I hope you wont take this the wrong way, but the comically bad technique, filming and target recovery, combined with the shaking hands with the first hint of gold made the whole video charming and enjoyable. Well done!
I'm lucky I even recorded it..... It sounded like a good target and loud enough, but if you pay attention I pulled a 22 cal. casing which was together in the same hole ..... I wont't be posting anymore it's too stressful and hoping there is really gold there .....

The weather in northern Nevada has been extraordinarily nice this past month, but it's due to deteriorate rapidly soon; time to head for the sunny warmness of the Arizona goldfields. During the last 3 weeks I've managed to scrounge up 43.4 grams (27.9 dwt) of the good stuff from old patches with the GPZ 7000 and stock 14" coil. Largest nugget weighs 7 grams (4.5 dwt) and the deepest bit was close to a foot and a half.
Nice collection man...... I'm going to buy a Garrett ATX soon ...... I use an XP ORX ......

Took the ORX to 9,200 feet in the Colorado mountains today. It did really well in a lot of iron, tin, lead, brass, along with ironstone and gneiss/schist hot rocks. One 2.5 grain nugget/flake and a nice 1.5 gram specie. Gold 1 worked really well with frequency at 54 kHz, IAR 2, reactivity 2, iron volume on, sensitivity 90, threshold 10, 9" HF coil. The 1.5 gram specie was 6" deep with a nail and ironstone hot rock within 2 " radius. I could still hear the gold loud and clear. The 2.5 grain was 3" deep. The lead bullet and button back were both 8" deep. I was fairly certain that the iron and tin can shards were iron range targets but there is so much black sand at this location that every target has a little iron response especially in the scoop. Kept thinking I was going to break the ORX in this rugged terrain. No problem. Can't wait to get back up to this location that is NOT known for any gold over 1/2 gram.
Jeff
I'm not showing off ...... But it really works once you tune your ears well !!!!!!!...... I pick limited trash, the sounds and woof woofs are evident to trash and gold ..... I do pick up some lead bullets once in a while ..... Congratulations on the nuggets !!!!!

Manny ... I enjoy my ORX w/5X9½ HF DD coil as you were using, but haven't had success YET in some of the Eastern Oregon gold mining ghost town areas I hunt. My age and impaired mobility have limited my mobility afoot, but I plan on getting a side-by-side RUV for next year's adventures. That will let me maneuver into more of their prospecting areas.
Now all I need to do is spend this coming cabin-fever season to work on some settings and mode picks to be ready for the challenge. Would you mind sharing the op. frequency and settings that brought you that success afield? I, and others, would appreciate the input.
Thanks,
Monte
As I promised my settings are on user # 6
Sensitivity 90 but can be lowered to 85 if ground is hot
Frequency 26.6 KHZ
Reactivity 2.5
Disc IAR 0
Iron Volume OFF
Threshold (2) very light hummm
Manual Ground balance between 85 and 87 Arizona ground seems to be hot but the ORX balances good at 87

It's got plenty of settings to experiment with, I am running a custom gold program that I made and man.....With the headphones you can pick up a small piece of gold in hard packed 8-10 inches at a sensitivity of 90 and a threshold of (3)....
I'm using 26.3 khz and no discrimination..... I found a lead BB at 8" inches depth.
It's a fun and easy way to hunt......I don't get to find many coins, but I found an old silver dime...... You know the guy with the wings on his head ....... But like always dig every target......because the dang machine pics up everything......
Thanks XP
When I get home today I will give you the exact settings..... I'm on the road today heading from Phoenix to Tucson..

It will hit a .04 gram nugget at 10+ inches .....

Yep it does good on GOLD ......

I decided to hit a hammered colonial site where the last several times there with the Nox 800 no significant non-ferrous items were found. Every couple trips I might find a cuff button. So was running the ORX with 9” round hf coin in coin fast 28khz, but switching to coin deep at 54 kHz., reactivity 3, sensitivity 94. Found 1792-1812 period American naval button ( undetermined variety as yet). With 13 5-pointed stars and Philadelphia back mark. Also found cuff link, outside of large 2-pc ball button.
Thesewere all found within 45 minutes, and other targets were going to be found for sure.
I’m totally impressed with the machine. So much so that last night I ordered a 9” XP X35 coil, because folks? The XP ORX is a keeper with a long future. Deepest target ( squarenail ) at 1 1/2. Punpointer lengths. (15”-16”)
It's an amazing machine.... For real ! .... It paid for itself in (2) weeks using it in Arizona .... 12 grams of 22 K

I think it’s defective. I returned mine and got a new one which is perfect. Remember, when charged it will periodically blink when in sleep mode. The defective one wasn’t doing that either, although it did work. If I were you I’d contact the seller and get a replacement.
Good luck
The charge block sucks...... I just ordered a custom made one (DetectingDoodads.com) that rocks and can run it over with a car......

Those are some great finds. I have found the ORX to be much better than the Deus for gold prospecting since it has four features in its two Gold modes that the Deus Goldfield mode lacks. They are Iron Volume, dedicated Threshold Tone with volume adjustment, the big Iron Probability Bar, and the big, awesome numerical Target ID display. These can turn the ORX into a two separate VCO tones detector: ferrous-low VCO tone/grunt and non-ferrous-med/high VCO. It also handles hot rocks and hot ground very well. With the addition of the display and iron bar plus the lightweight portability............it makes for an outstanding gold prospecting detector that has easily found gold for me too.
Jeff
Love mine and it's rocking .... said good bye to My Whites TDi SL ...... Has a better balanced threshold in hot grounds....

Just got my XP ORX last week and took it today to a ground I tested many times with my Whites TDI SL in Rio Verde Arizona and yep the ORX is a step forward in my opinion ..... These were found today (9) Nuggets the largest is 4.46 grams at 10" inches, for a total of eleven grams of (22kt) gold and yes packed in solid mineralized hot ground not touched in millions of years .......
Does it work ? well let the images answer that ......

Included are deposit names, locations, commodities, deposit description, geologic characteristics, production, reserves, resources, and references.
