  1. A warm rainy day nothing frozen so I took the AQ to a fresh  water beach I have been to countless times.

After about an hour I heard what I was listening for a quick quiet targetI took one scoop and checked the hole it was still there,

now I become more interested as a lot of the time the weak sounds are small lead fishing weights which are down about 4 inches.

a few more scoops and it was out.

  2. I my self do not clean them,  By the time they look like that value is minimal. When they are clean and shiney they look just like the clad that I am tired of digging in my older beaches or my pocket .

When I look in my box of black and gray cookies they remind me of all the times I looked in the scoop to see them lying on the bottom.   These black cookies are becoming harder to come by.

  3. All of what OBN said is spot on.

What I can add is that up in the Northeast most of our fresh water beaches or swim areas were replenished with sand in the late 50s and 60s .  I would suggest digging down in different areas to see how deep the sand is and if it is all the same. if the depth of sand goes way beyond the reach of your detector be happy picking fresh drops if you hit a hard bottom at a depth your detector could be capable of hitting then you could work that area very slow with much higher odds of finding silver or old gold.

If it makes a sound dig it.

  4. Here art some pics of what you are looking for. Unfortunately the handle is the the base.

the small piece is a hip mount.   I know of a person who is very good at designing for a 3 d  printer, I could ask him to design a base plate if you have access to a printer. If you could least make the base plate with the 3 holes to mount to the detector then make it work to attach to a shaft.

  5. THANK YOU SHN for letting me get my feet wet with the AQ.

The part I had the most trouble with was pinpointing a shallow target once I got the target out of the hole,

being chest deep and digging in running sand I dont have the time to check each scoop, I dig and dump piles next to each other so when I go back to check witch pile the target is in I can now judge by the strength of the signal witch scoop pile it should be in.

Missing in the pic is a silver wave ring that has already been claimed.

Joe you have helped many others including myself keep it up, Thank You
