My dealer received from Minelab USA an email requesting how many M-8, M-9 and M-15 coil he wanted to order?  He ordered 2 each but he has not received any accessory coils yet.

Has anybody received the 9 inch coil which is called the M-9?

I only water hunt in the ocean and I have preordered a M-9 to increase my chances of finding gold chains.

Beach hunters need salt sensitivity control for even greater depth.

Do not forget to do a reset after downloading the older software.

I am an ocean water hunter.   To be able to hear the Manticore while water hunting.  I am using Tony Eisenhower impedance matched headphone.  I set the volume at 21.  With the new louder volume settings for water hunters.  My new volume setting is now 15  using Tony Eisenhower impedance matched headphone. 

The stock setup works great at the beach.  

Two day ago, I got a 14K diamond ring.  The weight was 2.2 grams and the ID numbed was 8.

I have both the 9 inch and the 11 inch coil.  While the 11 inch coil does cover a little more area.  I can run the 9 inch coil hotter in areas that have EMI.  And using the 9 inch coil in a 15  inch or more deep hole is easier.  I really think that the Deus 2 was designed around the 9 inch.

Both of my Dues 2 have Tony Eisenhower headphones! Also, my Equinox 800 and my Manticore has Tony Eisenhower headphones.

Steve, I agree that the side buttons are difficult to work.  I think that I am a lot older than you.  I will turn 87 this weekend.

Last night I kept doing a factory reset using the power on button until it really did a factory reset. I now can do a long noise cancel again!  I used to be an IBM electronics' technician.  And sometimes, you just got to keep doing what is needed to fix the problem until the electronic say you win.

My Manticore has a problem now.    I can no longer do the long-press noise cancel now. It only does the short noise cancelling like on the Equinox. It was working fine for the long-press noise cancel. I have done the factory reset several times both ways. Everything else appears to work okay.  Any suggestions?

My coil bolt kept coming loose until I really tighten it up.  I do like the cable tie idea. And I will try that idea.

Gerry, thanks for saying that the audio volume is not enough for ocean water hunters.  Even using the best headphones available. The volume is not enough for people that dives.  Hopefully a software update can correct this problem.  And this is the only problem that the Manticore has that I have found being only an ocean hunter.

I always used tracking on my Equinox 800.  But the Deus 2 really allows me to fine tune to conditions of the beach I that am hunting.

I just go for the most stable silent operation. I keep trying different settings for Salt Sensitive, Reactivity with tracking on or off while in the Beach Sensitive mode.  In short, I do whatever is needed to enable my Deus 2 to operate silent.  There is no magic setting that works on every beach.  

Here in Hawaii, I use Salt Sensitive set at 1 in the ocean water.  Most beaches that I hunt allow me to use tracking, but some do not allow me to use tracking.

My link to the manual that I had failed.  So I download from XP the manual again.  This version is easier to read.  I agree that there should be a date or version number.
