We know that the device uses Bluetooth LE Audio (fccid test), but there is no information about this in the instructions, just as there is no information about the ability to connect wireless headphones from other manufacturers. Why? Has anyone tried to connect other (not Minelab) headphones?

You can be sure that if there is a way there is a will!

    My sentiments exactly.

Like I said earlier, the user interface/navigation kind of sucks compared to the Equinox. My only other minus is the 10X5” coil isn’t available yet.

Otherwise, it is an Equinox with a few extra features and improvements in a Legend housing which is totally fine with me……So is Deus 2 and I only have the Lite version. Who needs a Mantipedi….

    Mantipede. 😂

    What about Manicure?

  3. I bought a standard Legend in June and used it for the beach. So far it has found £416 and Pence. 2 x 22k Gold rings and 1 x 14k Gold ring and 22 Silver rings.

So, I bought a Legend Pro.

Once I have sussed all the settings a bit better and have a decent program for land, I will use it on land. It won't replace my Deus 11, but I do want to see what the Legend can do on a nice Roman or Medieval field.

It's the first time I have found a machine other than a Minelab that can do what a Minelab can do on beaches. The Deus 11 can but I won't use that on beaches due to its expense and fragility. The Legend is built like an Ox.

    Very happy.

Let's face it, just like every other new detector release, the product isn't in its final version yet. Some other ones still aren't. So it's going to go through changes to get to the "finished" product, and as they get flooded with questions, many of which they can't answer yet, they will do the typical media response runaround rather than say the wrong thing and cause a media nightmare. 😏

So it's not it's final price then neither !

I think I have seen enough to suss it as an over priced slightly higher powered Nox.

Might have few things on it that would be useful but it's not enough. And far to much money.

Pity. But my ET's will keep going for a few years .

Just say it. Need a laugh.

  6. I think i will steer clear of the Manticore. I don't think it's going to be as good as the price is going to be. Also, how much is dug at 50 cm? Not a lot.

But the big issue i have is that the battery lasts only around 9 hours normal use and if you use the light, vibration and any boosts then it could be as low as 7 hours? Thats what i have been hearing. And the battery takes 7 hours to charge! Not good enough by far. I hit the beaches for way longer than that. And land digs can be longer than that during the longer days of the year.

Has Minelab not learned anything about battery tech since the abortion of a battery pack they put in the Explorer all those years ago? Look at the RNB.

The arm cup looks less bulk than the Nox one and unless it's made of something else might break like i have seen the Nox one's break.

The coil lugs are going to be on the stem, am i the only cynic? that the only reason that they have done that is to save them money when replacing broken parts in warranties and not saving us money after warranties have run out? The lugs still look thin. Maybe the cynic in me thinking ooh squeeze every last gram out of the weight we can!

All carbon fibre stem. Looks good but expensive to replace if that breaks. I think using that in the sea doing beach hunting will put an awful lot of stress on the stem. I noticed that on the Nox even with the aftermarket stems. The Legend is rock solid in the oggin. This whole thing about going lightweight may be starting to go too far.

I have read that it has 99 Co numbers, that's good but why 99 Fe numbers? And they don't show on the screen.

The Nox suffered from EMI issues when i used it on the beaches i go to and even on many digs too. The only way to solve it was to go single freq! And the Minelab ad was?? all that gumpf about making single freqs obsolete. On a video seeing the Manticore it seemed to be like the Nox, unstable?

    All this for £1799 UK.

People find plenty with cheaper machines and hoards get found with cheap Garretts etc. Beaches are getting harder now cashless is here or almost and paying for your new toy might be a lot harder.

And with times getting harder out there due to bills and economic woes maybe Minelab brought this out a little late?

Anyway even though here in the UK we pay VAT on almost everything £1799 is a bit steep. The Deus can be bought for £1260 with discount and the Legend Pro for £710.

I'm not seeing that much other than looks that make me think the Manticore is worth buying. I have learned from past mistakes that first impressions are best ignored.

Maybe if Minelab ignored the shareholder's bonus!

    Still love my E.Trac though.

  7. Looks like a mark 2 Equinox.

I'm waiting this one out till all the fuss is over. And the dealer discounts come along .

Looks better than the Nox but i have machines that work better than the Nox so i'll wait and see .

Anyway when power bills in the UK are going from an average £700 last year to around £7000 early next year i think money might get very tight for many.

  8. The big problem is that every time they have updates the manual changes . I get enough trouble trying to suss the newer machines as it is LOL

Apart from the small symbols at the bottom of the screen which are a bit small , i can put up with . The big issue i have is the awkward place they have put the battery indicator . Real hard to see in that corner .

As for battery. I might have a problem with mine? I think its using too much . I seem to get at max around 8 hours out of the battery. I am going to go out sometime in the week and run till flat and see what happens . I hope i find Gold , damn its getting harder than a Bishops dick at choir practice !

  9. Hi all ,

I was wondering if anyone has had issues with their Legend's battery . Whether they are seeing it run down to quickly ?

I did a beach hunt in beach mode with no light on , no other known battery wasting things and was down to 2 notches on the indicator with either side of 6 hours use .

I wonder if it's why there is a Pro version as they know the machine eats battery power ?

Other than this . Not a bad machine.

Independent field testing underway...Release to happen soon.

Not in order from her video…..

    1. Iron Filtering from 1 to 8. Current 1.07 value equals setting 8 which will also be default in 1.08.

    2. Iron Filtering Stability setting….fine tuner for iron bias when set to 1 through 7. Not active on default setting 8.

    3. VCO “Tone Pitch” audio added to Park, Field and Beach.

    4. Mute button (long press of frequency button)

    5. Factory reset when in User Profile, long press Pinpoint button until FD.

    6. Selected setting will blink (not just box around it blinking)

    7. Audio Gain adjustment in Park, Field and Beach for boosting audio on weaker signals.

    8. Third Multi setting M3 for use on wet ground, coke and conductive ground in Park Field and Beach will lessen/eliminate 10 and 11 (ground) target ID responses

    9. Last discrimination setting before shut down will be retained on startup.

10 Threshold tone frequency (pitch???) for Park, Field and Beach will be default 10 and Threshold tone improved.

    11. Headphone and speaker audio can be ON at the same time for videos and training.

    12. Sensitivity will automatically be lowered during the setting of Notches.

    13. Mineralization indicator.

    14. Audio during ground balance improved.

    I think that is all……

    Currently, no price increase.

10X5 and 12X9 coils coming soon.

Thank You Nokta Makro, especially Dilek for accepting suggestions and Burak Tunc (happy birthday!!!) for making them happen!!!

Looks good. I hope it helps with all the issues that i think there are.

The big one i have is the issue with jagged edged bottle caps that come in at 30's to 40's . Real issues on my beaches.

One other thing you say there . No price increase.

On Youtube there is a site by Joe Blogs and he discuses all the issues regarding Russia and Ukraine and how its affecting all the World economies. It seems Turkey is in the real 5h!7storm and inflation is going through the roof.

Their inflation on products they make is running out of control and could be 100% soon . That will cause price increases and then the Nox may look cheap ! Not that it will make me buy one . The Legend is far superior to the Nox in quality of build .

If the Legend improves after the updates i might even consider another in the next few months and have 2 for the beaches to last me for the next few years.

  11. I bought the Legend a few weeks ago and although i have used it 4 times and found £60 in coinage on the beaches i am not totally happy with it.

It needs those updates . I am fed up with having non ferrous signals on jagged Crown caps.

I'm not sure of the tones being strong enough too. Anything deeper than 5 inches seem a lot deeper going by the tones .Might be the headphones ?

Good machine and very well made though.

I sold my Nox a while ago and bought the Deus 11 . The Legend is a replacement for that but not for the E.Trac which i class in a class of its own.

Out on the beach this weekend . Deus 11 this time. Would have been the Legend but it needs the updates .

I did then I pulled out the SE and ran the screen in digital which shows you the ferrous and conductivity of the target. Many variations on the id's. So I may venture to say I don't find it a gimmick it's just not as advanced as my ML SE.

    I use the E.Trac and the Explorer 11 .

I haven't come across any other machine other than the CTX that can do accurately what they can do.

I am thinking about the Legend but i won't get it till i am satisfied that the machine can do what it should do.

    Still keeping my FBS though.

  13. I have had my Deus 11 since its release and i got it on the first batch to the UK .

I have used it 5 times and thats out of 6 times i have been out this last month.

On the 2 land digs , I found that the Deus 11 runs much better than the Nox and many other Nox users were talking about EMI and when i used mine before changing to the Deus 11 i was getting nowhere with the Nox. As soon as i changed over i found a nice cut Half Scottish Silver Hammered coin.

The next dig i used the Deus11 straight away and found a whole but badly worn Hammered Silver coin. People complained about EMI with their Nox's again.

I have used the Deus 11 on the beach i go too and on 1 search i found quite a lot . Its normally a bad beach for EMI and even the Deus 11 has issues in one spot which i expected. All machines get it there.

The day after Storm Eunice in the UK is when i found the finds with the Deus 11 . Would my other main machines have found them ? E.Trac YES , Explorer 11 ? YES , Nox 800 ? MOST but in the Nox's case thats because of poor target info .

I dont have pictures of the land finds to hand .

On the above beach hunt the beach looked awful and it took my experience to understand that the beach was in fact looking good that evening .

In my opinion the Deus 11 is the best non Minelab multi frequency machine out there . Its got almost the best target info and the Square tones on FULL tones give you almost E.Trac level. I have used the General program mostly and a version of Beach and Beach Sens programs for the beach.

Going by what vid's and what people have said about the Legend and the delays , i am going to postpone my Legend order for now and wait till others have used it and Nokta have done their further updates that are likely.

As for the Deus 11 ? I am on the list for another unit. Its brilliant . I want to back up the best with the best.

Like i back up the E.Trac with an Explorer 11 .

Is the ET better than the Deus 11 ? YES and slightly NO . Thats why i have both.

Is the Deus 11 better than the Nox 800 ? YES . Poor build quality and very poor target info and only 3 year warranty and the fact that Minelab is a shareholder company and charge more for their machines for the capability prove it in my opinion.

The last very good Minelab was the ET. I am a very keen Minelab user but they have been letting the side down since the Deus 1 came out in 2009 . We see what happens when you rest on your laurels ( Tesoro , Whites) .

As for that all important thing called depth ? We are at the limits when it comes to depth with VLF machines . You might improve a little on certain targets but its all about sensitivity and target info . The Nox and Vanquish unless in clean ground are poor. Unless you like digging every little thing regardless?

I will say it here and now , The DEUS 11 is the best machine that has been released since the ET in 2008 .

The price is high but so is the capability.

Damn i am sticking up for the French LOL ! Mondeur ! Or should i say Mon Deus ?

From the looks of it I don't think the Legend will replace my Nox. To me it appears and sounds like Nokta Makro made a detector that almost mimics the Nox, IMO they should have set themselves apart rather than played follow the leader. Yea the Legend is probably going to be better built, has a flashlight (which I will never use) vibration (which I personally will never use) a clock, etc. small features. The fact that the Legend doesn't have iron bias is a big factor in it not replacing the Nox. I also don't want to learn a new set of target ID's, it's already hard enough to go back and forth between the Dues and the Nox as it is. If anything I'll eventually drop the Nox in favor of the Deus 2, depending on how it performs in bad ground.

Iron Bias appears not to be all that it is cracked up to be . But black sand capability is a must. And the Ferro check is important too. Heard on a particular vid that it isn't that good but then in the background there is a Deus 11 box !

Anyway i have paid for the Deus 11 and will get that soon. The Legend might have to wait . I will continue with the Nox till later in the year and see how much i find . I want to make sure i dont keep making losses from buying and selling machines.

I have switched and swapped to many times in the past. Has to stop.

Deus 1 and ORX owners who have the money and plan on detecting a lot.......its a no brainer, get the Deus 2.

I like the Legend too but not as an equal competitor of Deus 2.

I sold my Deus 1 today and paid the balance for the Deus 11. Now the wait.

Still not sure of the Legend.  If I buy it , it's to replace the Nox.

But at the moment I might leave and look at it later.

These are some of the questions Calabash raised. Just going by the manual from my interpretation of it:

    Legend Iron Bias....

I can't find anything resembling an Iron Bias function in the Legend manual either. Maybe the Legend's SMF technology doesn't need it.

There is not an iron bias function on the Deus 2 either other than possibly the bottle cap reject function.

    Legend Black Beach Sand capability......

When the Legend encounters strong black sand concentrations a warning triangle appears..

The instructions are definitely vague for that warning triangle. Like Calabash indicated, does the detector just overload, is sensitivity automatically reduced (like on the Equinox) or is their a ground balance adjustment which means one should be using tracking ground balance ???????

Legend Ferro Check only on shallower targets

Nothing unusual about that. There are very specific instruction in the manual on how to use it. It won't automatically give an accurate reading unless the instructions are followed. So just waving the coil over a target in one direction may not be good enough for an accurate reading. Goldmonster 1000 and XP ORX have to be operated the same way to get optimal results.

The Equinox iron bias and its ability to determine ferrous/non-ferrous on deeper near edge of detection iron is very hit and miss. Circling the target and checking IDs and listening for iron is still necessary. Turning up iron bias helps on shallower targets for sure.

Deus 1 and Deus 2, the same happens whether using the horseshoe graph screen or the X/Y screen. Deeper targets will often indicate part ferrous and part non ferrous. The Deus 2 Bottle Cap Reject I have never used or seen fully demonstrated on deeper iron. Gold and Relic mode's Disc Iron Amplitude Rejection function is really only for shallower targets also.

    Legend Threshold Tone

The threshold tone can be turned on (above setting zero) or off in any mode and it has 25 levels of volume. In Park Field and Beach it is a reference threshold that will null on rejected targets.  In Gold mode its default setting is 12 and it appears to be a real threshold tone that is directly related to the target tone since the manual specifically says it will not null on rejected targets. There is also a threshold frequency adjustment which I think means you can adjust the pitch higher or lower of the threshold tone.

Legend's Four Default Discrimination Patterns equal Notching????

The Legend has four preset discrimination patterns that can be used as a short cut with the press of a button (similar to the Nox horseshoe button) in any mode to change the level of iron range acceptance. All (iron accepted 0 to 60), Ground (ground noise rejected 3 to 60 accepted), Iron (iron rejected 11 to 60 accepted) and Custom (iron rejected 12 to 60 accepted.)  The Custom slot can be altered and saved. Those numbers come from the charts in the manual on page 11. There are slightly different default discrimination patterns that are preset for each of the four detecting modes which are also on page 11.

The Legend has a totally separate single digit accept/reject notching feature similar to the Equinox where you can accept or reject any number or numbers manually or automatically.

I think i will get the Legend anyway .

My Deus 1 goes tomorrow as part payment for the Deus 11 .

They are both a must have.

  17. For the moment . Wait.

The Legend is coming and i am not certain of all its capabilities after seeing a Calabash Digger video on it .

No Iron Bias ? and black sand capability and the Ferro check only working on shallow targets ?? were the subjects .

As for the Nox 800 ? If i buy the Legend that is to replace the Nox. But right now i need answers .

Or the Legend wont be bought.

I wonder if the reason for the delay to the shops is so Nokta can sort these issues ?

  18. I think its early days . Not many will know the machine and settings are key to success.

I want mine for land mainly and want only multi freq machines in the long run.

What ever issues it has right now with instability i'm sure XP will bring out regular updates to sort things out.

As for depth ? If the machine using an 11 inch coil can pick up a £1 coin at 11 inches then i'm happy . Thats usually the best sounding stable depth for a coin with an 11 inch coil.

No machine is perfect at all depths on all targets . At least it is better built than some machines.

As for the dodgy targets on the vid. Its the tones. I always say it , there is nothing like the target info of an E.Trac . Even if the tones are a bit crackly you will hear the target .

I want to hear the targets in the other tones , fluty tones are best .

But in any case if it does a two way tone its a digger.

When i get mine i will take it to my beaches . If it gets on there it will work on most.
