  1. gary,

I had a picture up on this forum or robs with my 2300 using a radio shack speaker....it was functional.

little weird sounding somtimes, but functional...

got the smallest piece ever with it and it was plenty loud for my deaf ears...

the rig I put on also is a mount for my bungee cord....it pulls the toe of the coil up and out front...

Here's my little "Hampster Campster" I use in AZ--

This picture was when I was set up down the wash from Rob's state claim.. next to Tex Houston's camp.

At Rich Hill, probably 2011-----right before I took it down to SOAZ  so it could live at Border Boys', for  use at the  Greaterville area.

I loved sleeping on top looking at the AZ stars at night----about 3 am they seemed like you could reach out and touch them....

  3. Yeah, I have heard the same thing. It would not surprise me if there was a lag but we will see. It might create a lag on target reaction which would bug people like me that never use the pinpoint trigger. It would not effect a non-motion pinpoint mode though so worst case I would have to use the darn trigger.

There are low latency Bluetooth options available these days. For people like me that need to study up on it, here is a good reference http://theheadphonelist.com/wireless-fidelity-making-sense-bluetooth-headphone-technology/

Hahahahaaha....that darn trigger.!!!...... what an obtacle to have to overcome...... lololol

That cracked me up this morning Steve, Thanks for the laugh....

  4. I met you there at Chicken in 2013 i think Steve.... I was working at the VA in Anchorage and got 2 weeks off to come and play.

I was staying a Chicken trying to highbank without a whole lot of results....just picked the wrong spot.

Well one day when I had already put in my day at Chicken and after taking a shower I hit the road to explore.....

I drove on up to Walker Creek Campground and was very impressed. It is a beautiful setting there on the river.

I went up the road a bit to a turnout and decided walk over and see what Jack Wade was all about.

That turned out to be a BIG mistake!! ---

After taking that shower with the flowery smelling shampoo the mossies made a beeline to me!!!

I literally HAD to keep moving...i broke a branch out of a bushy tree for a mosquito swatter, went to the creek, swatting the whole time and couldnt even set the swat down long enough to get a panful of river gravel. Hahahaha...

It would have been a funny video and I am sure i made the fastest recon of the mouth of Jack Wade Creek that has ever been done!

    Beautiful, beautiful country.....

If i ever go back I will stay at Walker Fork Campground.

(Althought the food is pretty good at Chicken Gold Camp)

  5. Exactly Lucky,

That is kinda what i was saying about once i pinpoint it--the target seems to be off to the right and kind of surprises me.... those little things are murder to find!!! But if anyone is in a good patch and need help digging-----i am a good digger!!!! just ask Border Boy---

    lolol

  6. You know Fred---even if my rig works as well------- i have to help fund ML and other comapanies...... i do it so they will stay in business and give me plenty of ways to blow my money---LOLOL

    Let me know Rick!!!

Chris P's Hip stick is great no doubt---i did like the compactness of this rig where the strut is almost completely out of the way//

we will see....you know the deal......lol

  7. Same here--takes a little getting used to but mine seems to be hottest at about 10:00----and when i was missing targets they were usually to the right of where i thought they should be.... try it...

if that doesn't work take two aspirins and call me and we will go together to your favorite patch ;)

  8. Steve have you ever had a chance to check out the Kleer technology that was out a few years ago???

--- it all sounded good but then i couldnt find any Kleer units online---all discontinued---they must have lost the war with BT.....

--- i would like to know if it is definitely canned or maybe out there under another name if any one has any info--lay it on me...THX..

Here is what  Nenad said when we were discussing it a while back:

"The Kleer wireless protocal is much better suited to detectors in my opinion. There is a TDK wireless headphone that uses Kleer and I've heard some good things about them.

    Regards,

    Nenad "

It sure sounded good and did not have the lag problems.... as i recall...

    Thanks

    paul

UPDATE: I just found 7 of these discontinued TDK's on Amazon----(there are only 6 left now)  ;)

For anyone who is interested here is the link----

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003RRWRMC/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Here are 2 that are even more expensive but have a neat looking transmitter-

I suppose I will find out how bad the wireless chatter will affect the detector.... review coming.....

  9. Steve ,

Will the strut work on either side of the harness? Can it be flipped and used on the other shoulder?

Or is it designed to go across your body while you are swinging with your right hand?

I usually hook my TN rig up with the bungee hooked to the right shoulder of my harness from Home Depot.

    Thanks in advance,

    paul
