I see no problem there.. run the cable unter your T-shirt, jacket or what ever and your're good to go. Until now I've managed digging with corded headphones, but that involved a long research and testing phase with different types of cables to get satisfying results

Nowadays it's surprisingly hard to find good or even any spiral cable..

Most of the time it's ok for me, but gets pesky if I have to dig deep / big holes. So I'm looking forward testing / using both solutions.

It's never a bad idea to have options for different demands - choose what you prefer

Nice, among some others I used the Jolly Rogers. Got them silly cheap and put different drivers in them. Now they sound pretty decent.

Well - you can use your favorite existing headphones with the benefit of having no wire running to the detector...

I really like that feature!

On the beach I use pinpointing all the time. Saves me from messing around with an extra pinpointer and armed with a little selfmade sand scoop, it's almost a 90% hit on the first try. So for me a must have feature

Well, there was some subtle irony in my comment

But if the machine isn't serviceable - who would stick a SD card in a slot which hasn't got any locking mechanism in a device which is used outdoors? Just imagine you drop the machine an that damn card pops out..

I really hope the slot is meant for development puposes only.. like quick firmware changes while doing field-tests..

Keep in mind, that the 800 comes with BT Headphones AND WM08.

To do a better comparison / decision one would need to know the retail prices for those.. !

.. and of course if you need them..

The board used in the photos did not even need to be functional. It has to show antenna and communication chip locations.

Those foil cables seem to be double sided, so no worries there
