You cleaned House!! Congratulations on all the Treasure! Beautiful Black Diamond! I've never found one of those.

You ran that baby HOT too! The AQ rules!!

Thanks Joe! It was a deep faint target.. I'm lucky the diamond didn't fall out of the setting, two of the four pegs on the setting are missing, so the stone was hanging on by two pegs!

How slow were you going? If I used those settings it would false a lot but a break through target sounds would definitely be distinguishable from the noise. Any other adjustments done?

    Congrats on the awesome hunts.

Thanks! I was swinging slow but not snails pace, coil sweeping directly on wet sand..Yea I was getting a little falsing, mainly from EMI sources such as piers..Despite a little falsing though, the target breaks screamed out loud, sharp, & clear so distinguishing falsing from a target was no problem...Freq delay I would adjust anywhere from 8 - 9.5 depending on the wet sand conditions & EMI..Threshold set to barely audible. I ran the machine in all metal for all these hunts.

  3. Good to see this site is back up! Had a great time hunting the negative low tide wet sand cycles last month. This was the result of several hunts at a few local beaches. Ran the AQ in All-Metal with ATS turned all the way down and sensitivity at max. 10 gold items in total, one of them being a little bit of a bucket lister, an 18k (750) Black Diamond wedding ring. Also, loads of silver! especially chains! The wild surf during the days is doing a bang up job at jostling loose the jewelry this summer! Here are the totals:

    10k - 29.9 grams
    14k - 1.6 grams
    18k - 6.3 grams
    925 - 10.4 oz

Good luck out there & HH!

  4. Conditions were pretty weak all this month, went out on several negative wet sand low tide hunts at a few spots. Started out the month with a small piece of 10k that looked like it was part of a gold nugget ring and also some grey crusted silver from an area that had a cut and some erosion.. Next peace of gold was the 10k nugget ear ring and a small silver peace ring found waaaay out in the negative low tide wet sand plateau, no doubt fresh drops, targets were few and far between at that beach. Next gold item was a tarnished 10k ring that looked like it had a pearl at one point since there is a post sticking out in the middle of the setting, also found some more dark crusty silver on that hunt from an area that had heavy black sand and steep wet sand slopes. The final hunt towards the end of May was a bit on the weak side, not many targets despite the high/low negative tides caused by the mega full moon. Pulled out a small 10k crucifix and was sure that was gonna be the last gold for the month, but as I was zig-zagging the wet sand on my way out I hit a screamer of a signal at the upper slope area, one scoop down, dump the sand and saw the outline of a ring, thought is was just silver at first sight but then I picked it up and noticed the weight, then noticed the hallmark.....Booyah! 18k/Plat Fred Goldman combo band! I was stoked! Called it quits and went home.

    Gold total for the month:
    10k- 4.1 grams
    18k/Plat - 11.5 grams

Thanks for looking and GL out there!

That is strange? Every detector I have owned, have been able to swing along the ground [sand] without any distance between the coil and sand. In fact, have that little skim coat of water on the wet sand and the coil moves LIKE MAGIC!

But we all know why the AQ needs "height control".  Don't we!

I sweep my 12.7" AQ coil directly on the wet sand with no issues...But maybe the sand here in SoCal is different from other locations?

    Great finds! well done
Thank you for your detailed report.

Here are the purchase prices in Europe (net)
With the currency conversion this is 1837 USD, it's not bad!
In any case it is more than the price of the AQ limited and that just only one month!

Thanks for the rundown Alexandre! I gotta say, you have built one heck of a machine that's for sure!

  7. Had an awesome month using the Fisher AQ on the low tide wet sand slopes. Ran the AQ mostly in "tone" mode but did spend some time in "all metal" when trash targets were not too bad..All I can say is that I love this machine! My trusty Sov. GT is starting to collect dust now and the AQ has become my go to detector and the GT my "just in case" back up.

I started out April with a very crusty 10k class ring. Soaked it in CLR over night and removed all the crust, here's the kicker though, as I was sitting on my couch looking through my loop at the ring trying to figure out the date on the class ring and other details, I fumbled the ring in my fingers and it dropped directly onto my tile floor and shattered into pieces! I spent about 15 mins carefully gathering the pieces along with the Ruby stone that was in the center. I was going to scrap the ring anyway but I did want to get a picture of it after clean up before I did. There is a date under the eagle, its very hard to see but it looks like "1955".
The rest of the rings are 14k, with one having CZ stones and the one on the right with real diamonds. Also found what look like two gold tooth caps, acid tested good for 18k. The last gold item of the month was a 22.1 gram 18k (750) gold Rosary found way out in the negative low tide wet sand plateau. I searched around the area thoroughly for the cross and the rest of the beads but had no luck.

Also an honorable mention on the silvers I found, The silver heart bracelet is Tiffany & Co and goes for $275 new https://www.tiffany.com/jewelry/bracelets/return-to-tiffany-love-tiffany-blue-heart-tag-bead-bracelet-GRP09904/

Also found a silver Gucci stud ear ring,  a pair goes for $245 https://www.gucci.com/us/en/pr/jewelry-watches/silver-jewelry/silver-earrings/silver-interlocking-g-earrings-p-356289J84000702?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI1_Ofj-qu8AIVcz6tBh3eJwziEAQYAiABEgKm0vD_BwE

So gold totals for the month are:

    10k- 5.8 grams
    14k- 20.3 grams
    18k-22.1 grams
    Tooth Caps (18k) - 3.5 grams

    Now onto May!

Thanks for looking & Happy Hunting!

Great job Slim- congrats! The ring with the rounded top is really unique. Do you think your Sovereign would have found those?

Thanks George! The ruby & diamond ring I probably would of hit with the Sov GT, it was about 2 feet below a 5 foot cut and it was about 1 scoop down in mild wet sand (no black sand). The other two I found down at the bottom of the wet sand slopes where the sand starts to plateau and were pretty deep so cant say for sure If the Sov would of hit them, I can say for sure that the gold response (high tone squeal) I got from the AQ while in "Tone" mode is so pronounced and amplified that I knew I had a good possible gold target, I say possible because nickels respond just as good. Also I'm able to hunt a lot faster with the AQ in "Tone" mode then I would with the Sov. GT in "Disc" mode and with the 12.7" coil, I can cover more area.. With the Sov in Disc mode, I have to slow down my swing unless I'm hunting in PP mode, and then I lose the Sov Disc abilities. I love both the AQ & the Sov GT though so having both detectors in my arsenal, I'm pretty much set for whatever the wet sand beaches throw at me. For dry sand towel line hunting though, I will be using my Sov GT since I can discriminate  bottle caps pretty good with it. I hate dry sand hunting though and reserve that as a last resort if the wet sand is absolutely hopeless.

  9. Did pretty good using the AQ Ltd last month in the wet sand low tide slopes...1 gold per hunt on 3 different hunts! spending a lot of time hunting in "Tones" mode. I love how this machine screams over gold! Almost like it's telling you "You better dig this damn target right now If you know what's good for you!!!" 😄

The total weight for all 3 gold is 17 grams and all are 14k. The stones & pearl account for some of the weight of course so total gold weight is probably more like 14-15 grams maybe? just a guess..

    Working on April now 😉
