Just received my Neewer monopod.

Removed bottom theaded insert with a heat gun. Just enough heat to release the epoxy.

Filed and sanded coil knuckle to fit bottom tube. Epoxied into bottom tube.

What model of stl file did you use for control pod adapter for the 28mm tube?

One more question.  What armrest did you install?

When switching thru single frequencies tdi stayed in the 1-2 range...

I've never had a signal like that before, I guess curiosity got the better of me... I was hoping a gold bar, or two!

I was river hunting yesterday and came across a solid +1 in 4.5 ft of water.  After spending half an hour digging down approx 2ft. into the gravel bar, the signal broke into 2 centers.

I finally gave up because of depth of water and size of hole.

Anyone else have an idea as to what is down there... the site is about 1/2 mile down stream from a bridge, and the river has been close to flood level all summer.

I just recovered a 10k solid white gold ring that weighs 3.2 grams.

It rang up as a solid 6.

Is it a wonder that I dig foil and can slaw? Lols

Basically, I'm doing a manual GB.  To just below neutral.  I found that the machine really over does this.

When I remember to set ground balance, I listen to the transitional area between negative and positive GB.  Then set it a few clicks less to get a tone when pumping the coil in the up direction.

You will know when you have it set correctly for your hunt.  It will pick up the smallest and deepest signals.  On the beach I dig these signals.  On fields I cycle through the frequencies to determine if to dig or not. The tiny can slaw is the worst. 

Sometimes when people ask me how deep it detects I answer "Too deep". 😉

I agree, the new update makes emi filtering work better.

He says it cost about $2 CAD worth of plastic. And it took 9 hours to print.

Thank-you Minelab for sending this out.  For some reason the store where I purchased my Equinox would not honor the RMA that Minelab issued for a replacement arm cuff.  

So Customer Service sent out one directly from the U.S.

Boy was I surprised when I opened the package and found the entire assembly.

A friend of mine uses it with success. For me it's still a little bit too wide without jacket - maybe I'll try to edit that design for a proper summertime arm cuff

My son printed this up for me. Hopefully it will last longer then factory ones.

Yes!

The EMI filter has about a %10 success rate on my 600.  So, yesterday I  was at one of my favorite parks under real noisy powerlines.  I have never had success with the Nox's filter here and usually hunt in single frequency.  Being an optimist l hit the filter button and it worked!

Zero noise, and it netted me a 1953 QEII quarter.

So, now that the filter is set l am going to leave it there and try it in other areas where powerlines are a noise maker...

I thought that my EMI filter was faulty until I read this topic. Occasionally my filter will work flawlessly and filter all emi out.  This is extremely rare that this happens and was going to request warranty for this fault. Lols...

Excellent idea.  Especially for surf use!

Also, if you are detecting anywhere with black sand make sure "beach 1 mode" is used.  I learned this on a river hunt where there was a lot of black sand. Quieted the detector right up. Made all those "1s" disappear! ?

Don't know if anyone else has noticed that:

Solid targets like coins and pull tabs are usually bang on with pinpointer.

Targets like folded foil or ketchup packets can be up to three inches off center.

Have not noticed other targets pulling pinpointer off target.  I always sweep over target area after replacing plug.  Coin spills taught me to always recheck!

Contemplating getting the Garrett Zlink module, since it has the same latency as the WM module.  Anyone using it?  If so so, any compatibility issues?

I'm with SittingElf on this one.  Only use single to interrogate target...

If you follow manual instructions you'd be noise canceling and ground balancing every minute or so when using single frequencies.  

I find ground pump in multi works rather well. Also tid shift in 10khz as another tool keeps me from digging those pesky bottle caps...

Here's a new one.  

Factory reset my 600 today.  Park 1,2 and Field 1 started in 10khz. Park 2 and Field 1 kept previous disc settings.

Each time I factory reset less memory would get recalled from previous settings.  I had to reset 4 time before previous settings were completely wiped.  I have not checked after my 1.5 hour hunt this afternoon to see if any old settings have returned.

Sure am hoping this instability is not indicative of bigger issues!
