I agree that the TDI is a way better machine, Steve.   It may have been partially responsible for the Infinium's demise.  If they had made the water-proof one with interchangeable coils, I would have bought it.

I sold a customer a Fisher Gold Bug.  He wanted me to come up to his claim and teach him how to use it.  I was swinging the AT Gold.  We crossed the creek and sure enough, I slipped on a rock and used my hands to brace my fall.  The detector landed in the creek.  So, I'm just a little leery of using something that I can no longer drive to the factory and drop off for repair.   Plus, I thought it would be nice to have a back up PI.  I'm trading a Gold Monster for my friend's detector with the stock 14" DD, the 5'x10" DD, the 3'x7" DD, coil covers, headphones and carry bag.  As far as I know, he's only been out two times with it.

The SDC 2300 is 5.1 pounds without the batteries which add about another 10 or 12ounces.  If we were to have any Gold Shows next year, maybe I'll check it for weight and see if it might work for me.  There's a guy on You Tube who goes by the handle of "Two Toes" that does really well crevicing with one.

    Thanks!

    Walt

I bought a atx earlier this yr and not only did it fail to hit the targets that where there it hurt my shoulder bad... I sold it and bought a sdc. It's not that heavie and I use a docs harness and I can swing it fr hours with out any issues, I also use the coiltek 11in G.extream coil and in one month I pulled 4oz out of the same ground the atx found one 1/2gram piece in a couple months on that hill.... I'm just a gold seeker not a dealer or a expert but the proof is in the pooding...the coiltek did way better then the stock coil.

  2. Ok I know this is a old thread but I want to thank u steve, I'm no rookie when it comes to hunting the yellow or detecting but I have been struggling to get my zed to performe. It's not like I'm wondering if the gold is there, but how to get the zed to tell me. The problem is the ground is full of lava rocks of varying hotness. The noise is bad and if I run auto GB it will tune down to the worst depth and tuning possible in minutes, ya if I run my ecig over the coil and it's in visible un till 12in u know it's bad ground. So with yr settings and using manual  GB after auto and giving it a bit to build data then turning to man stops this. unfortunately normal is to hot and after 50 hot rocks I went back to general and with the manual GB I can keep my depth at 20+inches which is a game changer. I have owned the zed now fr a week and after days of struggling with settings, my mistake was running the  audio volume to high drownding out the good that are left after whites gmt/gold bug pro/atx/sdc and now a zed have beat the crap out of this spot biggest nug 142grams and alot of gram and sub gram pulled. This is a load sheading from top to bottom and full of the goods allowing me the opportunity to learn this maching rather then try and find a spot to do so. The one thing is the volume  and I figured out the GB issue on my own... thanks and happy new yrs.... pic is what the settings have done fr me and the ground I'm in... lol guy was .1gram at about 5in I'm impressed with the power of the zed I cant wait till I realy know this beast if a machine. Thank u steve fr sharing.....

Very nice, thanks YM. Definitly a bit more than what I found...😉. Yes, it would be nice to meet up one day, thanks. Perhaps you, aerospace guy and myself can set something up. Perhaps Dave (flakmagnet), Mitchel and Randy also want to join.

I'm in, this is all I do chase the dream fulltime.

Norvic,  Oh yea I found them with the GPS coordinates I purchased on eBay.  Best $100 I ever spent.

Now if I was smart or I didn't care about hunting my old sites again, I'd just do exactly as I mentioned above.  I could sell the GPS coordinates for each nugget at $100 a pop or all 4 for $299.  You and I both know there's  folks who would buy.  I could milk those nuggets for a few more grand.

Or...maybe I could give the coordinates away for free to anyone who purchases GPX-6000 or GPZ-7000 from me?

Now you have me thinking outside the box Norvic.  You are a great man today, not sure about tomorrow?🤫

Lmao Jerry well since I just bought a 7000 from u can I get some free coordinates and make sure there real!!! Lmao funny this guy

Ah go on Gerry, all you successful gold fellas are the same, you`ve got those secret places where it`s just laying around, just a matter of a few swings each time you want a gold hit.....🤤

Well if u pound ground the way successful detectorist do you would have secret spots to...

  6. Gold Catcher very nice, I know how tough this area is and for you to pop out and hit on yr first time out here I'm impressed. It shows you know what your doing. I did the best with my sdc-coiltek11 but I beat the spot with a bug pro and sdc and atx, witch failed miserably. now I'm still pulling with a 7000, its though trying to get to know it with the spot beat but I know theres big ones so I persist. I'd love to go out and hunt new ground in this area, I would love to put more coils on ground in hit me up if interested... this was November's take...well theres another oz not in there...

Gold Catcher..this is where I detect 99% of the time. I belong to 3 clubs that have claims in the area. I just posted a week or so ago about trouble with "hot rocks" with my EQ800 and asked for some tips. I think the EQ does ok and will find bird shot and -20(classified size) gold all day long. However, you are correct in saying there  R HRocks R on the surface and buried all over...some areas R more free of them than others. I used a GPX5000 for years out here and frankly the EQ does WAY better than it ever did! I know people say the 6000 will do good out here but I'd like to see it run out here to see for myself how it does. Good luck and hope you find some bigger gold. I found a 4.3 grammar this year there with the EQ.

If you want some tips hit me up. I been hunting this area and have done well enough to get a sdc and a 7000..

I found alot of nugget with a gold bug pro and quit a few more pieces with sdc.

I would love to get together with other peeps that are not rookies and hunt some new prospects in the area.
