the price of $1500 was a reduced price only for the first 100 units

Ok, so that means the version they are selling now is the final improved version of the detector? If so what improvements have been made to the "Limited" version? Have all the issues been addressed such as faulty potentiometers? Has the short 3 hour battery life been extended? Has the fragile cables sticking out the back been redesigned so there is no risk of breakage? I just don't see the justification of charging an additional $500 If no issues were fixed from the feedback they received from the first "100" units..

I'm surprised Slimpickuns hasn't chimed in. I think he has had a minor issue but I do know for a fact he has killed it out here with his. I know 2 others here in So.Cal that , for them , have been a nightmare.

Hey KOB!  Yup I still use mine and thankfully I haven't had any technical problems with it since the last time I sent it in for warranty repair about a year ago for a faulty potentiometer issue. Felix handled the warranty repair and they did a good job of repairing it and getting it back to me quickly with no money out of my pocket thankfully.

Now that my warranty has been up for about a year I got my fingers crossed. I did have a few issues with it recently, a broken "Clevus" and broken arm cuff. I bought a spare clevus & rod long ago when others were having problems with theirs so I took care of that problem quickly when it broke recently. The arm cuff I replaced with an after market aluminum cuff, plastic arm cuffs just don't hold up for me and always crack and break eventually. Its a great machine but I would not buy one for 2g's and not without the warranty to back it up.

July has been slow for gold so far but with all the heat we've been having lately more people are heading to the beaches so hopefully some gold is being dropped by the masses. I've been seeing more detectorist out on the beaches in the wee hours of the morning, the good news is a lot of them don't know how to swing a detector, a lot of smiley face golf swinging goin on.

  3. I still love my AQ, even after the few times I've had to send it in for warranty repair (potentiometer issues). Pulled loads of gold with it and has paid for itself many times over. OBN's big boy battery is still working great as well and allows me to spend as much time as I want on the beach without worry.  I definitely think they need to source more reliable potentiometers, seems to be a common issue with these units.

On a side note, I still love my Sovereign GT as well for beach hunting, I have no need for a screen, just let me hear those sweet mid/low gold tones and I'm happy...😁

I hope the First Texas post is correct and not an error. The 8 inch is OK ... yet I'd like a ten inch.

Any idea if the production model coil connector is the same as or compatible with the LTD?

I sent an email to FTP sales support (Arturo Barrientos) asking If there is a 10" coil available for the Fisher AQ, his reply was that there is not one available...
