  1. But Nimh or AA batteries?  Ugh!!!!  So 1990’s. Is it not possible to equip this with modern battery technology?   One of my biggest personal  criticisms of the TDI was  lack of power.   I wonder if this suffers the same fate?

However, this is fantastic news and a detector I have been waiting years to see.  The manual mentions other coil options,  but I suppose they require factory fitting. I certainly hope this detector is what it seems it might be....

  2. Makes me smile.  Of course you’d avoid the trashy sites when you use the “always oversized” stock coil that comes with every White’s machine.  Put on a 6X8” Detech or the 6”concentric and those machines go from good to outstanding.  Of course the new mystery machine in the video may not have that opportunity just yet, but most certainly that MXT I saw could be outfitted with such.   Just saying....

Give them a call! eBay has the ability to list available quantities as that auction was doing. Somebody blew it on their end and had more listed than were available. Maybe a great deal on a G2+ (or Gold Bug DP etc.) would salve your wounds?

It appears as if I will be able to get an excellent price on the G2+ instead.  I am thankful they worked with me.

  4. "Convincing dealers to carry flagship models can be difficult. The inventory may sit on their shelf until someone like you comes along. So for small time shops carrying more low to mid level units makes more financial sense. But that doesn't really help you out!"

Could this be because White's disallows most of its dealers from selling online, thus decreasing sale potential thus decreasing the amount of inventory a dealer is willing/able to carry?   Is anyone else amazed that in 2017 online sales are still discouraged?

Just so ya know, we're listening to what you guys are asking for. We just want to make sure things are 100% Kosher before we release products.... Lesson learned.

8" coil please.  The 6X8" detech coil is my go-to coil on the MXT, for general metal detecting (not prospecting.) I wish White's made a coil like this.

Been awful busy here. Shooting some more videos and getting ready for a trip to PA this weekend. Colonial homestead!

We're able to turn most of the MX Sports around in a couple days' time. The issue is always ground shipping time. So the process is going smoothly (all things considered) and we're making good progress. I just walked through repair, and though there are MX Sports lined up there aren't as many as I was thinking there'd be. Which means a lot of people aren't sending their machines back. Still getting lots of good finds on our facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/whiteselectronics/

Here's a sneak peak of what you can expect when you get your detector back (took me long time to figure out)-

That is soooo awesome.  Made me smile.  Very nicely done!  :).

Looks like your MX Sport got well before you. Hope you are well soon so you and your MXS can go detecting together. It only has to make you happy with the upgrade and I do hope you are.

    Get well soon!

Thank you. I trust White's did a great job and hope to be using it soon.

We're still a family-owned business in a small town, so our staff is limited. Connie is only one person and if she's on the phone with someone else or at home (we close at 4:30pm PST) you might have to leave a message. The sky is not falling.

Just so you know, I got ahold of White's and they had no record of receiving it. I had to go through a process whereby I proved that the shipping label was created and she was actually able to find it. I don't know if I appreciate your flippant attitude towards this but I knew there was something wrong! Whites, of course will make it right in the end.

You may have been better to hand carry it to White's door. For what it's worth I hope you get it back soon.

I still wonder if they have to open it up to reprogram it. With the extra pins on the coil plug just maybe that gives them access to program.

Within a month we may have more coils for the MX Sport to spend our money on. I have the 6 x 10 now and I knew the package was coming but didn't want it. If the 9.5 coil was 6 inch I'd jump on it with both feet.

I wish I could have had the time off work to make the 90 minute trek, but didn't.  I agree about the 6" coil; or better yet 8".  The go-to coil on my XLT and IDX Pro was the royal 800;. It performed better than the 950 in my soils without too much depth loss.

Our factory has been cranking. Usually the parking lot empties out by 3:30. I leave at 4:30 and it's still been full most days. But they're building new machines there, don't think they're flashing the firmware on the line. I think the updates are happening in repairs. I've been checking in with Todd every day and he says they're keeping on top of things. So chin up!

The main reason for 2 week turnaround is shipping times I think. East Coast to West Coast takes a while in a round trip.

I wonder if this is true since I live in Oregon and it takes one day to ship to White's.  My detector has been there two weeks tomorrow.  Hopefully it returns soon, but I'm a bit worried because looking at White's repair status, my detector isn't even listed there.  White's has always come through for me, but I guess I'm worried a bit.

  12. "If anyone has issues with a White's detector, we take care of them. That's the White's way of doing things. And we're only a phone call or email away, unlike some other companies..."

This has been my experience with White's.  I certainly hope, if there is an issue, it gets resolved to the benefit of White's and the consumer.  I haven't had a chance to test my Sport because shortly after receiving it, I had a major orthopedic injury which will keep me down for about 6 months.

I continue to attest that White's service is unmatched in almost any company in any industry, with which I have dealt. I have faith that any issue will have a quick remedy.

Steve, I really appreciate your expertise as well.  Thank you for an informative forum.
