I have 2 6000's. I had the speaker fix done to both of them. I notice a all around improvement since the fix. More stable and less erratic even with the headphones which I use 90%of the time. Before the speaker fix, the 12x7 nf was my 2nd favorite coil and the 10x5 coiltek was #1 because it ran more quiet. Since the fix, I'm loving the 12x7 and they both run quiet and stable now. As far as settings go, I'm using difficult/ manual and running the sensitivity at the lowest possible setting. It seems to run the most quiet for me there. And am very confident I'm not missing much.

Most overrated idea ever. You can already use the AI between your ears. Steve H. 🤣
I have another brilliant idea 💡. How about everyone has a dedicated digger person named Mongo that digs all targets for you. Then us egotistical detectorists can do what we do best. No AI, discrimination, no 2 in one detectors needed. Just Scott & Mongo.

Since we are thinking outside the box.... Why couldn't a detector also incorporate some AI into it? Then based on what signals are processed it can determine whether you should dig the target or not.

I seen your pic on Fb earlier today. Congrats on now being ruined for the rest of your life with gold fever.

Well, I had to really work to find them 4 lil bits. And they could have possibly been left by Klunker because he is tired of digging small bits. I really enjoy running the 6000 in hilly areas. It's just plain lighter and you can place the coil in more areas over the course of a day because of that. I'm running the 6000 with a 12x7 NF on the difficult with the lowest possible sensitivity. But in all fairness, I've found super tiny bits with the 7000.

Almost every time I get a chance to get out there, I have to get some berries, but mainly get some chicken of the woods mushrooms. They grow year round and if you know how to gather them up you won't hurt them and they will continue to grow.
I went with a friend who is quite knowledgeable on mushrooms. He did pick some chicken of the woods. I'm just not confident enough yet on identifying it to eat them yet.

Forgot to mention that the gold berry's keep indefinitely, but do not make good syrup, jelly or even a good topping on pizza....
No, but they make a great meal while conversing about the gold finds.

Strange as it seems, my wife loves to do crafts with pine cones.
Regular pine cones or the big Sugar pine cones?

Going off of Ron's post.... but has coil technology hit a wall? What can be done with different windings? Different shapes? Computer chips. If we possibly don't see much newer detector technology, is new coil technology possible? What can be done on Monoloops? What can be done on DD's? What can be done on Concentric coils?? Will the Detector companies ever team up with X coils, Coiltek, Nuggetfinder and truly optimize coil improvements? Or should we put this wishful thinking aside and just be happy with what we already have?

You can't tell if that car is coming or going..... Kinda like Strick up at the diggins. 😜

I still chat with Paul every month or so. Seems to be doing well.

I have to say that this is so awesome that a company is reaching out to a niche hobby such as metal detecting. 👏
I love using the Tourus on my minelab 6000, and 800. I also use them on my 7000 with a rx/TX adapter. I also use the Tourus all week at work as a carpenter listening to music and podcasts. I do tend wear the battery out fast at work because of the volume at full. I'm not really up to date on all of the latest technology mumbo-jumbo, so some layman's terms might help with some of the old dogs in this group. Again thanks for reaching out to out wonderful family of detecting fools. 😆

I was sitting in my truck during a fishing trip when lightning and rain blew in. Lightning hit the large tree next to where I was parked. As the lightning came down the tree blowing bark off like crazy, when the lightning hit the ground it looked like a super large red Lazer beam. It only last a few seconds but was unforgettable. I still have a piece of the tree that was blown off as a keepsake.

Minelab is just conditioning you for the $15,000 usd price tag for the GPB-end over 8000 comes out. 🤣

Thanks for the product notice information, basically it's a bad design for a dusty, dirty environment but anyway, what's done it done, a better design is more surface contact area, you know like battery contacts from the 1980's 🙂 This has been a known issue for a while now and I and many others have pointed out you need to keep those terminals very clean and to clean them with electronics cleaner or alcohol, the same thing with the Nox/Manticore terminals but to a lesser degree as the detector doesn't rely on them for operation, just charging.
So as a carpenter myself, I'm constantly using cordless drills, saws, etc daily. Charging and changing out batteries several times a day. Most of these tools run several hundred dollars each. And have never had a issue with the batteries or connection to the tool. Nor have I ever cleaned them. I have dirt, dust, sawdust, concrete dust. So you think when you buy a high end detector in the $6000 usd range, you wouldn't have these sort of issues.

Are you having low run times on your gpx6000 batteries? Or other battery related issues? Here is some important information regarding that.

It is strange how the Extra Deep Gold Mode of the GPZ 7000 isn’t given so much as a mention in this thread, given that it is the lowest frequency option and coupled with the 19-inch coil would be the Zed's weapon for large, deep nuggets. 🤷♂️
Lunk, this is something I want to know more about from you and anyone else that uses the extra deep mode. It seems to be the most forgotten and least used mode.
