If the Equinox performs like people are thinking, it will take the market by storm.
Don't know about their engineering department, but their marketing department appears to be the best.

That is an awesome description of coil/filter interaction.

For years I've wanted a good PI machine "TDI", but with a fair amount of true, actual, working discrimination without loosing depth. So many say it will never happen or rather they just don't know.

Best bet is to wait 6 months to a year after release for issues to sort out on any new detector. Or just stick with what you have.
I think that is a very realistic prediction, and that will give 1st Texas a chance to finish and test anything in the pipes.

While the air tests are impressive... a coin in an open hole is not indicative of a buried coin in the same mineralized ground.... JMHO.
Exactly, especially in Virginia....................

Steve we are depending on your test review.
I had the Deus for 2 years and loved it from the beginning. Found a lot of good targets. So If it out performs the Deus, White's V3i and Fisher F75 I guess I'll sell all and jump on board.
Did anyone notice I didn't mention my TDI?
Still waiting on the 1st Texas's PI with discrimination.

Those that know won't talk, and those that talk don't know. Only three days to go so rather than speculate I will just wait. The only real clue I know of is the decision on where to announce the machine - a detector rally in the U.K.
I like this........
I'm still waiting to see what 1st Texas does......
Too many top notch engineers, it going to be great.......
-
Amazing how some companies can continue to innovate and release new machines back to back.
-
Awesome finds. I too love the SL, very good machine. Only thing I wish for is a PI machine with good discrimination
-
I think we'll find the most part of this unit, marketing hype.
But hey, that's the world of sales.......
I'm waiting on 1st Texas.............

Any experiences with the Coiltek Elliptical 10inch x 5inch on the White's TDI?

I think Mark's coupon was due to his recent 'FINDS' submission. White's sometimes rewards customers who make great finds and do a proper write-up.
But if you submit a find with a Minelab or Garrett - NO SOUP FOR YOU!
You are right, I submitted a great find a few months ago along with a good description of what, where and machine settings.

Shame for sure. This market seems to be more complex than first thought. If a company releases something far better than the norm it will take the market by storm. Now that is what I'm hoping for from 1st Texas.
Minelab must have a huge engineering department to put out new products so quickly in response to their competitors.

Received a coupon for $100 worth of accessories from White's. Never had this happen is this rare or random?
Either way, I like it.................

Any word from these projects?

Great find for silver. I too found a 1913 Barber dime years ago which looked to be XF or Au. Still remember that find.

Always enjoy the detailed post on this site. Very informative and I continue to learn of past machines and just how good they are.

Jim Karbowski, does he sell custom coils?

Very interesting machine

A guy found this detector in a wood pile at a local factory. Looked like it had been there for years, weathered badly, shaft was broken and coil was busted. As a challenge they gave it to me. Two days later I installed batteries and low and behold it came on. Couldn't find a manual so I went into experimental mode and can say I was impressed with the air test (for a China product).
To start with I thought it was a single tone machine, dime and nickel gave a high tone, but adjusting the ground balance and the discrimination revealed attributes that reminded me of the TDI. Now a nickel gives a low tone and a dime remained a high tone.
Next I took the machine to my test garden of over 10 years and was shocked to hear a repeatable response of my deepest targets.
Please note, I’m not promoting China products, only indicating what I found.
There is one adjustment on the side that I’m wondering about not sure what it might be.
Would also like information about this machine, the internet really doesn’t indicate when they were manufactured or much detail.
