I hear you Chris you would think they would make one to fit there most expensive detector. But maybe they don't want to because we might break it and then buy another.

I to had a great time there. Found my first gold coin and roman coins. Silver and gold and old to boot. Great time, I'm thinking 2017 also.

It rained all day yesterday and today. It's soaked in and muddy!!! Good luck on soup dry washing. LOL

I have also used the upgrade in Nevada. I find no difference in sound or
sensitivity. Maybe it's just the Nevada ground, I'm not sure. I did find gold
and just listen through the noise. I use the GPZ the same as Steve states and just wait for that signal to break through the threshold. It works for me! Good Luck and happy hunting.

Thanks Steve for the hard work! I enjoy your forum.

I feel the GPZ is a great gold getting machine! But they do have some issues. Like the wireless module loosing connection with your head phones. This was a ongoing issue with mine and I called minelab and they sent me a new module out to check if that was the issue. That was not the issue so I called them again and they said send your detector back and we will replace it. I'm thinking wow ok. Why can't they just fix it. So they send me a new machine and it's doing the same thing as the last one. So where is quality control.
This also goes with the SDC and the batteries loosing connection and shutting the machine off every time
you bump a rock or something. We pay a lot for these detectors and you would think these issues would not
leave the factory.

Don't forget the HIP STICK made by Chris Porter!! This will save your back. I have used it in Alaska,

Great gold! I have walked off and never dug the target. I still wonder about that target at moore creek
Alaska because I did dig it half way. Never again!!

Yes Mugsy in spots it's still wet, but drying out by the day. Until it rains again. Its been a very wet

I have been hunting with the GPZ for quite some time now. So I the am use to the GPZ being noisy it's like running the GPX 4500 very very hot or (maxing out). On this particular day the ground was saturated and as I dug down to recover a target I never hit any dry dirt. The GPZ will find the gold in wet conditions if you listen to what it's telling you through the noise. A proper ground balance and using the ferrite ring is a key part. On this outing I recovered 8.8 DWT and the largest being 5.4 DWT. The quarter ounce piece was at thirteen inches and broad signal.

Now that is a great find Steve!! Much better than the stuff I found at moore creek the year you sold it. LOL

No one was hurt, just a major flash flood. They closed hwy80 going over the over pass and made everyone exit and go around because they thought it was unsafe.
Yes Chris it was a 4" water fall over the rail road ties where you were staying.

Thanks Chris for the chat while you were there. The GPZ is in it's own class with all the moans and groans and I can't wait until we dry out.
Also thank you and Steve for the feed back on these detectors.
