  1. I started detecting using the Minelab Excalibur II and loved it. I had more time on it and really got to know the Excal.

Eventually, I sold it and was immediately disappointed. I see the Equinox as the perfect replacement for my Excalibur. Not that the Equinox is a replacement for what the Excal does but a replacement for me personally.

Also, the new Equinox’s speed and weight is a very big plus.

    Best of Luck everyone!

After looking at those stats so far tell me companies shouldnt raise an eyebrow and produce more serious salt water machines.....not just waterproof machines.  Thanks Steve..... i think this is going to be interesting and maybe eye opening.   Disregarding coins....... i wonder how many of those park and beach hunters are looking to find more GOLD targets?

I certainly am. I'm primarily a beach hunter. So if I can replace finding aluminum pull tabs and tent stakes for more gold finds I will have gotten my monies worth on the new Equinox.

Hi Beachhunter , Sounds  like your wife doesn't detect saying that . (  if she does don't let her out of your site , she is your treasure) ?

Thank you for your kind words Judy. She’s the life that breathes in me.

I am pretty sure we won't have to wait long for after market carbon fiber shafts. I would be interested in a one piece carbon fiber upper shaft for local sites.  Use the stock aluminum 2 piece shaft for travel.  There is a one piece carbon fiber upper available for the gold monster on eBay.  Steve, are the outer and inner diameters of the gold monster upper shaft the same as the equinox?

I’d be interested in the shaft’s I.D. And O.D. I have couple of carbon fiber shafts in my shop and would love to make a CF shaft for the Equinox.
