I received my Equinox 600 today. Bought from Cabelas, dropped shipped from Minelab Americas (Naperville, Illinois). 6 business days delivered (4 - 7 days quoted). I bought aptx earbuds and headphones from Amazon (2 days delivered). Hoping to get out with it tomorrow after work for a quick hunt. 

This one came out of my yard in San Diego last year during a retaining wall demo. I handled it a few times saving rock from the spoil pile, knew it was unusually heavy and set it aside. I went back to it after the project was complete and cleaned it. Tree rings visible on one side. Cuts and edges are fairly clean...almost looks chopped. Pretty cool! I have definitely become more observant since detecting ( looking down and around).

I canceled my preorder for the 800 but now considering the 600. I have heard there are a few floating around the Internet. Primarily a beach hunter, the 600 may be the ticket for me. I utilize 50 tones on CTX almost exclusively on the beach. APTX earbuds can be had for less than $30. I have some concerns about the Equinox being hyper sensitive to tiny specks of canslaw and foil but that video of it hitting the gold chain in saltwater is impressive to say the least.

My dealer let me know that he was receiving a whopping TWO units, and that I'm #8 on the list, and likely will not see it for some time. 

Not anybodies fault really, but I'm starting a new job next month, and it'll be an exceedingly time consuming job for the foreseeable future, and my wife and I are expecting our first this summer, so that likely will put my detecting on the back-burner until fall.  By then, hopefully, the Equinox will no longer be a unicorn.   Until we started observing that the receive date was such a moving target, I had really anticipated receiving it by some time in January, or at least February, certainly not in March or April, although as the pieces of the puzzle started to land into place, that picture was becoming more in focus.   Hope it works for everyone as much as we are anticipating it will.  

 

I am canceling and picking up my refund tomorrow. I prepaid early October...was not given a choice. He is receiving 1 - 2 units with no solid date or numbers for 2nd shipment. They are "hoping" to have preorders filled by end of March. ALOT can happen financially and in life within 4 months. For me, it's increasing property taxes (So. CA) and house projects. I just can't have nearly $1,000 tied up any longer, possibly another 2 months. I may own one in the future...just not now. The CTX 3030, Excal II and Dual Field have been working very well for me!

Gerry, are you at liberty to say the # of units you will be receiving? My dealer had no information today. Seriously considering canceling my fully paid preorder for a refund. If I'm going to wait, I'll wait until they are on the shelves (eBay). No pricing on accessories is a factor also.

I am pretty sure we won't have to wait long for after market carbon fiber shafts. I would be interested in a one piece carbon fiber upper shaft for local sites.  Use the stock aluminum 2 piece shaft for travel.  There is a one piece carbon fiber upper available for the gold monster on eBay.  Steve, are the outer and inner diameters of the gold monster upper shaft the same as the equinox?

Does the Multi Kruzer run 5kHz, 14kHz and 19kHz all simultaneously? Or just selectable single frequencies? Thanks.
