  1.      I have used the Avantree Pro Bluetooth transmitter and receiver set for some time. They work great.  The delay is 32 milliseconds (.032 sec). If you are swinging the coil at three feet per second you will hear the target (36” x .032) = 1.152 inches after you cross over it. When moving the coil slowing while pinpointing the delay is insignificant.
If you purchase these be sure you are ordering the Low Latency Pro model. They have a cheaper set that has an unacceptable delay time.
    Have a good day,

Thank you for much needed information; it provides a lot to work with the next time out with the GPZ 14 coil.  I am eager to receive the GPZ 19 coil which is on order.

    A few questions:

Is it the larger area of the 19” coil allowing it to obtain a better average measurement of the soil and mineralization to allow it to run smoother? Then does this smoothed average provide a better reference for comparison to provide a better target signal to ground noise ratio?

In reference to; “correct range of coil motion in relation to the depth of the target”.  Does this mean use wide coil swings for deep wide target responses and shorter coil swings for sharp narrow target responses?

You use a B&Z booster with twin speakers.  Is the B&Z booster just a better quality amplifier are is there some kind of signal altering occurring within it?  Likewise is there something special with the twin speakers?

Thank you for your assistance and have a good day,
    Chet

  3.    A fix that has worked well is to wrap the Garrett pin pointer with heavy aluminum foil.  The bottom of a throw away pie or cake pan is good.  Cover it from just below the speaker hole down past the tip.  The foil needs to overlap to make an electrical short circuit around the probe.  Keep the pin pointer inside the foil until the final gluing has set.  Wrap the foil with black Gorilla Duct tape.  Line the inside of the Garrett belt holster with GOO glue then insert the assembled shield with the probe still inside to keep the foil from collapsing.
I have used this for the GPX 5000 and the GPX 7000 with no problems.  This shields the pin pointer internal coil from the detector but the aluminum foil can still be detected at a greatly reduced signal level.  Experiment with locations on your body to get the greatest separation between the coil swing and the aluminum foil.  Slightly behind your left or right side depending on which arm you swing with seems to work.  Attached to the backside of your finds or trash pouch is a good location.
When using the pin pointer the coil needs to be positioned as far away as practical for the terrain.
    Have a good day,
    Chet
