  1. Chris, I appreciate facts. i also didnt think i was dreaming it would be anything above average for gold as it is a Mine detector.

I might even hold out hope for that gold end-cap for the machine to make it. that much more sensitive. ? Ya never know (pleasing machine owners sells machines i would think)

As i have not had a chance to study this further, so i have no idea about the abilities for modification of this unit. Perhaps for m.l. it would be very easy to enhance with certain programming changes i dont know.

if they Could do this rather cost effictively(if even possible) it creates another revenue stream, pleases a minelab f3 owner, and perhaps utilizes a machine a little more.

Once again, thanks for the engaging reply, as most any feedback is good feedback. Happy hunting.

  2. 1850's home site. I actually kicked it out when I rubbed the area with my boot. It was in the top layer of grass and when I saw it it was about a foot away from the original area of the signal.

Many of our relics in these undisturbed sites are not very deep. You just never know so you dig it all.

    (Got it figured out, woot-woot)

Thats refreshing, would have thought something that large would been found by now. It would be interesting to see what its value could be, being one of a handful.

    Continued prosperity to you, friend.

  3. Chris, My, you are a pot of joyful news! NOT...

But...., i expected this, and you are right.

i sure would like to find that super-bargain to give that little better chance at sucess.

i wouldnt expect minelab to just sell the parts, but certainly they realize that as these become available people will want to maximize its real ability. i would have no problem sending it in to hq. for retro-fit for reasonable amount.

And yes, of course its surplus.. who would pay retail for this machine given the options? Like i stated earlier: waterproof, compact, tough, pi machine- all for under 600 shipped in.

Thanks for info though, be well.

  4. Thanks guys!

Spencer, I'm actually at 30%; at this rate it will pay for itself by mid-July.

that is FRICKEN awesome. I envy you fellas in goood gold-hunting ground. I guess that just means more rewarding/appreciative the out-of-state trips should be.

    happy hunting.

  5. I think most of us "oldies" may be in the same boat. We just didn`t take enough photos, we had the gear to do it, I want to tell episode two of "Lizard Ck." but I`ve no photos of any but that big piece. But I`m going there this winter with the GPZ and camera for episode three. GPZ magic I hope, just gotta be another biggie at depth, never got there with the 5000, busted a CV joint on the way in.

That is why I really go for the Gold Hound videos, imagine in 100 years, your descendants coming across those videos. Whowll !! look how my great greats lived, look at the magic journey their life was, in 100 years we are all going to be born with a bar code on us or chip implanted, no individuality, like bloody robots. Keep them coming Hounds.

    I could not agree more.

i would love to see video of how they actually did it a century ago.

  6. Thanks Norvic,Lunk, & Steve.

I think i will have to do that Steve, load-up gm 2, gmt, fors gold and borrow dads gb 2.

No 705 to test. no golden hawk either.

I will try to get this done today(got to get video off to Dilek abt fors issue anyway)so maybe video both.

Dont quite understand my video uploading processes yet, so might take a couple days for me to complete.

btw-prospecting is main focus of desired machine.

  7. I probly would have been home that night too. I can understand your desire to be mum on the finds subject, and thanks for sharing. i too agree that these events should be recorded- little clues for future generations. great to hear that it is possible to score big over the next hill.

  8. After my post this morning abt the events i got to thinking; this website has already got to require a commitment of time and i am asking for something that may require additional time invested, isn t he doing plenty just by hosting this site? This thought stuck with me all day and led me to create this post.

THANK YOU STEVE for creating and running this website I sincerely appreciate the enrichment it has given and the knowledge it has given/helped spread. I applaud you, and you have my respect.
