ever used, very light in weight for its size, and very good performance. White's now has a version available on their website at https://www.whiteselectronics.com/product/13-detech-ultimate-mx-sport-coil/ Part number 801-3263 $179.95 includes coil cover. This joins the 7" round DD coil made by DeTech that White's recently released for the MX Sport https://www.whiteselectronics.com/product/7-detech-mx-sport-coil/ Part number 801-3262 $149.95 includes coil cover.
  22. How many nails can one machine take? I ran out - If you guys would like to see something specific for a video please let me know! I have a vial of nuggies I can use to show gold response next. But its pouring up here so I might have to wait for a break in the weather.
