  1. This is my favorite time in NorNV from fall till the March rain/winds. Cold mornings, cool daytime highs and no crowds like AZ sees in the winter with a beeper behind every cacti.

Living close to the gold is a big plus though, I can be on most patches in an hour. Lovelock is in the Nevada pineapple belt!

That said we are planning/packing the RV up for the WSPA Greaterville outing that runs with the Tucson Gem and Mineral show. :)

  2. No matter how you look at it the detectors are getting better. One only need get nostalgic and go use an old favorite from years ago to find that out. There really is no going back.

I always wondered about the Gardiner machines Chris. They looked powerful but we're very expensive for the time, and not many people seemed use them, so I never made the leap.

Had I not seen one in action, I doubt I would have bought one. But thats the reaction the Minelab VLF were getting also when they came out @ twice the price of the competition.  If it wasn't for a certain Lady, I think ML in the USA would have withered on the vine, she bailed out a shipment of 16,000's from customs then took over marketing them and built the brand here.

  3. This is why I keep upgrading, and having another go around old patches where I never had luck!

    Quote,

"Both of those patches were found with the GPZ 7000 and were started by sub gram bits in real nasty ground, the tiny pieces started the patch thanks to the GPZs ability to make a "Dig Me" signal out of them which then lead to the easy gold. Its that reason alone I update to new technology because in the right ground it increases my chances of getting onto the sun-bakers which are real fun."  JP

Wow, this catches your dealers and the distributer flatfooted.

It was fun taking calls this morning from customers that had more information then your distribution chain.

Telling customers "I don't know" is not how I like to do  business.

From what I understand your distributer was not sent a demo unit.

"What the CTX needs more than anything is a processor upgrade to improve things on the speed side, and a long overdue upgrade in the screen quality."

Second that processor upgrade, and add that to the next GPZ also!

  6. If you get a detector powered amp make sure its a 4 pin.

Doc's is a great choice for a total system, light weight battery and amp.

He also sells a stand alone 9 volt battery  powered amp, The Treasure Screamer.

The B&Z is my choice it's a stand alone with, IMHO better controls and plug layout.

Vkteksolutions has a a few choices for stand alone and detector powered for the SD's and GP's 4 pin layout.

They also make the best aftermarket patch leads!

A low cost alternative is the Radio Shack Mini Amped powered speaker.

  7. Thanks for all the support from this community!

Im pleased with the turnaround time that 20 days included two weekends and one was the 4 day thanksgiving weekend.

Less transit time leaves 7 working days.

Heres a question for Rick K (or any in AZ)     Is the Minelab training center/store still open in Prescott Valley?
