Thanks for the reply. I saw a "tips" video that suggested ground balancing it when it is turned on (tip into the dirt away from metal when turned on). Would this help the instability? I haven't tried that (or your suggestion) yet.

What's the issue with the Pro-Find 35? I bought one but have only used it once.

New member here. Bought a Whites MXT many years ago and used it for a few years for some fresh water beach detecting. After a long hiatus I took it out again this summer and decided I wanted to do a little more detecting and that it was time for an upgrade. My Manticore arrived last week and I hope to get out to the beach next weekend to see what it's like.
