Well done i am in London larking tmw and Wed then hit kent coast again from thursday hopefully with more luck........................
RR
The weather is from the South tomorrow , that might ruin the beaches ? unless you are going to the North Kent coast or maybe a coastline that has a glancing blow from the sea . Getting fed up with Southerlies , especially long tide ones.

Was there an armed guard ?

Thank for sharing Nuke em.
Btw, I got the privilege of living in your lovely country back in 2001-2003.
I was a dartaholic and English pool addict back then.
This yank really put pressure on players over there. They couldn't figure out where I come from.
They hadn't seen many yanks who could, throw darts and play pool like I did. Some great memories from my stay there. Two things I didn't like- driving on the wrong side of the road and your lovely VAT.
We think the same as you about driving on the wrong side of the road . Very dangerous practices you foreigners have . I would be all over the show trying to get round you all !
As for this Country . Its ........... and i dont mean by Brexit , by to many elitist scumbags out to make money off its back .
If your a patriot here you are weird and racist . Sorry for the Politics but its true and the young have fallen for the con hook line and sinker .

Nice haul Nuke, question for you, what are you doing with the old pond coins, is there a way of cashing them in. I use to love finding them over here in Ireland but now I don't know what to do with them.
Pay them into your bank account if a UK one. Or just give me them LOL

This is my second hunt for this month , my first was on the 5th when i had £8.01p and the beach was mostly quiet for finds due to the depth of sand and stones on the beaches.
Today i went for a 9am start and worked the tide out , its a very short tide and i didn't expect much though there was a bit of bad weather last week and on Friday i had a dodgy gut so couldn't make then and yesterday i was busy.
I travelled a long way West which is what i have been doing for a while now and walking all the way back to the center of the City . As soon as i got there and saw the beach i thought something was different . It was good and then i saw holes , damn i thought i have missed it all . I know of 1 other detectorist that works that part of the beach and he uses a CTX . I took my Explorer 11 . I got started and within a few minutes i was hitting coins , he missed many ! So started what i call carpet bombing the beach as when i look back it looks like i have bombed the Hell out of it with hole marks all over the place.
For the first quarter mile i was digging more crap that good targets but as i got nearer to my usual hot spots that changed and my targets were getting close to 90% good targets with coins every few feet at times . By the time i got to my main beaches i thought i was going to see the finds rate drop like it has for the last couple of months there but it didn't and in places i was finding more and with less than an hour left for me to search i found a Silver ring my third for the year and then the coins kept coming . Till i got to a new wooden groin that has been put in then it all went quiet , at the same time i saw a man with XP ADX 150 i think it was or something like that and i thought right its time for food and home . When i got to the top of that part of the beach i looked over the concrete groin and saw my mate Allan with his Fisher 1236 and chatted to him for a bit , i showed my finds to him and said he should go to the beaches i have searched and use his smaller coil to cane the beach further . There are lots of nails all over the place and it makes thing hard . After raiding a shop for some food and drink i got the Bus home . I finished the search at around 2.30pm .
My total for today were the Silver ring , a large pre Decimal Penny and 2 pre Decimal Half Pennies , a 1 Euro , 2 other Foreign coins and £68.56p in spendable coinage including 23 old style £1 coins that aren't legal tender now but can be banked into my account .
I am in 2 minds about tomorrow but i might get a call from my dealer about the Equinox and want to be ready to go and collect it so Wednesday might be my next day out . And that will be with the Explorer 11 as well . Till i have sussed the Equinox and settings i wont shove into the breach my dear friends .
Both pictures of both searches for this month so far.

Nuke em, I agree Air test are for show. But to see how the tone breaks at certain depths is INFORMATIVE INFO. In the short amount of time he has had the detector and wanting to get a quick video out for us all, the Air Test showed us something.
I look forward to you putting up a video of actual undug targets in ground so I can learn much more. Yes it will take, but I know you want to show us.
I would do videos but when i am out i dont carry any unnecessary baggage . Except for my getting fat belly that is.
My finds from today will show you why i dont get time . When i put them up.

Nuke 'Em, did the tv show Detectorists help or hinder your image in the local community? Art and Garfunkel certainly wouldn't have helped
Either way, very funny series. Looking forward to being able to watch series 3.
There are those just like them . But i think the program makes us look weird . Even if one of the actors detects . Only a detectorist really understands detecting . Wish there was a lot more detecting in the program , maybe they could have found a real hoard LOL
And a bit more Rachael Stirling too ! Remember her from the TV series Tipping the Velvet . Very saucy .

I never used the dual freq coil on my Terra's . Not that i wouldn't but i couldn't get hold of one .
Nel coils are tough and work well but it all depends on where you are willing to send the cheque . I prefer to buy direct from the dealer .
I have a Nel Hunter coil for my FBS machines .
The only thing i would be careful of is the tight fit of the stem , i think they come with thinner stem bolt washers so they can fit properly .Not sure as i mixed up all my spares and nearly broke the coil lugs before realising what i was doing and remembering that i had thinner washers . Close call.
-
Selling the stems , coil arm cup and any other bits can get money for your next machine . Unless you decide to get it fixed . But they are a bit pricey to fix. Worries me every time i am on the beach with mine.

My SE Pro died (it got wet a couple of years ago) last summer and I was told it would take $500 to fix it. I really like that SE Pro but I can't justify putting that into a fix.
This has more bang for the buck.
If I really want an SE Pro then I think there will be a few for sale after the Equinox is out a bit.
Mitchel
Dont just bin the machine . Sell every last bit of it you can .

I have Tuesday off. Will hit the beach but might cheat on the Equinox and hang out with Miss Explorer 11

Don't you do other things besides detect? I see you are into photography. Have patience. When you are NOT looking she will inevitably show up. That's the one you want, one you find when not looking. Trust me!!
Photography is linked to my other past time . Military, mostly Naval . And that rare these days. Work and detecting and things here and there are all I get time for.

I'm sorry, Nuke. Is there a detecting club in your town that you could join? Surely there would be a few girls there?
I do beaches 99% of the time. Land is hard to come by and clubs here ? Nah not in my area.

Here's some free advice for you single guys. If you're the outdoorsey type, don't marry a prissy little cheerleader. If you're interested in a girl, take her hunting or fishing or metal detecting on your first date. If she squeals like a banshee the first time she gets a lil' mud on her, then she ain't the one.
Thats me single for life then round here . They all look as detectorists like we are weirdos in my neck of the woods.
-
You Americans might be getting it cheap . Check out UK dealers and convert the £ price to $ price . No wonder we are poor . Bloody VAT .
-
I am single so i just say to my right hand here's something else to grab. Sorry !
-
I should have mine by Wednesday though may not be out till a week later at the earliest . Wont be videoing but will tell what i find .
-
Air tests are as reliable as chocolate teapots . You never get in ground what you get in air .
If you do an air test then have someone at the box end too . When the sound dips and the number waiver then thats max depth in ground and thats if the ground is not bad.
Still the machine does look good .

Since i posted on the 18th i have been out 3 times but haven't found any more gems . I went out early in the morning and worked the tide out each time , all the beaches are either building up now or are very quiet . The first of the 3 trips i used my Explorer XS and found £13.00p exactly . The second trip out i took the Explorer 11 and it was a better search , conditions weren't that much better but small areas had changed which enabled me to pull out £33.95p and a 2 Euro coin and a coin which i haven't identified .
Today i took the Explorer 11 as well and found only £8.47p , i didn't stay out as long as it was obvious all the beaches were hopeless , i was lucky to find what i did . All of it other than a very few coins were high in the dry .
Thats my lot for this month . Total for this month was just over £166 , 1 Gold and 2 Silver rings for 7 trips out , my first trip isn't on here . That was on the 6th and had £13.20p.
My next trip is in a weeks time , though i will be missing the long tides . But that doesn't matter much , the long tides mess the beaches up at times so i will be happy to hit the beaches after the peak tides.

What does he look like LOL .
As for the video , i know feel that without doubt it will work on salt beaches . As for comparing it to other machines ? Compare the price of a CTX / ET to the Equinox and then think what if Minelab have made a machine that matches the earlier machines , if so we are in for a fantastic time when we get the machines.

Geez how many test units are out there? Get's a little annoying seeing all these rando folks running around with their machines without a peep from Minelab lately.
That is one of the 3 UK testers . He is Neil Jones (Slow and Low) .
