  1. Hi Russ,

Sorry to hear about your health problems.  Hopefully, that is all behind you now.  Just take it easy until you are up to full speed.

Glad to see you can still get out and find that gold.  You have always been talented that way.

I still remember the hunts we had together.  Thanks for taking me to those special places.  Hope they produce a bunch more gold for you.

    Reg

    Hi Reg,

Thank you for your concern, I hope your doing well.  My health issue is on going battle and Mayo has me on what they call a maintenance program which includes treatments or infusions with a drug called Rituxan. It's in the chemo family but not as toxic but still makes me sick for a few week after the treatments.  I've had eight of them so far... but the worst is past and I now can lead a fairly normal life but the doctors said to get exercise every day.  I don't want to bore the forum with the details.

Reg if you ever need a place to hunt in Arizona your welcome back to my patches anytime!

I sure enjoyed hunting with you and especially meeting your Dad, I love the thrill of the hunt and finding gold, I guess it's got in my blood. That area we hunted together is still producing nuggets but the terrain is pretty difficult.

Maybe we could go down to southern Az where those invisible nuggets came from ... but it's not my patch and JB has some stuff going on too. I'd love to take the GPZ down there and try finding one of those invisible nuggets that a Minelab can't beep.  :nugget:  :nugget:  :nugget:

  2. Thank you gentlemen!!! I sincerely appreciate the concern and compassion shown here... you just take your health for granted until you lose it.

I'm improving after $600,000 in treatments over the last 2 1/2 years at the Mayo Clinic. Thank goodness we have insurance... that's one reason I bought the GPZ, I didn't want the doctors to get it all the $$$! Plus I don't know how much longer I'll be able swing a metal detector.

You have a great forum Steve... well done.

    Thanks!

  3. I've been back to 5 old patches with the new detector but I'm limited with a health condition as to how long I can swing the detector but It might be up to 40% less  :) I've got about 20 more old patches to re-hunt that will take many more days.

So far I've picked up 6.2 dwt's that were missed by several other Minelabs and a gold bug II and different operators over several years of hitting the same patches.

I don't think I need to say much about the detector because the testers Steve, Chris, and JP have well written reviews about the GPZ . The biggest nugget so far is a .8 dwt and a .9 dwt nugget. I'm still waiting for the bigger gold.... :nugget:  but in all fairness to the GPZ the ground is mostly deep where the big gold was found and I used big round mono's up to a 25" nuggetfinder and a 24" Coiltek to find the big gold.

  4. If I had a GPZ I'd be going over several old patches... I sure wonder what's been missed???

It would take a lot of time to go over the old ground that produced these Arizona nuggets. But probably only take a few week to go over the deep ground where the bigger nuggets over an ounce were found.

These are my brother's and my collection, now in the a bank box...  picture is from two years ago.

Good luck to you too Steve!
