  1. Was under the impression that the mxt was a superb beach machine , especially with the reviews received . Danny
  2. Thanks John and rick, I'm going beach detecting over the long weekend with the sovereign and nel coil but I don't see the need to keep it , I can sell it with the nell coil , the sdc is sold for a good price , so will have enough to pick up a second hand mxt from j66 in Oregon and a second hand GPX from Gerrys metal detectors , not counting the jewellery and coins found . So I'm thinking I would break even and pick up a couple of quality metal detectors danny
  3. Yeah point taken , bugger is the word that comes to mind . You llve and learne or learne the hard way . I had jumped in and ordered a nel before I joined this forum based o online reviews . Anyways thanks Rick and John once again .
  4. Jim still has his mxt pro for sale will call him in Oregon to say hellow and talk about his detector
  5. That is impressive seeing 4 feet , the dd coil is specific for the sovereign , once you order a coil is produced and tested for a couple of days , then shipped , I wonder if it would fit the mxt though ? Interesting point
  6. You would hope they would have beer in them so you can crack one open for a hard earned thirst
  7. Yup , the sovereign is going up for sale anyway , just going to test the coil out and use it on an mxt away from the beach . Like previously said will use whites coils unless advised otherwise . How did you feel digging 4 feet for a can ? I would be mentally scarred for at least a day lol
  8. Oh my nel attack dd arrived from the ukrain today , will give a go on the sovereign before the mxt , when one comes along
  9. Yeah shall do john , see what phase tech says , 4500 are back in fashion here so they must go okay
  10. So your saying then the difference between the GPX 5000 and GPZ 7000 is x and z where ( x + z = 2000) . And x stands for X-ray induction and z stands for ........ I don't know .... Zigfreid ? Lol
  11. Great information on second hand GPX models , is there much difference between 4500 and a 5000
  12. Thanks John , I've got about 30 different detectors running through my mind , to the point i almost forgot my name, then I realised it was Danny because it is on my account . If I don't get a second hand mxt I have an eye on one on eBay and gumtree . A second hand GPX anyone ? Danny
  13. J66(Jim) has a second hand mxt in all pro config with coils ,looks the goods , will take it if he responds . Do you boys know anyone selling a GPX 5000 in U.S. Willing to sell here , if so I would jump on that like a crazy man
  14. Yeah John , need to correct what i write , I'm going with the mxt and GPX Second hand . Those 2 detectors would cover all bases from beach to difficult terrain . Purchasing a gpz and deepseeker would be beyond my experience . I would need to be Steve and then some . Issue is finding second hand GPX machines , mxt's you can find online but GPX detectors second hand are elusive , and there is probably good reason for that
  15. John was referring to the gpz and garrett mxt . As a novice would settle on the whites and second hand GPX for dedicated gold prospecting . danny
  16. The UK would be a fascinating place to relic hunt and coin hunt. The history is so rich , what detector would you use there john. Danny
  17. Yes I heard about kilkoy , the rivers run down from the bunyas I believe ?. It's also just a quick sip up Cunningham hwy from year to areas in Toowoomba , I have friends with property in the area , but not yet prospected . I don't like tolgai and the couple of designated areas. Gympie is close to you there, i heard there was some still worth going for
  18. Not that I would purchase those machines john , but more dream about the combination and potential finds from such great revised machines , 15k for a gpz , deepseeker combo ...................
  19. So for me to start with I'm now looking for a whites mxt and a GPX second hand . Thanks to everyone for your input, knowledge and help in explaining the various aspects of being a detectoris. Danny
  20. I have read every review Steve had written , and with his wealth of knowledge , the above 2 would be absolute cracker detectors not taking into account price Danny
