    Hi Steve, guys.

Nice work on adapting the mono pod Steve!

I've been wanting to up grade the shaft to make my equinox more compact for hiking, car storage and travel. I only use mine for gold or treasure, no beach work for me so the colapsable telescope design is perfect. After looking around I ordered this Shaft:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Lightweight-Telescopic-Carbon-Fibre-Shaft-for-Minelab-Equinox-600-800-MD/353092024374?hash=item5235ecb836:g:RCwAAOSwztde0qvA

It looks ok to me, I'll report back on what its like.

And I figure if it is flimsy or I break it I will use the parts and adapt the same mono pod as you Steve.

Oh I didn't see this post before I posted that post to the particular thread this shaft is amazing I got one there killer they rotate so you can lock it inside rotation for easy packing this is amazing detector you can use it for diving field beach whatever you want this is going to be the most lightweight and very sturdy strong detector shaft you will ever get for the Minelab Equinox and it comes with a mount I mean everything included is the best one I've ever had and I've had them all literally

  2. Hey Steve have you seen or heard of this company. Pretty much like a golden mask rebuild for the Equinox but it comes with a mounted piece the connects the control pod to the mount with provided screws in the package and the mount wraps around the shaft. I found the perfect distance for myself with it and epoxied the mount but it didn't need it I just did it for extreme security I guess. But then as stated the pod screwed down to the mount. Extremely light. Extra strong and sturdy and honestly the twist cams on this baby are awesome and allows for supper easy packing cause you can turn coil sideways. Also it is absolutely the only shaft you'll need for underwater hunting, beach, field. Or whatever. Truly best I have ever seen. And they're just now taking off and being posted on Instagram and Facebook. Not to mention the best arm cuffs available. I mean if you don't want them breaking. Well these and the Detect-Ed arm cuffs. They're both metallic. The yoke has some sort of fastened foam cushions for the coil ears. Which I like way better. I don't feel like I might break it swinging it. I think some of you guys will appreciate this one.

Hello there... I am quite surprised with this post. It is true that we refer customers to Kellyco because  they are the authorized repair center. It is just more convenient for people in the USA. However, once we refer them to Kellyco, we assume that the problem is being handled and the customer is taken care of. Can you please do me a favor and email me with details of your issue and I will personally make it right for you.  dilek@noktadetectors.com

See I keep telling people. Look how professional Dilek is. Sorry but she goes above and beyond. I know some old-school guys are like die hard "Chevy" fans or "Ford" fans and love the products regardless of their flaws and the fact it's USA made and I'm opened minded new school. I'm like I don't care as long as she's a all around good product. And I don't care if it's not made in the USA oh well. Lol. Volkswagen, Ferrari, Subaru. China, Germany, Iraq, Japan and Korea or better yet I'm sticking with the Turkish people on this one. Turkish airlines here I come. Lol. Seriously people open your eyes and see. Minelab isn't made in America, but so many Minelab users as I used to be (hence) won't even try or even except a Turkish product I way better built, has way deeper depth and impeccable and rather amazing customer service relations. Actually should be the Pinnacle of every manufacturer. But there is that many Dilek's. Sorry for your luck guys.

I got a email the other day from the company telling me how great this new detector called Simplex is . I’ve already been reading about the Simplex on the forum here but I had to go over all that’s offered on it again.

I don’t know where they ever came up with the name Simplex. Oh don’t get me wrong it looks as if a bird brain like me could run it  .What I want is how they can sell it at such a low price with all this Simplex has other than just detect ?

I’ve had different businesses over the years and when I seen the price of the Simplex . I was thinking maybe they haven’t heard the words of profit/loss.

I see it now, everybody and their brother plus their sister with her kids will be out there swinging this so called Simplex.

I guess we could start a rumor that your hair will fall out if you use one . That wouldn’t do me any good half of mine is gone already.

Dilek I wish you the very best on the sale of the Simplex. A guy like me with nine grandkids and my two youngest just got married I need a less expensive detector.

     The Best!

     Chuck

PS At Christmas time I don’t sing Joy to the world anymore.haha

Dilek is a great customer service representative. She also knows what it takes to run a business. Without sacrifice there is no victory. She puts everything into something she absolutely believes in. She will also make you believe it to. Nokta Makro knew absolutely what they were doing when putting her in the position she's in and that's why they are leading in the industry now. Nokta Makro makes superb products at a cheaper price. They are able to do so because of where they live. Creating a excellent product for half the budget. They capitalized on a opportunity and siezed it. Congratulations Nokta Makro..... I Nate Williams stand by this statement. Nokta Makro Simplex giving all competition a run for their money and no machine is deeper. And Nokta Makro is made of heart and quality.....

What’s up is if you don’t want to use the forum leave. If you want help via email contact the person who sold you the detector. If you want help via the forum use the forum. Repeated requests to have people email you raise red flags with me as scammers do hit this site. You may be completely innocent but you are only seeing your perspective.

People here are happy to help you unlike whoever sold you the detector apparently, so copping an attitude does not get you far with me. I almost banned you just now but will see how you respond first.

I'm sorry. I just frustrated severally... Other vdi come through great. Not lower ones. Can I keep ground balance at zero and just run with it or no on the beach

  6. First and foremost I don't come at me with no bs about why I asked someone to email me. I'm a beginner metal detectorist and have knowledge that I have read. But when it comes to experience hands on it's another. I don't have any other motive than to get why my detector is having audio problems with low vdi numbers.... On beach with auto ground tracking.... So I ain't on no other be Steve. I'm wondering what exactly you mean by that. So what's up?

If Vanquish hits before Simplex, game on.  Garrett needs to start innovating, or they are toast.  They haven't done anything interesting since they introduced thd AT series.  The AT Max is just a warmed over AT Pro.  It is a race to the bottom folks, the only market left that Garrett has significant market share.  None of these forthcoming entry level detectors interest me personally, but the detector market implications are interesting.

I agree and the fact is they need to let someone else who is willing to take risk like Nokta Makro and create maybe a simultaneous two frequency detector at a entry level price and about the same features as the Simplex to not go horribly overboard in cost but that would be a smart smart move or even at $100.00 more than the Simplex price.... With a format like the Equinox where you can boost the higher or lower frequency by park one and two, field and beach..... Be really smart..... That's their next move

  9. What about the pinpointer. Does anyone have a problem with the pinpointer not working right? I mean I Know how to pinpoint. I turn 90 degrees and go over the item. I believe it's something to do with my machine... Because sometimes it will say it's under the coil. 11" and it's not. It's way off... Like I'm getting kinda frustrated I even bought a EQX 600 and that's sad because i see other people who have problems and some who dont

Please don't panic as what you are describing may be caused by your own settings and very dependent to what Mode you are using and one of your settings which I believe may not help is you are using "Tracking Ground Balance" this has caused me to be concerned in the past when I was tempted to use it and one thing which I had noticed was my Equinox 800 would give off a slight spitting signal and the VDI numbers would move all over the show and then I would lose all audio but when I moved away  then returned of the previous signal zone I would go through the same annoyance again and it was only after I had started to dig in the area of the dubious signal and using my pinpointer probe I actually found a hammered silver cut quarter penny and this was identical when trying to gain a repeat signal from very small hammered silver coins, it was my own perseverance to eliminate this audio problem that I realised all of the misbehaving cured when I reverted to "Manual Ground Balance" with the head away from the signal source and remaining in "Manual GB" and all of the problems were coming about through my detector being in the "Tracking GB" setting as the more i moved the coil over the weak signal the more the Equinox was Ground Balancing out the signal and eventually no audio.

Hope you get the Equinox sorted soon and it is worth trying Manual GB.

Thanks man I appreciate your input... I'm going to try and do that

  11. Steve. Please contact me at Gmail. nateslucky1214@gmail.com. I am having issues with my Equinox 600 vdi numbers are jumpy and I have my settings on sensitivity 20 ground balance is auto tracking and my recovery speed is 3 am I iron bias is set 2... vdi numbers out of center jumpy and it will stick to a vdi number while I'm still swinging like an undesirable vdi number one pick up and then I'll still be swinging it and it hit another vdi number but then quits and fries on that number and then it's like a x out or something freezes for about 5 seconds dash dash for about 6 seconds and then it'll go to another vdi number what kind of bug is this what kind of issue am I having here

  12. Steve Have you ever heard of this problem and tell me if you think you know what it is... I have a Equinox 600 and I got vdi issues where I will be swinging the Detector hit a signal and then not want to dig that and keep swinging and it will show another vdi and then freezes up while I'm still swinging and then -- will show and then after six seconds or so 00 and then go again and same thing and I have turned sensitivity to 20, recovery speed 3 iron bias 2 and ground balance on auto tracking.... I also will swing over a vdi and it will jump and lower and jump and lower. And on pinpointer mode it sometimes won't have audio but I back out and try again it does. This is for sure a bug. Right?
