  1.    As a Florida boy, I'd say my favorites are Siesta Key and North, up thru the panhandle,  on the West Coast! Do ask about the "Red Tide" conditions before booking West Coast though, as it is a respiratory irritant, especially in older folks, and individuals with a history of breathing problems! South of there are still recovering from the hurricanes, if I'm not mistaken!

East Coast (I'm in Melbourne) I'd say Vero North to past St. Augustine, but before Jacksonville! This time of year, ask about the seaweed conditions, as it can get messy if not removed! Disney Vero is a pretty safe bet for clean rooms, manicured beachs, and large pool area! And it is right in the center of the 1715 Treasure Fleet Wrecks! You might get lucky!

Then there's always the Savanna Ga area, and Hilton Head SC area; both very nice also! 🍀👍👍

It would be nice to have a Garrett Forum for Garrett users. It’s not the place for comparing brands. We have a forum for that specifically, and so what started as a thread for Garrett people on the Garrett Forum has been moved to the Comparisons Forum.

Why does detecting forum management have to be so difficult!!?😉 Your a good sport Steve, and a patient soul! (Mostly)!🤣👍👍

If you are not running what people deem to be the best (what THEY use) then you are a second class citizen. Threads like this always end up making it clear at some point.

        Steve,

I'm very happy to hear you, and others, reiterate that sentiment! When you're a new member here, it can be intimidating to post anything, when using what "some" may consider an "inferior or subpar" detector! Frankly, to me, there is no such thing, as they will all find stuff! And it is definitely the user and their mastery of that detector, being the primary factor in their success!

I know several people that can detect circles around some others, using an "old", or "cheap" detector, simply by knowing all the subtle nuances that these "inferior" machines tell them!  Digital, and most definitely, analog machines still have a firm place in my arsenal, as they still preform!

At some point, like many here, when I'm ready to whittle down my machines to a handful, I will still have at least one "old inferior" machine to pull out the stuff that gets passed over by the "latest and greatest" out there!🍀👍👍

  4. Thanks Simon,

Good and interesting info! I will probably never have the need for one, but the info is good even just for the knowledge base!

One of many examples of how ML is NOT keeping tabs on their quality control! Really, how much more time and cost would be involved in doing a good job on their products!👍👍

I'm glad it makes you want to get out.  That's why I participate in the forums....to get inspired, and hopefully to inspire!

         Zincoln,

I think you hit it right on the nose! These kinds of finds and stories are by far my favorite! You, F350, and several others definitely help me "get out there"!! Even though my area doesn't hold all the same kinds of items, I still love to see what you guys get to dig up!!

I also joined a local club this year, for the same reasons! The bonus, besides the interesting characters, is i get to see and touch the type of items I can actually find here!🍀👍👍

I am sure there is a few more members that had the same finds.

Yeah!! Me yesterday after two different beaches!!🦨 Been slim pickens!🤯

One thing no one talks about is how beaches turn "virgin" fo awhile, after a couple of back to back hurricanes!! Like waiting for more donuts, at a donut shop next to a police station!!😜🟦👍👍

I try to arrange my trash sometimes but nobody does it better than you. 👍

I've always said that Schools trash arrangements are a work of art, and should be framed! Might be the next Hot🔥 decorating trend with all the "Green♻️" people out there!! You can make them special; Sign and date each, and number them to coincide with the hunt number it's from, and place each in a Riker case!!👍

I'm Green with envy, for the Silver and Gold too!!🥁😁🍀👍👍

  8.    Awsome run again!🍀 Can you bottle some of that luck, and send it my way!?😁

Seriously though, I'd say location is key, but in your case, location aside, your hard work of mining land owners is the "secret" to your success! There are probably very few of us out there that have had the luck, and ba$$s big enough, to ask as much as you do for permissions! You earned it!!

Keep up the good work!! "May the clover be with you"!! (And it is, literally)!🍀👍👍

  9.    Yeah Kac, I'd say that they need to balance out their US service center a "bit" better for sure, to accommodate aging units, and keep up with current ones!

Even if a detector company is out of business, or has discontinued a  model, there is enough demand for someone to profit from machine repairs on a small scale! Specific parts (ie circuit boards and software), not withstanding!! White's and Tesoro's, among others, are still very popular, and sought after!! Love to keep them in the hunt!🍀👍👍

Silver always makes it a good hunt.

I did get a little silver bonus, when I cleaned up my coins a few days later! A 43' P War Nickel! I don't have but a few!

And the aliens promised me a detector that would vacuum up only the good targets! Think they lied just to get me on their ship!!🛸👽😜👍👍

  11.  GB,

I'll check the nickel when I get home, so you will have to be in suspense for a bit longer!!😂 But thanks for cluing me in on that, you coin expert you!!

As a bonus, I will snap a pick of one of my bronze spikes! You can authenticate it for me!!🤣👍👍

There are lots of old places along A1A.

       Yes mn,

As you know the area more than a bit, growing up around here, (Florida East Coast!)👍 Unfortunately, "progress" has taken it's toll along the old beach road!

At least here, compared to some counties to the South, Brevard County appears to have done their best to accommodate fair use by everyone, in their parks; thankfully!; and as it should be everywhere!!

One of these days, I may have to try getting some permissions for the best areas that are still here from the past!! That's an "art" in itself! In the meantime, as you said, moving to a new area, opens up new possibilities! That's always exciting!!👍👍

  13.    So, been a good while since I posted anything I've found! The beaches here have been pretty lean, since our back to back hurricanes washed everything out, and redeposited virgin sand! Only an odd Spanish coin or two, by a lucky few! And "mostly" very few recent drops for the rest of us!

But there's always somewhere to hunt, even if it's not your preferred areas! Today was one such day!

I've been slowly following up on some historical research, as many of you do, since I moved here about a year ago! And decided to work some old sidewalk strips!  I had the 5x10 Coiltek on the 800, as I knew that there is always tons of trash in these spots! And while I didn't turn up any "vintage" coins🤯, just the regular clad and such, I did get a nice repeatable 33-34, that turned out to be a nice silver ring! While it won't win any value awards, it actually fit me perfectly! So it's a keeper!

I'd be very happy with at least one silver (or gold) "something" a month, and so far, I'm on track this year! Last month was a nice Mercury dime at a WW2 Barracks area!

But I can't wait for the beaches to pick up, with some Spanish, or Jewelry, etc... I'm not picky!!😁 And while I wouldn't wish for any more devastating hurricanes like we just had, a few well placed, "out-to-sea beach strippers" would be ok by me!👍👍20230209_125330.thumb.jpg.46941deac5ff873d02436ddb91d8a8d1.jpg20230121_192751.thumb.jpg.d2a90b33bbac3394418910d676f095ec.jpg20230121_162403.thumb.jpg.29943c617d4ce8e7fa8019a9ed36a44a.jpg
