Nice finds! What state did you find those in? (If you don’t mind me asking)
Missouri

I'm not an expert & I don't have my references handy, but I think they are for a LeMatt revolver, a popular arm for Confederate Calvary. French made and pretty rare find.
The guy I was with told me that I’d find a couple different ones there. One being longer than the other. I think they made them for pistols and rifles but I’m not 100% sure on that.
The pic is a bullet and case I found at a different location and just put them together to show what they looked like.

Nice finds! What is the letter/numeral/symbol in the middle of the shield on the Eagle button? Looks like a 'Z' or a '2' in the photo but (not being a CW expert) I'm not familiar with either of those two (if that's what it shows).
It’s an I for infantry

Do you know what the pinfire cartridges are? Nice relics.
Just an older cartridge. The hammer struck the pin which ignited the powder. I found one that hasn’t been fired and one of the bullets still has part of the casing on it too.

Those uniform cuff buttons are special, quite a few lost too. Do you think it a camp or a place with action? What did you find out about their ID? Some interesting finds!
It was a camp a friend got the permission to hunt. There was another camp across the road about a quarter mile from this one. He told me this camp was older dating back to the 40’s and the other location was 60’s with both Confederate and Union relics. He’s done the research and even knows the regiment’s that were there and all that stuff.
There was fighting there as well. I don’t know much other than what I’ve been told about the area. Thanks -

What a hunt you had with all those relics.
What were you using to find them?
Good luck on your next hunt.
I was using my Deus with the 11x13” coil. Thanks!

great finds. I wonder what kind ok kick a rifle had shooting a .69 cal like the one you fired. Would probably stop a bear.
I’m sure it had a kick but I’d for sure rather be on the sending than receiving end.

That is a cool digger Tom. Started to make a folding digger here but haven't gotten around to finish it off. Blade and parts are done just have to assemble it.
Really like those leather pouches, just afraid if they get wet they will get trashed.
I just treated it to protect it and use it rain or shine. Good luck on you folding digger. I like making things seems you do to. Look forward to seeing some pics when you get it done.

What's cool there is that Red screw driver thing, I want one, I want one badly! I'd need a bit longer than that probably for the depth coins are here but it looks great.
I’ve got a few ready to put together but they’re spoken for. I’ll get ya one made up before too long.

I really like both these pouches. The pin pointer sheath will hold my trx or the mi6. Special stuff goes in the little leather pouch modern is just dropped in the side pouch. The little tool I made out of a Mac scraper and a plow disc. It’s great for shallow stuff or weaseling down in between the roots.

Congrats on the barber and those model t keys are cool too!

Quite interesting what you can find at old house sites. It was great that USGS did that in the past. Congratulations on the eagle A and ring. 👍 Was there a lot of iron?
Thanks F350Platinum!
Yes, there was a lot of iron at the second. It took a while at the first to find it. I did get a 1915 d nickel at the first sight as well. I live just a mile west of where the battle here was and I’ve read that the line was a mile wide but most of the relics we’ve found have been closer to the main path headed into town and in town. Good idea Dan. Congrats on your retirement.

Nice recovery! Deep coins are easy to miss for sure. Congrats!

I had a nice little surprise this afternoon. Our club meeting was this afternoon and I thought I’d go hunt for a while before the meeting. I was glad I did. Nothing great but anything thing civil war left there are few and far between.
I took the Deus and was using g Max then switching to 6 deep to check the target so nothing fancy just factory settings. There’s a lot of trash as you’d expect in a park. I was just playing but trying to learn if I could get any tell that would help in the decision to dig or not. This particular target sounded not bad but very similar to a lot of the other targets. However this time the line in the graph was better. I said to myself hmmm better check this out. Out popped a three ringer! I’m pretty sure this target had been hit before but nobody dug it. Just a little extra info caused me to investigate and recover another mini from the 1861 battle here.

Wow Dan!

I haven't found that myself. Yesterday I dug a small piece of aluminum that was over 14" deep in clay/sand soil with a 4" topsoil. That and 4"+ of grass on top!
I'm running at full sensitivity, and only have real experience with the Equinox so I could be wrong, but I'm happy to see a result like that.
F350Platinum,
All I can account for is the type soil we have here in this area. I have found plenty of coins with the 11" coil at the 10" plus depth. Took a few videos and actually sent one to a friend of live digs when I was pretty confident I had a deep coin. The 5X10 is very respectable and as I stated in an earlier post I've been using it exclusively since the 11" went down. When you get to the edge of detection depth you just know. I was very pleased with the 5X10 and I dug one wheatie and one merc that were just over 9" but the signal was such most people wouldn't dig it but it sounded like a deep coin to me and a very easy target to miss. I just knew I was pushing the edge of the detection depth on that coil. But it did tell me they were there. Because of past experience with the 11" I know for sure it's a little deeper perhaps close to two inches on penny dime size targets. I'll be going back over that area with the 11" in a few weeks hoping to find a few more deeper coins.
Both great coils and the only two I've kept out of the three minelab and 5x10 coiltek that I've used. Nothing wrong with the 6" or 15" Minelab I'm just content with the 11" and 5X10 coils.
I gave my son the 6" and he really likes it for yards as I did. The 5x10 has replaced it for me. The 15" is probably a touch deeper than the 11" but the weight although not terrible was just more than I wanted to swing. I'm just happy to have ole#11 back in service...hopefully for many more years. Ears hoping!😁
HH! Tom
