  1. Here are the results from a day trip detecting the hillside between a ajor hard rock mine and a river containing alluvial gold. The gold I found has the character of reef gold and my future efforts detecting will be focussing upslope towards the source. The gpx 6000 with standard coil and no threshold is a potent combination in this area.

  2. Thanks i will definitely be sending mine back. I won’t be rushing in to get it updated though. I will wait till it is too hot for detecting. The way minelab have handled the issue is really poor. They should be contacting us. They know which detectors are affected and have our details from warranty registration. The market knows something is up. Codan shares down about 80 percent over the last yearπŸ€”

This deserves more than just the purple "thank you" emoji... thank you JP.. you are a true asset to the knowledge base on the board... thank you so much.

Great advice JP. I am guilty of focusing on those sweet shallow signals. Pesky buggers can get real frustrating after the first 20πŸ˜ƒ thanks πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸ¦―βš’οΈπŸ‘

No, I hadn't seen that, yours appears to run much nicer, I was happy with my DD as compared to my mono threshold that DD threshold on mine is fantastic but now hearing yours I'm not so sure, could be the different power networks though.Β  I've never had such little confidence in a detector as I do my 6000Β  I just see it as an unstable detector that finds gold if you're willing to put up with it.Β  πŸ™‚Β Β  Hopefully I start to like it more when I get my aftermarket coils

  5. Very interesting and thanks for the explanation πŸ‘ yes I was running manual 1 and in difficult and still pinged 10 small bits for the day. The ground I detect is generally surfaced and shallow so I opted for a nice smooth stable threshold over depth. Funny my first 11 inch coil was faulty. Minelab sent me one back within the week. Great service.

you will have yours paid off in no time πŸ‘βš’οΈπŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸ¦―

  6. Hi I was running the 6000 with the 11 inch coil in sensitivity 1. 2 gold targets that I got that day had a really warbly sound on surface a sound I generally think is trash. Targets firmed up nice an inch or two down. had not heard that before in the auto or plus settings that I usually run. Gold was .5gm and round like shot. I know that the warbly sound is a good indicator of gold on the gpx 7000 from watching Chrissy on outback gold adventures. Has anybody else experienced a very warbly signal response from gold with the 6000. Thanks

  7. Perseverance is the key. I think I dug 30-40 shot all in a row before snagging a bit last weekend. Ended up having a good session with 9 or 10 bits from a 10m2 area. If there is lots of lead then the ground has not been detected all that effectively! Amazed at how smooth the DD coil runs. Like a different detector.πŸ‘πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸ¦―

could be emi....try the coil somewhere with less emi.

Bit of an update on my issues with the 11 mono. After 3 trips where I could not use my 11 mono IΒ ended up sending it back to minelab and getting it swapped out for a new one. I just knew that something was not right. Minelab sent me a new coil and IΒ  tested it on the fields yesterday in the same spot that I was having troubles. What can I say the new coil they sent me runs like a dream!! Super smooth. No falsing and I even found a small 0.2g bit of crystalline gold at around 4 inches. Thanks Minelab!
