Hi everyone, thanks for the kind words. FTP is shaping up to be an interesting job. Way more horsepower and openness to new ideas, plus I get to work with Dave. Always wanted to work with Dave.
Yes, you can take a TDI and force it to sample at 8us, and it may or may not work. It's certainly not mass-producible. A mass production 6-8us sampler is a different design. I've done it, but in deference to my previous employer I can't say what I done. I can say that I believe I can do it again in a way that doesn't infringe on my past, but I can't say when that might happen, as my plate is already full, overflowing, and spilling all over the floor. FTP will keep me hopping for a long time.
Reg, I still owe you a call. Maybe next week when I'm back in El Paso. Meanwhile, feel free to email me.

Good morning all!
Steve, I was wondering how the seminar went at Happy Camp.
I hope my friend Stan was able to attend it.
Best wishes!

Oh well. Hard day of Pickleball today. Got hit right in the eye with a ball in my first game and some burly guy from the next court crashed into me chasing a ball and knocked me silly in my last game.
The detector and gold gods are punishing you. You are supposed to be out digging nuggets. They need sunshine and fresh air!

Rick,
it should work out ok for you. I have an old SD2000 that was modified by finders in Australia. I have 3 power supplies for it.
2-6 volt batteries with the domes on top, which duplicate the original power supply but without the extra headphone junction box. 2-12volt batteries and a Coiltek regulator that puts out 7.3 volts, that works great. Also 2-7.4 Li-ion batteries that velcro to the control box, for a light weight setup so I don't have to us the backpack for the batteries.
It seems that 7.3 or 7.4 volts is ideal for all the SD model Minelabs.
It's been said that the modified SD2000 with large mono coils really goes deep on the big nuggets. I wouldn't know since all I have around here is small stuff.
I think you will enjoy it.
Best of luck!

Hi Jim,
Great to see you posting here and hope it will be often. I know you have a lot to contribute.
I think Black Widows are in my future but they should have called them Mickey Mouses cause that is what you look like when wearing them!
Thanks Steve.
They do look like big ears for sure. LOL

The Black Widow is a good headphone if you are hard of hearing.

Howdy Trev!
It's been a long time since I've heard from you.
Loved your story about the machine chasing you down the beach and catching fire. What a hoot.
I hope all is well with you.
Are you still beach mining?
Best wishes to you and yours.
