  1.    Most of us don't have the skills, or desire to modify coils! Especially if under warranty and/or waterproof! But yeah, I heard about that too!

Point is we shouldn't have to modify anything these days, except for an occasional software download, maybe  a shaft change, etc.. ML could have altered their coil design for the Nox line, or offered to give some software updates to the Nox if customers were adamant about something! At least while under warranty, if not for as long as an owner had one!

One thing that always bugged me was the low volume with headphones! Not near loud enough at the beach, especially low tones! (Could be my hearing also) I say make all your detectors loud, and let the customer be able to adjust as needed! Maybe they fixed that on the 7 and 9 hundred; don't know! But it could have been done on the 6 and 8 also via an update!👍👍

don't know why I assumed they had the same connection 🤦

Because with most any other detector company, that assumption would be generally correct, and make sense! Not so with ML and their chipped coils! At least they figured that out for the 700 and 900, so I will give them some credit! 👍👍

  3. Rvpopeye,

Just come to Florida already! You will never have to wait to detect, or dig through ice again!  The only melting that will happen here, is you disappearing into a pool of sweat, digging through all the feet of renurishment sand they are putting on the beaches; again!! Guaranteed to find the same kinds of targets too! Btw, spring has sprung here; shocker!!🥵⛱️

In NZ you don't have to worry about a bear or a bigfoot or anything else making a charge at you. What is it you would need to be hearing going on around you? A wild pig maybe but then you wouldn't really be detecting in that type of terrain & vegetation.

If Simon is like most of us, the biggest animal to "fear" Is man!! We are our own worst enemy! There was a thread on here not too long ago about just that!

Also, Simon has posted pics of some of his terrain, which is some pretty steep, and remote stuff in the mountains! I'm sure he wants to hear falling rocks, etc..! But other than those two he has little else to fear! But mostly, he hates wearing headphones!

I have studied the "Simon" in its natural habit for several years, via the forum; interesting animal! He has learned to store dozens of electronic devices in his backyard den, as the female of the species demands the main den be clutter free!! 😆😜👍👍

  5.    I also emailed AlgoForce, and got a response in a day! Even with the inundation of emails, Alex seems to be on top of responding to them all! I had some questions on water resistance, and salt air intrusion! So he is aware of those of us who intend to use the detector for beach use, and our concerns!

Definitely a fast moving thread, and a well kept secret, as far as it's introduction!👍👍

I agreed to do one half of the hunt here and then go to the planned beach.

That's one of the late signs of obsessive detecting! Telling yourself what your doing, than agreeing with yourself that your gonna do it!😆

Nice job again, and impressive haul! Love the big Franklin especially! Seem rare as hens teeth, as most have been hoovered up!🍀👍👍

  7.    Didn't see in the specs, but I'm guessing moisture resistant! Not waterproof, but hopefully salt air proof, as no IP rating! Already got two coils for it, one being the Sadie! Really want to see how it will do on the beaches, as that's where I'm already using my TDI SL! Wonder if my Miner Johns would work on it too!!🤔 Can't wait for some real testing to commence! Hurry up you all!!😆🍀👍👍

BTW, did notice this in the Quick start page! A common disclaimer? Will it need a tinfoil hat at the beach?

  8.   If it came out of the salt looking that good, I'd agree that the break could have been a repair/resize with some lesser metals! I don't see any other copper type corrosion anywhere else on the ring! That's a heart stopper when first seen moment! Hope it's all real!!🍀👍👍

I intend to make a trip up to these beaches sometime this year as they would have to be an untapped gold mine, very popular beaches for swimming yet nobody can detect them very well at all.

        Simon,

Here's a few suggestions for those conditions, depending on your budget, and energy level!😁🍀👍👍

Can’t say I blame them - us detectorists are like a nest of baby birds with endless appetites.

Hate to say it, but another analogy would be; A bunch of old hens that peck their "food" to pieces! We can be a tough bunch either way!😆👍👍
