Well, what I saw was the competition take great advantage of the displeasure in Garrett's marketing

I have a bad feeling that those who passed up the recent manticore sale to wait on the "storm", are going to be kicking themselves in the ass when it finally gets released.  I just really think people's expectations grew high, and I'm not so sure Garrett's storm is going to meet them.

So Storm, first hint a few months ago, probably available by the end of the year, count your blessings!

I think I like algoforce's marketing plan better. BAM, it was suddenly there and available (for some anyways) . Not being available in the US sucks for now, but at least we know what it's about.

Storm needs to do, at least be in the running with the other big dogs.

I'm guessing, as long as the tech is equal, and the price is below the competition, they will sell many. Hoping for new break through tech is a lot to expect, and probably not going to happen. It's nice to dream though. I'd like Garrett to succeed,  but I  think they need a lesson in marketing. Either way, the frustration will fade eventually.

  4. By the way they are stringing us along, I am betting they already know this new "storm" is really just a light breeze that won't even clear out Chuck's fart. Be prepared to be underwhelmed.  If they really had something good, they would have leaked more details.

If true, it’s very exciting. It seems to come from their official YouTube channel. I’m really hoping Garrett can knock it out of the park and I’m in great shape to buy whatever they have on offer if I like the looks of it. I hope the rumors of a color screen and graphics are true.

It's coming from Garrett's YouTube channel, so I have to assume we will at least get some more information about the storm on Thursday.

If the gold is not big, a dry washer or recirculating sluice might be a better bet. Good luck and keep us posted

I have a sluice and a drywasher. I plan on utilizing them both. Plenty of water to run a sluice now. Later in the summer, the drywasher should come into play. Wish I could get out there for more than a day at a time.

  7. I was leaning towards the z link so I wouldn't need  multiple adapters for my atx.  The avantree setup looks nice. I like the external speaker idea, but not sure the earbuds would cancel out wind and river noise. I'd also need multiple adapters for the atx . I don't even mind my ms2's , but the cord is too short when I'm doing my scoop over the coil.  Seems like people have bad experiences with the z link though, so I will have to think it through for sure.

  8. A little late reporting on the trip, but here it is. We got a late start (did I mention my wife was coming with?) . First spot we tried was a dry tributary creek. I quickly gave it the proper name of "can slaw creek"  I was using the atx, so there was no cherry picking targets. After about an hour, and 5ft later, we abandoned that spot. Next spot was a small tributary creek running about 3ft wide. Took the gold kruzer out and grabbed the gold pan and put the coil in the water. Got some targets behind a bigger rock, and just scooped what I could out into the pan. Every pan had several specks of gold. I forgot my snuffer bottle in the truck, so most went back to grow bigger. My last pan I decided I better save something, so I went and grabbed my snuffer bottle . These were the biggest pieces of the day ...

Nothing to write home about. We finished off the day checking some tailings piles that the rancher used as his gravel pit. No luck there. The main creek in the area was running like a river. I will definitely be hitting that later this year.  I wasn't able to get back to where I wanted to be on that trip.  The roads (and my wife) would not allow it lol  I'm hoping to find some bedrock in that area. It's a big place. We didn't even scratch the surface. I'm still very optimistic about the area. I might even sneak out there tomorrow without the wife lol
