Thanks GB. The reason I ask, is that I have a new 7" x 11' coil that came with my GBDP that I will give the fella if he gets the F19 (to supplement his 5" x 10")
-
I guess they would be considered a relic? grin
-
According to Fisher tech, both boards are the same but are programed with different perimeters ?
Neither one of the coils I mentioned are concentric.... could they be interchangeable between the GBPro and the F19
-
So..... what is the difference between the 11" DD coil that came with the Gold Bug Pro (Gold Bug series) and the 10" DD coil for the F19?
Could they be interchangeable?
-
Thanks for the comments. Apparently the G-2 is the same as the F-19 but the G-2+ is programed to different parameters than the F-19.
Just wait and see what he decides.

Got a buddy of my son that is looking for a relic, coin detector. He has no experience and would like to stay under $500
Seems an F19 might fit the bill.... anyone used one? Pros/cons?

I find a lot of specks that just barely weigh 1dwt
You don't really mean 1 pennyweight (dwt) do you.... that would be 24 grains or 1.55 grams. not really small.

10 minutes
I should clarify, 10 minutes from where I live. 0 minutes from my other house on the Salmon river.... grin

I have material that runs 1.8 oz. to the ton consistently (quartz/free gold) I sent in a sample for an assay(I don't know why now) prepared as instructed and it came back with zero gold.
It was a very reputable firm. When I got the report back, I called them asking why no gold? They said that is not uncommon. There just wasn't a particle of gold in the sample.
They said the best way to determine the gold content in that type of material was to crush and process a ton (or more) of material.

I'd like to see the switch for "PI/VLF" on the same machine.

unfortunately, all I get is the black square with an "X".........
-
Since these shows are filmed way in advance from when we see them, whatever it was they found has already been recovered(if it was real).
-
I wouldn't do anything to those pieces except maybe clean them in a ultrasonic jewelry cleaner.
If you can't dissolve the quartz completely, the quartz that is left no longer looks natural and distracts from the specimen.

You screen to 1/8" with a Gold Cube
-
you are right Steve. now that we have a larger pic.
if you enlarge the first one and look in the lower right corner, it looked like tailings. but it must have been the river.
-
I see dredger tailings in the photo so it must be a gold area.
Doesn't look like any mining in the river there.
If more of the surrounding area was shown, might lead to a conclusion.
-
Just like the ones I'm looking for....
-
Hey, that's good. when I saw "bucket" in your list, somehow I thought that was the "black bucket".
-
Nice for a DYI.... How much of the "3D printed blue bowl" is "3D"? Looks like maybe only the brackets?
-
Steve, our telephone number was 3 shorts and a long.... remember yours?
-
Back up again?? ok!
-
Nice gold!
So, what is a "surfaced" area? Here in the US that would be an area covered in asphalt, concrete or similar.
Don't see any in the pictures so it must be something else.....
-
Not all are like that. I sold several ounces of rings and got 90% of spot. That seems fair doesn't it? No stones involved.
-
I hardly open anything in the various detector brands unless there might be something in the Fisher brand.
If there is a found item or a hunt , post it in this category and let Steve move it!

Why wasn't it tapped it and plugged when Keene built it?
I think I've had Keene pumps that were drilled and tapped?
