Are these from the same location as all the other recent goodies ?  Sheesk you are kicking b#tt !   Is the spring grass growth heights starting to be a problem up in G.R. country about now ?

Yes sir, grass is a bit tall but lack of rain has it a bit shorter than average.

Dang! That's nice, with targets like that still in the ground, anything is possible. Love seein' what comes out of that spot. Congrats again

Thanks Eric!   As the ground dries and hardens its getting a bit tougher to dig but, I'm not giving up.   Maybe I'll start sifting some areas and see what shows up?

I don't know much about any of the items you found but that (military?) belt buckle on the left sure appears to be in good shape.  That may get some of the military relic detector buffs here excited.

I've found a couple plumb bobs myself.  I would never have guessed they'd be a (relatively) common find.  Yours looks like a homemade one.  Is that what you were thinking?

All good stuff and thanks for posting.

GB, I found the plumb right next to a crumbled foundation.  It is  made of lead and I am sure its homemade.  I think its pretty cool.

  4. Late afternoon trip to the camp with my youngest son today.  He prefers trout fishing over dirt fishing so he ended up with 3 trout and I found what’s pictured.   The lead plumb Bob at the bottom came up as a 35 on the Equinox and it was in a cabin site under rocks.  My wife had previously found a Chinese lock at the site and now a Chinese coin finally showed up.  I’ll hit it again soon and thanks for looking.

True! I went 600 miles South thinking I'd have fair winds an' following seas. Turns out today was warmer back home than here. 😵 Not so tomorrow tho. They'll be shiverin' their timbers, and it'll be nice here.

I thank you all for making this one of the best life decisions I've ever made. It's been a blast so far, thanks for putting up with me.

Keep it fun and enjoy the great outdoors.   You have dug some great stuff.   I enjoy your posts.

Love the unfolding on-going story of this site.   Hopefully  you'll assemble a Riker shadow box, that is dedicated to finds from just-this-site.   Will make for a nice home museum display.

Hi Tom... We were in the big city of Fresno and bought a Curio Cabinet with a locking door and felt seal.  I will keep all of these finds in a group and well documented as to location etc.  We are just waiting for it to be delivered then I will attempt a tasteful set up.

  7. Joe, the coin is so small that I picture something like an ice pick to make that little hole..  i agree on the sewing it in clothing.

Tim,  the Equinox is running fairly smooth at 22 or 23 but the Vanquish even on reduced power is just too noisy and she keeps digging square nails that come up at a 17.  I really want her to score some nice targets  and stay interested.
