I know, it sounds weird. I carry my pinpointer on my left hip and when I swing the 7000 to the left, the coil picks up the pinpointer. So by wrapping the coil portion of the pinpointer in AL Foil, it blocks the 7000 from picking it up. Here is a video from Woody demonstrating this. It was more noticeable on the 5000 than the 7000.
I just tested my Garrett on my Tdi and I am actually shocked at how much interference there is.

I will bet they would be just the ticket for finding gold nuggets in Ireland!
That's for sure, I will be buying one when available.

Cool find, gives me some hope my TDi may yet find a nugget.
What were your settings?
I was using it flat out, full gain and pulse delay at 10 with GB off for searching, very little mineralisation, then when a target was found I was checking with GB on and only digging low conductors as there are tons of hot rocks about.

Wow, I think that is an extremely impressive find! People find gold all the time in some locations but the number of people finding a gold nugget in Ireland with a metal detector has got to be a very small and exclusive club. And some real size to it also - Congratulations!!!
Steve you have hit the nail on the head as the saying goes. You could count the anount of people that have done so on one hand. This nugget has to rate as one of my best finds ever. Its one to strike of my bucket list and better still it was done at home.

The 6" was on sale a few weeks ago, that's why I bought it, I think it was $100 posted but I see they are not on sale now. Found it very close to a know gold bearing stream imbedded in slate bed rock.

Agreed Steve but it would have being much better with the original frequencies that were stated, ie 10khz 20khz. This is what people a pissed off about.

I decided to give a go at nugget hunting with a detector here in Ireland. I equipped the TDI with a new 6" Miner John coil and off I went. Third signal in and up popped this nugget. Not a monster by other countries standards but here in Ireland it is a monster. I am still buzzing and cant actually believe I found a nugget with a detector, but one this size, well over the moon is an under statement.

There you go lads, interesting ideas. I like the idea of the battery in the stem, something I wondered the never done in the first place. Should make buying new coils a bit cheaper. The pointer looks good but cant see how it would work wirelessly 20 feet under water though?

Yes the Deus has a 1/8" audio output jack as well as full sound on the main controller but it has no volume control.

Actually 1 kg (1000 grams ) equals roughly 35 oz. as 1kg equals roughly 2.2 lbs. I know, nobody likes a smart ass.
But if you were really smart, since we are talking about gold which is measured in troy oz where 1kg equals roughly 32 troy oz

I`m disappointed, thought the Federation of Independence Detectorists had a lot of say in the Euro bloc.
As Rick all ready said it is just a spoof website, take a look at some of the other headline stories and you will realise everything on there is pure rubbish.

Microsoft and Apple seem to do OK with this
Lets not forget the XP Deus.

It is even worse when you consider that the First Texas and White's offerings are all over ten years old.
If you actually look at the entire Minelab range, apart from the GPZ7000 with ZVT, every other model is based on tech older than ten years. Multi frequency and MPS came out in the 90's and DVT around 2000. Is it fair to say other companies are just rehashing old tech when Minelab have being doing the very same, apart from ZVT that is? Lol the CTX is based on 25 year old tech.

You can add the AKA range to that list Steve, the Berkut, Sorex and Signum. Selectable frequency all in one coil same as the Deus. They also can accept single frequency coils from 1.5khz to 30khz, coils in different sizes and frequencies as standard, custom coils also available. As good if not better in Iron as the Deus as well, I should know, I have a Signum and a Deus. As far as I know they are also the only detector that the operator can disc out or accept the ground range of vdi's which make these serious preformers. On top of that its unique hodograph identification system. Better still the top of the range Signum MFD is about 2/3 the price of a Deus.
That's what AKA have all ready available, what they have coming, the Intronik, looks to be a game changer, transmitting and receiving 2 frequencies simultaneously, which is a first also. This twin frequency tech will preform in heavy mineralised and saline grounds. Test have shown comparable depth performance to a GPX4500 with full discrimination.

Well, V4 was supposed to happen in first half 2016 but now this posted by Gary "We have suggested late summer, but it may be longer depending on testing and results."
And if the release of v3 is anything to go by it could even be longer.

1 in 4 men have some sort of colour blindness, 1 in 10 for women, most don't even know they have problems. 80% of people that problems have red/green problems. Blue is the one colour that least people have problems with.

Kellyco will not even reply to international emails let alone sell a detector outside the USA.

Hello all. This is a private-label gold detector we developed for Kellyco.
It is a 56kHz unit. Please contact Kellyco for pricing and the launch date.
Any information regarding the features, specs etc., we can answer directly.
So Itake it this machine will not be available outside the USA as Kellyco will not deal with international orders.

Disk 1 and 2 appear to be a fast and slow modes whereas the Id filter is the discrimination control.

For sheer performance I would say a Tdi but I am a Tdi beach user and might be a bit biased to them.If you do go for a Tdi get it with the 12" Aussie mono coil instead of the dual field, they are a lot better, performance wise for the beach.
On another note the new 13"x11" mono coil that will be offered on the ATX just might make performance between the two machines more equal.

Just spotted this, odd machine just after the introduction of the Makro Gold. Called the Nokta AU Gold Finder.
