Mitchel,
Glad to hear you are up and running (walking). I think Norvic is spot on, take it easy for a bit, rest as necessary and in a short bit you will be back in the desert slaying it.

Good job Reese!
How did the nugget end up on the bench 3' above the hole where you located it first, maybe I missed something??
Thanks for sharing that dig, the country looks amazing!

I had an experience very much like Dirtman mentioned, about two years or so back I was at one of Bill Southern's get together at LSD (Little San Domingo) and was progressing down a wash with my 500 humming along quite nicely. I may have stopped and removed my head phones I don't remember now. At any rate I noticed a distant noise which I could not identify and I stood still for a moment listening and wondering what I was hearing, at some point I thought it was the sound of a four wheeler approaching and I was waiting for it to come into view...... What came into view was a dark cloud of beeez, doing what bees do, swarming and I just happened to be under their air space, when I became aware of what the commotion was all about I just lay down in the wash and let the traffic clear.... I lost count but there were a good many in the swarm and they were maybe ten or fifteen feet AGL. I thought at the time that they should not be a threat because they were just changing locations and weren't at all aggressive. Since I am allergic to beeez I was very relieved when their tail lights faded into the beautiful evening air.

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year and also have a request to help a veteran. A friend of mine, a veteran, is in the Corpus Christy area of Texas and we have discussed the prospect of beach detecting for him, he said he would like to give it a try. Since I am unable to assist him personally I thought I would see if there is anyone in that area who would be willing to take him out and show him the ropes. If anyone is interested in giving my friend an opportunity please send me a message through this site and I will forward any information to my friend. Thanks for your interest. Jeff

Barry,
Thank you for another informative post.
Curiosity being the bane of all cats I nevertheless must ask this question, why and how is it a legitimate action by a public agency to withhold required information?
We common folk are required to provide the information but individuals within a particular "group" are exempted from that requirement..... Any light you can shed on this mystery is appreciated...
Wishing you am Merry Christmas!

Swegin makes a good point.
I am not a big movie guy but some of them that David worked on and shared insights about have made me want to see them again. His explanation of the many challenges which arise and must be solved during film production is worth the read. Clever problem solving at it's finest.
The movie business is not for the faint of heart...... A fun read which provides a greater understanding of how the magic is made....
Thanks for an entertaining read David!

You are referring to forum owners generally I suspect. The amount of very educational posts found on this forum certainly belie that statement, the posts I am referring to are from Steve H.
This forum is a gem, and the general quality and tone of most contributions is worthy of the time spent reading them.
Much valuable information available here at no charge!

Gerry,
I learned a lot in your training at RP years ago, you and your guys do a great job!
I am now forced to admit I was either not paying attention during that lesson or have forgotten it, this was a great reminder of an important technique which should be a go to procedure for experienced and new hunters alike.
Thanks for what you do!
