Good report GB, I'm liking the Axiom more and more, I have seen what the 6000 can do, so one week I'm getting the 6000 and the next week I'm back on the Axiom. All the reading I have done both machines seem to be on a par with each other, I like the extra function on the Axiom.
I don't get out a lot, hopefully more this year. I don't think anyone can go wrong with either machine going by what I have read.
Thank you once again for the excellent reporting. You had better get out now and find some of the yellow stuff.
Cheers.

Hi GB, when you get Axiom back from Bo, will you be able to post his thoughts on Axiom? Was hoping to have a look at an Axiom today but dealer had no stock, so will have to wait.
Cheers

Thanks Steve.

Thanks for the reply GB, maybe Steve can answer the question on the numbers, have been going to ask the question for a while. Thanks again for putting up all the testing you have done, I for one have learnt a lot from it.
Cheers and good luck to you.

Can I ask a question on the Axiom ground balance, shows two numbers on the screen. Why two numbers? what do they represent?
Cheers

Your back!! and good to see Gone Bush. And a good result in the end, good on to your dealer for the excellent service he gave you over the holiday season.
Watched your YouTube and best description I have seen yet. Fully understand re the threshold pitch, so a setting of 80 I think you said is that high or low tone?
Really good outcome. I think I have made up my mind now on which way to go, that won't be until April, hope there's still plenty of stock by then.
Cheers, Peter

In the new year, was thinking of a 6000 and followed the problems it was having and seems to be ok now. And then the Axiom came along and made me lean more towards the Axiom, and you started having trouble (looks like the only one though) should be a few more in oz by now? you would think.
Thank you so much for posting and spending so much time to try and get to the bottom of this problem, when you could be out finding gold.
I wander if Garrett in the US follow DP? and chase it up with Garrett in oz. From what we hear Garrett are very good with warranty. We will see.
Thank you thank you for posting.
Cheers Peter.

MMMM sounds disappointing. Been following the Axiom been very interested so far. And first negative report so far, maybe a fault. Hopefully a good outcome.

Following the Axiom with great interest. They are just starting to get out and about in Australia now. For me it will be a couple of months yet.

Good report phrunt, from all reports the 6000 is looking pretty good now after the speaker EMI fix.
A bit more time yet, deciding what to settle for.
Cheers

yep, I believe they go to Garrett Australia, the importer.
Ah, yes forgot they are in oz. Thanks.

In case of more series problems, I wander if there is a service agent in Australia?

Further testing today confirms even after multiple hours of use the 6000 remains stable while using the speaker, it just has it's usual EMI problems now which were never going to be solved with this update, they don't call them PI's for nothing, Pulse Interference detectors 🙂
Happy with the repair, I'd recommend everyone get it done, even if you don't use the speaker 🤪 why own a detector with an underlying fault. I'm quite happy with the 6000 now, still it's got nothing on the 7000 other than weight but at least it's a good product now, better shaft pending.
<---Moved it back into my gear used section now.
This is all good feed back on the repair, I don't own a 6000 yet but looking at next year when all this has settled down.

Lets hope Minelab can sort all these 6000 problems out. I would like to get one, but! don't want to go through all the problem you are going through. And now another one in Australia!
-
And there's probably a lot out there that we don't here about? I know Minelab are good with warranty returns but that's not the point, it's happening far to often for me.
Haven't Minelab ever acknowledged that there is a problem with this and that? And what they are doing about it. I hope that they have it sorted by next year when I would like to get one. (or an Axiom) wait and see.
I know they are good when working, have worked beside 4 machines and was very impressed.
-
I saw this on PA, I was thinking of buying one next year, surely Minelab must know about these problems? yet there is know comment from them! the amount of money we pay in oz it's not good enough Minelab.
I'm holding off until next year and hopefully these problems will be sorted out.

Also looking forward to this test.

Yes for mono coils you'd need to use the mono coil to make an adapter, for concentric coils you'd need to use the DD coil to make an adapter. The chip tells the detector which type of coil is plugged in, that's it's other purpose. It did it on the GPZ too, my GPZ tells me my X-coils are a NF Z-search when I use my long adapter cable.
It seemed the perfect coil to use as I'll never use it anyway so I don't need it's warranty.
I don't get it! Why do this to a nugget finder coil?

Good to see you came back GM. Really look forward to this read every day . 🙂

Sorry about the negative response from PA forum you were met with GM. Sadly that's the way PA Australia is.

Again a good report GB. I was thinking of ordering a WR-1 myself from the states, you have saved me the trouble.
I haven't got an Axiom but will have, tried one intown yesterday on some small test bits of gold, I'm happy now to go ahead and order the Axiom.
I know what you mean by sweaty ears and headphones we get the same thing in FNQ.
Cheers Peter
